We came in here for a quick and easy dinner before our movie. The staff and chef were welcoming and the service was great as they were constantly checking in on us. The sushi was amazing. We ordered a few rolls and the size of each rolls were perfect and will definitely fill you up. If you enjoy salmon sashimi then this is the place to get it at. Ono's Sushi has been a favourite of mine for many years now! It's located right inside the outdoor Highstreet shopping mall in Abbotsford. It's the perfect stop for lunch or dinner during a shopping day! I often go to Ono's because of how convenient it's located within a shopping mall. I can get a bit of shopping done, run some errands, get some groceries, and then treat myself to sushi! Adding to that, there's also a Cineplex theatre right by Ono's sushi, so Ono's is always my spot to go to before heading to watch a movie. (Sushi, shopping, and a movie makes for the perfect day!) Throughout all of my years going to Ono's, I've always experienced great service and wonderful food. The restaurant offers a variety of Japanese cuisines. And whatever I'm craving, I can usually find it there. Whether it's a specific sushi roll, yakisoba, sashimi or ramen - Ono's has it ready. If you ever stop by Abbotsford in the Fraser Valley, I'd recommend stopping by Ono's sushi during your shopping trip or right before you hit the theatre. Ordered Spicy Dynamite Roll, California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Miso Soup & some other items from here via DoorDash, Everything was all very fresh and tasty, more fresh than other sushi places I have eaten from in Abbotsford. Even though I ordered delivery it tasted so fresh it was like I was eating in the restaurant. I highly recommend Ono's Sushi if you love clean & fresh tasting sushi. Ono sushi is one of the locations within the Abbotsford area that is open for dine in during the chaos of the pandemic. They have hand sanitizer at the door, and social distancing through spacing of the tables. It was not our usual experience to say the least because of covid, as there is less table service than usual. But that's to be expected as we're all learning through this time. All of our food was up to our standard, and they were still able to offer all of our regular favourites. It is still one of our go to restaurants while out, and they are so conveniently located at high street mall. They are also offering take out at the moment as well. read more

Went for a late dinner last night and ordered a California roll and a dynamite roll. Rolls came quickly and appeared nice on the plate. Two pieces into the California Roll and I noticed an odd after taste, a very strong, fishy taste that to me I've never experienced with other rolls at any other sushi place before. So switching to the dynamite roll the first couple pieces were good and then that taste hit again. By the fourth piece my stomach flipped over and I knew something in the roll wasn't good - it was totally off. I tried explaining to the waitress that the crab tasted extremely off, to the point where I now didn't feel great. She offered to have a new one made, which I declined. My stomach wasn't particularly happy at this point and if the crab in my rolls wasn't good then it made sense to me that it might not be great in a different roll either. I offered to pay for what I ate and she appeared puzzled and didn't know what to say. Ended up charging me for all of it and I left, stomach upset and all. Won't be going back. read more

Besides the fact that I had slipped 2x and nearly fell backwards out of 4 of us got food posing and the meal cost $119. This place is such a great place to eat at. Me and my girlfriend go there at least once a week she orders the beef box with a yam roll and I order the chicken box with a dynamite roll. The meal comes with soup, deep fried vegetables, salad, and the some of the best service I have ever had in B.C. We ordered extra tempura sauce and a bunch of extras which they never charged us for. I ate here yesterday. I ordered the california roll (4.50), spicy tuna roll (6.50) and spicy agedashi tofu ($6.50). The total bill was $17.50 plus tax! The bill at my regular sushi place in North Vancouver for the exact same meal would be $12.40 plus tax. That is a hefty premium for a place that is just in a plaza with no real ambiance. The food was not impressive. My agedashi tofu came with only sesame seeds on top, no green onion or anything else, no sauce underneath, and only a little dish of spicy sauce that was glowing red (I'm guessing with MSG). My rolls had rice that was a little hard and the tuna didn't smell fresh (although it did not make me sick and I wasn't concerned about eating it). The service was good, so no issue there. I suspect Abbotsford doesn't have much competition for sushi restaurants, otherwise this place would be forced to improve and to lower their prices. read more

Ono's is a sleek modern sushi place that is located in the Highstreet strip mall, you wouldn't even really realize you are walking into a sushi restaurant if it wasn't for the sushi bar. The food was decent; the deep fried gyzoa was nothing to spectacular however their firecracker roll was pretty amazing. Comparing to sushi places in Richmond or Vancouver their sushi is not like super amazing and as for the prices they are quite pricey. A California roll cost $4.50 at Togo Sushi it is $3.50, a spicy tuna roll is $6.50 at Togo Sushi it is $3.50. Prices here are pretty much double the price of anywhere else and the only thing that is outstanding here is their special roll. However for a little sushi place out of the middle of nowhere it is a good place to satisfy a craving, but this would not be my go to place for sushi due to their pricing. read more

Overpriced not good at all!!! Every time i call here they slip a couple extra things on my order and charge me an arm and a leg for it. Then when i tell them i didn't order that they muscle you into paying for it and saying its your fault. Like fine its not that big of a deal i just wont come back muscle me all you want. I got 7 dinner boxes take out for the office one night and they added 4 old cali rolls. Charged 6.50 each. 6 people at the office got sick. Not like oh my stomach hurts sick like violently projectile vomiting at the office, on the desks and computers everywhere it was a mess. Johanne puked onto her keyboard. Everyone that got sick said it lasted all night. 4-5 times in total. Very dizzy. Dan Clarence in accounting almost died. He said "I cut all foods from the Orient right out of his god forsaken diet". Which sounds racist but hes actually 1/4 Chinese or whatever...His words not mine. It was bad sushi. Ok like real bad. The beef teriyaki was dry and all the pieces of beef are super chewy and fatty. This place was great when they first opened, unfortunately the servers is what has caused me to not come here anymore. The last 2 times I have been here the service has been absolutely horrible. I love this place! Great menu, lots of space, and some good daily specials. The building isnt much to look at but its clean with lots of windows, and a sushi bar. I really like the tuna tataki appetizer. Its the best I've had in town. And I have liked every roll I have gotten. The service is unmatched. They keep an eagle eye on you and make sure you have everything you need. read more

I've been here a couple times and underwhelmed both. The last time the only thing that made my rolls edible was the mango on top keeping it moist. The rice was dry, my tofu teriyaki was dry, the veggies underneath were scorched, and the whole plate tasted like hot cast iron. Other party members complained about their rolls being dry as well. I don't mind paying to eat out, but when you're paying a premium for sub-par food, I take issue. read more

We started ordered from Ono's about a year ago after discovering it on High Street. Today, we ordered a large order worth $55. The order included two vegetarian rolls as my mom and I are both vegetarian. Upon bringing it home and biting into it, we realized they accidentally added crab in both of the rolls. We were told to bring it back and show them the rolls and only then they would make us new rolls. We went back and showed the the crab filled sushi. They gave us new sushi but offered no refund as a business usually would. We explained this a big deal since we bit into the sushi as vegetarians and mention not, we live 15 minutes away from this location (hour driving time in total!). The most ridiculous part is, the gave us a refund in the end but they took the sushi back to be wasted and thrown out since we didn't want it anymore due to the frustration. We will never return here, they have lost a regular customer and I will be sure to tell my friends and family of this horrific experience! read more
