First here. Service was great and the food came out faster than expected. Would come again to try other rolls!

I've been going to Sushi-O for years and have usually had a good experience. It's great for lunch because they offer some decent specials and the service is quick. It's located in a small strip mall on Rt. 1 and can be easy to miss. The ambiance inside is on the darker side, which I don't mind and they play some eclectic music. The staff are friendly and attentive and turn tables rather well which is great if you're on your lunch break. The food is pretty consistent and tasty - it does the trick without costing a fortune. I especially enjoy the spicy crab salad, sweet home special roll, and the fried rice. The 2 roll combo is a great lunch deal and comes with salad. The dressing is delicious. They also have great miso soup.

I used to work nearby in Edison (9yrs ago) and would stop in or order to go lunch special. The quality was always very good. Had the opportunity to go back recently and everything is still top notch. Service is great, parking is easy and the sushi quality is excellent! My go to are the SpiceUp roll and Orange Dragon. Very good!

Sushi O is my favorite sushi spot in the area! Food: everything was delicious. The sushi was super fresh and great quality. The Katsu was really crispy without too thick of a breading. The dipping sauce for it was delicious as well. Service: our server was really nice and attentive. Our food came out quickly as well. Ambiance: it's a smaller place but nice inside. There's a mixture of tables and booths. The bathrooms were clean as well. Value: the lunch prices are such a good value. The bento box was $11-$12 and a 2 roll (specialty and regular) combo was only $15. Great deal! Great food, great prices, we will continue to frequent Sushi O.

Salmon Sashimi, Mango Shrimp Roll, Bing Bang Roll, D30. Spicy Queens Roll, and a D34. Summer Breeze Roll.

My first time here and I can say that I was impressed with the food and the quality! I ordered a Salmon Sashimi, Mango Shrimp Roll, Bing Bang Roll, D30. Spicy Queens Roll, and a D34. Summer Breeze Roll. Great quality! The atmosphere as well as the service was really welcoming. Can't wait to try the other options soon!

Went here around 5pm with a friend yesterday for some sushi. My friend accidentally forgot her face mask. The gentleman at the host stand was kind enough to get her a paper mask. He sat us a a spacious booth which was nice. The interior of the place is dark, with some fluorescent lighting which gives a cool vibe. They also play up-beat music which is fun. We brought a bottle of white wine with us as this place is BYOB. We chatted and took our time deciding what to order. The menu is extensive - they have a number of special rolls and provide pictures of them to reference which is nice but makes it hard to decide! The waitress popped by a couple times. She told us it's only a 1 and a half hour seating time probably around 20-30 minutes of being there. It was understandable just how she told us was a bit abrupt. The dual mountain app and kenji salad were very good. I asked for spicy mayo on side - their spicy mayo is more of a nut type of sauce - more yellowish than standard spicy mayo. Not entirely sure how I felt about it but ate it. The garlic broccoli was delicious. I ended up going with the spicy paradise special roll with added jalapeño on top. Also very fresh and delicious. The bathroom is a little stark compared to the rest of the restaurant. Seems like it could be renovated. I also would make sure to call ahead before coming for indoor dining - as I think they might only do it Fri-Sun. Otherwise, this place has solid special rolls and def recommend giving it a try!

Recommend here by a friend and loved it! Great food, pretty inside, and kind workers :)

We had a party of 6 and still had to wait about 25 minutes for a table as the place is pretty small. Right after we sat down we accidentally spilled a glass of water and it took so much effort to flag down a waiter to get some napkins. They didn't even help us clean it up, we could barely mop up what was on spilled on the table because they gave us very little napkins. Then when we asked for more napkins when the food came out the waitress counted it out and gave us exactly 6, one for each person. As for the food, a big disappointment. The tuna was not the bright pink color it normally is and instead had a dark red/purple hue to it, a little concerning. The yellowtail and squid were super chewy. The mackeral was very fishy, which I understand mackeral is on the fishy side for raw fish but I've had it in Japan where is was the exact opposite. Honestly, the only fresh tasting fish was the salmon. The food was slow to come out even though the wait staff was very attentive with grabbing our menu orders. Most likely will not be returning.

Makes sense, as the restaurant is small and it gets crowded especially on weekends. The restaurant is family run and very friendly. We tried a few rolls and everything was nice and tasty. While it's not quite on the level of New York City's omakase spots, it's solid for New Jersey and worth a visit if you're in the area. Standout bites for me were the Otoro and Chu Toro- both beautifully fatty and flavorful - as well as the Hamachi with shishito and the scallop topped with crispy garlic. Other highlights included the Madai (seabream), barracuda, striped jack, and a satisfying bone marrow served with toast. I also tried Kumamoto oysters for the first time in years, and they were a lovely surprise-cleaned properly, topped with a light sauce, and incredibly fresh. The Hokkaido uni was creamy, though slightly more briny and bitter than I personally prefer. Mr. Bin himself mentioned that uni flavor can vary depending on the season. Throughout the meal, Mr. Bin was present and helpful, guiding us toward which fish to try. The fish is delivered fresh twice a week, and the quality really does show. That said, it's still missing that little extra something that sets top-tier omakase apart- the purposeful dot of yuzu sauce, the hidden dab of wasabi under the fish, or a crisp garnish that adds dimension and surprise. Some sushi have this, some don't. The technique is good, the fish is fresh, and the experience was enjoyable- I'd return- but it's a notch below the more elevated experiences you can find in the city. Hence 4 stars. Solid though, and friendly. Nice ambiance inside too, Saturday dinner time it filled up quickly so I recommend a reservation.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

I so wanted to love this place, and was so excited to try it when reading the menu. Otoro? Ramen?…read moreGyudon? It all sounded like the perfect restaurant, but I'm really hesitant to return. Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.
