Stopped in for lunch while in Orangeville. Lunch menu was pretty extensive. Missing the typical things you get on a dinner menu, such as sashimi, premium fish and the more complex rolls, for example. With that said, I believe you can upgrade to the dinner/deluxe menu if you would like. Sushi was fresh, and fish could be sliced a tiny bit thicker (but I get it and it was fine). Rolls were a bit messy and large in some instances, but good. Wok, tempura, kitchen dishes were all good. We liked that they had spider rolls (soft shell crab) on the lunch menu and that red tuna or unagi (eel) were also available on the lunch menu, although only in hand rolls. Service was good to. Not amazing, but totally ok when compared with other ayce sushi establishments. $26.99 per adult for the lunch buffet. If in Orangeville and have a craving for some ayce sushi, would recommend checking out. read more

And they are truly clueless about dinner servings. My food was dropped off randomly as each dish was ready. A hot meal slapped in front of me while I was still eating the sashimi, hadn't got to the salad or the soup. I had low expectations anyway. Might get the sashimi to go next time. The food we got was good, but they will absolutely rip you off! I've been going here forever, and they've always forgotten half the order. I assumed they were just horribly organized. I noticed today they were deliberately forgetting the order with all the fish (they stuff that is more expensive to them) and choosing instead to try bringing us only the fried foods and other dishes with minimal fish. Have been here several times to give it a fair shake. The sushi is average at best and return visits were really only because it's the only place in town. (And boy do they know it!!) Having no other choice in town really impacts the customer service and food quality in this place. Either that, or they just dont care. I actually don't think I've ever been anywhere where I paid to eat and felt less welcome. Our servers were quite literally dropping plates of food on our table and while the service here has never been great, last night all we could do was laugh. We had both hot and cold dishes. While the food wasn't bad, it really isn't very good either and the rolls were sloppy and falling apart. We also checked off items on our order sheet that just never showed up. I'm always hesitant with All-You-Can-Eat, or "buffet style" sushi but in Orangeville there isn't much of a choice. The rolls were pretty much as I expected, lacking in actual non-rice ingredients and flavour. To their credit the rolls were well assembled, and there were two sushi chefs working non-stop while we were there. Some of the sashimi was quite mealy tasting (previously frozen?), particularly the tuna. The Deluxe Buffet menu had a lot of significant gaps in terms of selection, although the regular menu wasn't that great. Again, it's sushi in Orangeville. $20.99 for the buffet Fri-Sat. We might have been better off just getting some sushi trays from one of the local grocery stores and taking it home. read more

More deserving of zero stars. The garbage they serve is absolutely the same quality as grocery store sushi. The fish is cut super thin on too much rice, this is not authentic. All meat is very poor in quality old or tough. I am not surprised about some of the higher stars given as this is Orangeville, a small town and very limited options. They overcharge , service is slow, many items you order never arrive all in all a very dissatisfying and disappointing experience from start to finish. Having lived downtown Toronto I realize I was spoiled with amazing sushi, the real driving force for this review is not only garbage food but zero desire on the establishments side to even try to do a good job. read more

If I was able to rate 0 stars, believe me, I would. I've eaten at this place several times over the last little while. Last night was the first time I'd been in quite some months. The last time I was there I recall the menu seriously lacking, with very little choice when it comes to sashimi, which is the main reason I go. The menu was still lacking, although they had some "NEW" items marked on the menu. It was disappointing. The chicken was the texture of tofu, the sauces tasted cheap. I had to order sashimi 4 separate times before it actually got to my table, and when I got it, it was sad thin little pieces of fish. I ordered Unagi Don, and the Eel had a horrible flavour. My husband, who doesn't like the raw fish experience, ordered some cooked items, like the chicken terriyaki roll, and chicken curry with rice, and they look liked they'd been heated up with a microwave. The chicken was white and tofu like, over processed. The rolls we ordered looked sad, and small, like they had been quickly thrown together. Though other rolls I saw going out to other tables, were nicely plated and looked put together properly. Perhaps they were ordering from the Ala Carte menu? I wont be back to find out! For dessert my son ordered ice cream, which came quickly. I ordered fried bananas, they never came. I feel that if I were still there I would still be waiting for them. There was absolutely no communication between the staff. Driving from Shelburne, it is worth it to me to drive an hour in the other direction to Owen Sound to another, and much better Sushi restaurant. Too bad, Orangeville is in definite need of a good place to grab some sushi. For now the grocery store (which I'm sure is far better than Sushi Kaika) will have to do for me. read more

Wish I could give less, been here several times since it opened. So I can make an honest review. Most times the service and food are okay. This time started off okay then turned horrible. Sat almost 2 hrs, only got 2 of the 10 items. Waitress came o where near us in that time. We were politely still waiting for the rest of our food as more and more ppl left. Finally she came close and we flagged the waitress down to ask where the rest of our food was. After checking with the kitchen and other staff she told us that they gave it to other tables. She proceeds to ask us to re select the items we where missing and to hurry as the chef was leaving In a few minutes. At this point we were tired of waiting so we decided just to leave. Waitress started berating us infront the rest of the ppl in the restaurant saying it was our fault for not asking sooner for the food we were missing, totally blaming us and not once apologizing for their lack of service. We received a 1/2 cup of green tea each (not once refilled) in the 2 hrs then charged me for all you can eat meals for 4 pieces of a green dragon roll and 6 piece California roll and the free green tea we received. I am an extremely patient person and rarely complain (I mean it takes a lot to make me annoyed) but to turn around and blame and argue with a customer for the lack of service is infuriating! The yaki udon tastes like a lean cuisine the teriyaki sauce is worse then a VH brand sauce. Very fake processed tasting chicken I couldn't even eat it. Some of the rolls are okay. Went to this restaurant today with my some friends and my 9 month old son. Food was good, but was disgusted when they gave us the bill with a 4 dollar charge for my son. He had a couple mouthfuls of broth from my soup and a couple mouthfuls of my rice. When I questioned about the charge, they said it was because he ate. Then when I challenged her on it, the manager proceeded to say that it was because he made a mess on the floor. I will not be returning to this restaurant again. My husband and I have been here several times over the years and the quality and portion size of the buffet food has gone down and the price up (you're also lucky if you get what you ask for on the order sheet). We decided to come back with our 3 year old daughter as the restaurant next door had a wait list. With no kids menu, we ordered off the buffet for her ($3 all you can eat) and got her rice and two chicken dishes. My husband also did the all you can eat ($23) and I ordered a $16 bento. We only submitted one order ticket so not a ton of food off the buffet. My daughter was only eating the rice mixed with some of my chicken and sweet potato from my tempura so i nibbled some of the chicken dishes she wasn't eating. The manager (owner?) came over to ask how many buffets were ordered and said that I wasn't allowed to be eating her food. I couldn't believe that he came over to our table to say that ... We didn't order a crazy amount of food and we weren't taking advantage (which I'm sure some do). I ordered a full meal and was just eating what she didn't. Been there a few times. The service is horrible, rude owners. My last visit on Friday March 10th left my husband and I very ill. We had diarrhea and vomiting for an entire day. You'll feel guilty for ordering. Only count on getting 75% of what you order on your card. The service is terrible and the servers can be very rude at times. Most servers won't even speak when they interact with you. Most of the servers have a dead expressionless look on their face. The food is decent but it's always a disappointment when the food you are craving never comes out.
