The chicken teriyaki was good, as were the veg tempura and the avocado rolls but the other roll had salmon and again I am not a fan. Usually it is Cali or dynamite rolls so I found that different. The last time I went to Sushi 9 was a long time ago, however I do remember enjoying their food and service. Coming there again, the establishment's quality has not changed. The restaurant was very clean and well decorated. There were posters of the menu choices they serve and computerized order pads at every table. I ordered the Tuna & Salmon Donburi and the Real Crab California Roll. The raw fish from the donburi was succulent and savoury. The rice was very good on its own. Even that came with the dish was good since it was fermented. The roll, like the name says, is made with real crab rather than imitation, so it tasted like actual meat. So naturally, the crab meat and the avocado complimented the sushi rice and vice versa. The staff was very cordial and came to my table often to serve me. I would very much like to come back to Sushi 9 and try another one of their unique entrees. read more

Amazing! I stopped in here before heading to Safeway next door for groceries. It turned out to be an amazing experience. I ordered the Lunch Plate, green tea, and a small saki. The tea was unusually delicious. Then the miso soup arrived. It was unlike any I'd ever had. Maybe it had an extra few drops of mirin in it? I told the server how incredible good it was and she brought me a second bowl! Then the saki came, and I sipped quietly while listening to the cool voices of James Blunt and Ed Sheeran. The lunch plate included a deliciously-marinated prawn, one piece (seemed like) toro sushi, one piece salmon sushi, beautifully-done yam tempura, 3 spring rolls, also yum, and 2 sushi rolls. The entire lunch, and best service I've seen yet in Abbotsford, made my day very special. I will be making Sushi Nine my forever go-to place for Japanese! read more

Was wondering why a small order of sashimi was 16 dollars and asked the waitress (older lady) why and she said "you can go to Safeway and get it there". Then when my order came out the sashimi was missing. I asked her where it was and was told that I didnt order it to begin with. Another customer while I was there ordered chicken sushi. Was served deep fried prawns and when she brought it up was told that she was told that she was wrong and had ordered deep fried prawns. What's worse is that she was forced to pay for their mistake. Had also ordered it as chicken Sushi and was told in a snooty way "we call it rolls here" This is really unfortunate because the sushi itself was actually good, never coming here again. read more

Crab meat in a chicken teriyaki roll with no warning in the ingredients listed. Specifically ordered 2 items with no seafood or crustaceans as it causes a anaphylactic reaction and put "severe - life threatening allergy. No cross contamination please" in the notes to ensure there was no issues. Once I started to eat the roll my whole body started swelling and getting itchy so I called the restaurant to ask what was in the roll besides chicken and rice, the owner told me crab. Who puts crab in a chicken teriyaki roll and who doesn't disclose this on the menu. When I told Steve (owner) he said he would credit my account, the $12 is nothing compared to the sheer panic I had knowing I just ate something that may kill me. When I repeatedly explained the severity of not disclosing all ingredients in something that doesn't not usually contain shellfish Steve kept saying he would credit me. When I pointed out the special specific instructions he said he just read them. I am unable to leave my construction safety officer job to go to the emergency ward at the hospital because there is no one else to take over and I cannot send 95 workers home. This restaurant should be shut down for good. read more

Without a doubt, the most authentic flavour to be found in this town. The variety they offer spans from all time favourites, to very unique and original rolls. It's been a long time since I've gone out for Japanese food. I've been living in a small town for a while and haven't found anywhere that does Japanese food any justice. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this place. It's small, but they offer a pretty full menu. They have your standard items plus extras. I arrived and was immediately greeted and seated. Tea and water were offered and I placed my order. There were a couple other tables seated, but my meal arrived in a very short time. First impression of the food was very positive. It was sizeable, looked like everything was made to order and very appealing. I dug into it and it was all at an appropriate temperature and full of flavour. Soon I was deep into my meal and the server came to check in with me and offered more tea and water. Overall, I'll be going back. Food 4/5, service 5/5, ambiance 4/5, value 4/5. Next time I'm going for dinner. I only had a short time for lunch and I would love to order more small dishes and take my time. Also, $2 beers after 4pm is hard to turn down. Whether it's a quick lunch or a slower dinner you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. read more
