We were a little shocked at the prices considering it's further from Vancouver. You can get similar quality ayce sushi for 21.99 and Ninkazu and 24.99 at Kisha Poppo. This place is $25.99 for lunch. Their tempura was nicely battered and came hot. I like that their chicken karage is chicken wings. Their sushi is overly pressed where it looks like a good rice to fish ratio but when you bite in, you'll know that it is a dense slab of rice. Their cones also had way too much rice. I was surprised to see sashimi with a limit of 4 pieces per person but it came as tiny cubes. The gyoza filling was minimal - almost like biting into a pocket of air. I'm disappointed to have paid $62 for our meal today. That's hard earned money spent on food that was unappetizing and disappointing. The dinner bento box was OK - the tempura was probably the most descant thing in the box. The beef was tough and cold. The pork and kimchi soup were such a disappointment. This is one of my favourite Korean dishes and I've eaten this in Korea and in many places in BC. Unfortunately, this was an unappetizing and unpleasant dish. I say this because dish was packed with kimchi and pork fat, no meat. If you are serving pork fat instead of meat, just indicate it on the menu. But please don't fool your customers and charge about $20 for this dish. Also, the main ingredient in kimchi so you might want to rename your dish to "kimchi and pork fat soup". At least this would mean that you are transparent and honest about what you are serving. I was so unhappy but I don't like to waste food, so I took out all the disgusting fat, put them aside and ate the tofu and kimchi. This dish also does not come with a side of rice, I've never experienced this at any restaurant that serves this dish. Your reviews are quite poor and I understand why. If I could give some constructive feedback, I'd say revamp your menu and make tasty food that is worth the price you are charging. At the moment, your food lacks quality and you are charging what many good quality restaurants are charging, which is not an accurate reflection of your restaurant. The service was quite poor. I received a glass of water, my husband didn't. I received soup with no spoon, I had to wait about 5 minutes. No one bothered to check on us during our meal. I still left a very small tip because I was thankful I had food to eat. But I'm not happy with your quality or pricing. I let the lady at the till know when she asked me how everything was - I was honest about everything and she apologized and said she would give me a 10% discount, which I declined. $6.20 is not going to make up for this terrible experience. At least she was polite. If you want to grow and thrive, I suggest making a few things and doing them really well and make sure the prices are affordable. This spot is open on Mondays within Abbotsford while many locations are not. They were able to seat us, and let us in to a booth with about 5 minutes. When we visited it was still quiet warm inside, most likely due to the kitchen heat competing with the AC. They offer a variety of dishes, have gluten free options, vegan and vegetarian options. They don't happen to offer soy paper though. We ordered the Tofu Teriyaki and Beef Don Buri. They were both great potion sizes, and they had their own spin on their sauces. They have the option to have a spicy option if you like. The miso soup was okay as well. If you're looking for sushi on a Monday night this could definitely be an option. The food was really low quality, says all you can eat, yet you're only allowed to order twice. Chicken had gristle and bone in it, avocado was brown and rotten. The dishes were absolutely filthy, with peeling melamine leading to bits of plastic in your food. The dishes also smelled like rotten fish. When they bring you water, it had things literally floating in it. Ugh. They charged two people $56.80, and even took (yeah, took!) ten dollars on top of that without even asking. Did something with the keys before handing me the debit machine and kept hand on the part where it would have shown price, so it was upside down towards me. This place used to be awesome and treated customers right. When you order their all you can eat they choose what and how much they give you. They will add more of things that are cheap and filling like deep fried California rolls. And they will decide whether you get your actual sushi. Especially when the owner is there!!! With all the extra food they send that you don't order, they then charge you extra charges on top of the raised cost of the dinner menu. My last experience today I was not sent my sashimi, not sent anything tuna and given half of what we ordered . They over loaded us with deep fried stuff we didn't order then charged us over 25 dollars extra for 2 boxes of deep fried crap. The food is really greasy now as well. It is a pity, I loved this restaurant but I will now be looking for a different place to spend my hard earned money. I prefer to write great job but had no choice but to warn anyone going there to take a picture of your slip and count the garbage they send you that allows them to take more money out of our pockets. read more

I have been here before and the service was faster in the past, but no big deal. Our frustration for the 4 of us is we sat for about 10-15 minutes waiting for a pick up of our all you can eat sushi slips, we ordered a fair bit but only one or two things would come at a time but they forgot many rolls, cones and sashimi. The second order they still forgot half of the order. Finally after 5 pots of tea we were full I kinda think more due to the tea than the sushi. Very tasty food, well what of it that came. Went for all you can eat last night . Boyfriend filled out the cards and i ordered off normal menu . We waited . 2 items of his came and then Mine came and he was still waiting for the rest. The reason I am writing and leaving a 1 star is that I could not find a no star rating....I entered to take a break from a howling wind storm.....and decided to do an all you can eat...@14.95. My first order was a large kirin a roll and miso....I finished both papers...although small and was well into the beer by the time the first small order came out...I was not left with sheets to order the second order...but after realizing this...it took a great amount of attention to get the waitress attention all though she was keeping busy.. (Does cleaning a table have more preference than getting a refill on all you can eat?) I then spoke to management and expressed concern...and to me the problem comes from management down....understaffing...but please let your staff know...to look at the people in your restaurant...it your busy...and knowledge. ..instead of ignoring ....and accnowledge and hope u catch up... The day I was there it was $21.95 maybe $23 can't remember now and doesn't matter as I won't go back...and not just b/c of the scam The wait staff were non existent at best and once you do get their attention you get one sheet to fill out an order - you can't get two sheets to pre order.... So order lots Not to mention the attitude, I can forgive policies the owners make, and the staff are following the rules - but this is not the case - and if you care to call them out on it you get the disingenuous kindness poured all over the table... Went for the lunch buffet. Really good at almost everything they prepare. The servers were attentive and nice. The food as stated was really good, you can feel the quality and the flavours. The chicken teriyaki was a bright note as well as the wings. Better than your average AYCE and maybe the best or one of the best around from Vancouver to Abbotsford. Only disappointed by the small portions so you have to order more than expected, the limit of one ice cream scoop per client; the really small sashimi pieces (shaped almost like small cubes). All you can eat at lunch: Cheap and really good! Lots to choose from, waiters and waitresses know what they're giving you and are able to suggest things for you to try if you're not sure. Serving sizes are medium to large... You definitely leave there feeling full! Service is fast and efficient. It's usually super busy at lunch but they don't kick you out after a certain amount of time like some other places do! Hubby and I often go there for some alone time without the kids at lunch :D All you can eat dinner: Larger portions, more to choose from, some exotic items as well as the old standbys :) Sashimi is great! but only one order per customer ;) It's more expensive but to me it was worth going for dinner for any special occasion (I went for my birthday). This place. This place used to be fantastic and id regularly recommend it as the best spot in town. In the last year though something has changed. To the wait staff thank you for trying to keep your head up you're doing the best you can with what very little you've had to work with. To the chef, I hope you see this and take it to heart, you've fallen out of love with food and its a tragedy. I would've put your food up against traditional Japanese sushi and I speak from having gone to some of the best spots in Tokyo. But your food now is awful and it's only partially because of a dip in quality ingredients. What it really comes down to is your indifference to presentation. I ordered everything off the all you can eat menu last night and I was so disappointed. Nigiri is a bead of rice with a topping typically fish, its supposed to be made by curling your fingers around to the inside of your palm and placing a small ball of rice and shaping it in the palm with your thumb and the tips of your fingers before the fish is wedged in the other hand and its all formed. Thats traditional nigiri what you're doing is forming a cup of rice into a vaguely oval shape and slapping frozen fish on top. Its too much rice its way too much rice especially on your bean nigiri. I don't know when you switched to using frozen fish but its tasteless and bland your salmon has no flavor and the tuna is grainy. The deep fried rolls are drowned in sauce its way too much and they like the rest of your rolls are too rice packed its a 70% ratio and its to cut corners and its why you're losing business. Who cut the sashimi because its being cut at no angle and on the grain and its not being cut on a single pass and as a sushi chef you know thats wrong sashimi isn't supposed to be cubed fish fat its a delicate cut and its disrespectful the way you handle it. The udon and wonton soup use the same base? They aren't supposed to and that wasn't a wonton it was a store bought dumpling they aren't the same. The cabbage bed for the teriyaki was raw not even steamed and no matter how much teriyaki I ordered I always received 4 little slips of meat which has been sitting out for too long because the skin is hard and shardlike. Im not saying that you need to be like Isana or sugita but you need to be at least better then conveyer belt sushi which right now you're just not. You used to be and I want to believe you can be again, at this rate your doors will close and that would be a damn shame. Some items offered on AYCE menu would be charged a la carte price on per item basis, maximum order limited to 3 sheets, sashimi is considered as 3 pieces when it's actually a sliced of sashimi cut into 3 cubes (also there's limit of two orders per person). Was just at midori on South Fraser and countess. The food quality has gone downhill and the service was horrible. To the point where I had to call our server over several times. They forgot items ordered and when I ask for nigiri sushi I expect to have fish on top of rice...not wafer paper thin slivers of see through tasteless fish on top of rice that has way too much vinegar in it. And to top it all off when I was asked how everything was I was honest and told the girl of my thoughts and the owner walked over to me and said "that is how we are here, we are different from other restaurants" and when I told her that paying $16 for what I was served is unacceptable, she said "if you don't like it don't come back" 10 years I've been going there....I will NEVER go back. Used to go here for sushi a lot before it changed to Midori Sushi and for a while after. The quality and cleanliness had gone downhill a bit (floor was always sticky) so we've been frequenting Dake for the all-you-can-eat. I would have given it 4 stars but I was just there last week for a late lunch with a colleague and oh my God, the spicy red sauce on the spicy tuna was so good we couldn't get enough. We were mopping the plate with random maki so as not to waste its spicy sesame goodness. The quality has come back up to my expectations and I will be back for a spicy fix soon. I want you to know that I did of course order another round of prawn and veggie tempura and I was a little disappointed to find that they reduced the number of pieces of tempura by a couple. I don't quite know why or may be because that's what they do in AYCE places. But that shouldn't be the case. They don't give you replacement AYCE lists once you have used them up. Work on that people. I don't want to have to ask you again and again. For the value for your dollar I'd say that it could be better if the food quality was better. Been here a few times and food has been ok considering it's AYCE. Customer service has gone downhill drastically over the last year. A while back we were turned away because we came in 30 minutes before they close and that was when last call is, fair enough. This time we call first at 8 to see if they're open and we're told that they are open till 9 and last call would be 8:30. We decide to go and when we got there at 8:15 we were sat and told they were closing in 15 minutes. We said that we knew and that would be fine, server came back a minute later and we were told that they decided to close early and we could not order anymore.
