Sushi & Sashimi Maki Combo Lunch
    Katrina T.

Great service and great sushi! I'm so surprised to have a good sushi in central Jersey, normally stuff like this is solely reserved for near NYC or in NYC. I went for the lunch specials and got 2 lunch specials. I have to highlight the salmon sashimi as I think it was super creamy and yummy. I liked the unique flavors that they served even for a lunch special, my favorite being the yuzu salmon. The California rolls were also superb!! The only thing I would say is there being a little too much rice in the sushis making it hard to taste the fish. I also got a Botan ebi and requested the fried shrimp head to come with it and it was soooo good! I LOVE fried shrimp head and this hit the spot. They add a sweet savory sauce to it that gives it that extra flavor balancing out the oil from the fried shrimp head. The Botan ebi was also very creamy. The service here was nice and the waitress was super nice to talk to and funny. Good price for the sushi!

    That's what I ordered! :) yummm

Was around the area and in the mood for sushi. Found this on yelp read that it was under new management w/good reviews! Came here and ordered the recommended Nigi Toro Roll Omakase (HIGHLY RECOMMEND); ordered some sashimi; and 2 signature rolls. I over ordered but was SUPER DUPER HAPPY! Every piece I ate of the Omakase was just pure BLISS! Brought me joy! And gave me sooooo many smiles!!! Even as I sit here and write my review! Sushi Chef gave me an Ikura hand roll (sorry if it's not the correct term) and usually I don't order this but he wanted me to try it. It was SO GOOD! Wasn't fishy, wasn't the normal ikura / salmon eggs that you would get at other places. This had a distinct taste that was very subtle; the sweetness which wasn't overwhelming complemented the natural taste of the egg. There was a harmonious balance! I will only order Ikura from here! I would recommend to get it! Service was great! Waitress/host was super friendly and patient. Green tea was also good! Ambience is small and cozy! Love the colors on the wall as it brings calmness. I'm OVER the moon happy with my choice for sushi tonight and place!

    Sashimi

All I can say is WOW!!!!...This was my first time ordering from here and it was take-out. Everything was absolutely tremendous from the hand rolls and sushi down to the wasabi which was fresh and not from a squeeze tube. My sashimi order came in a bamboo tray which was such a nice touch to the experience... can't wait to sit down here and enjoy more great sushi.. thank you too the chefs !!

Absolutely thrilled to have Wasabi House back. New management, new chef and an incredible new menu. The fish is incredibly fresh, the rolls are unique and delicious and the new owner, Vicky, is an absolute pleasure. The double decker, which is Bluefin Toro topped with Hokkaido Uni just melts in your mouth. Their sashimi deluxe has the freshest selection of fish and everything on the menu is just scrumptious. My new favorite appetizer is their Smoked Edamame. I will never eat regular edamame after trying theirs. Please give this local gem a try. You won't be disappointed.

Love this spot. Staff is very polite. The sushi is always on point. Everything is fresh and well put together. Great place for a quick lunch or dinner.

    Chirashi

i love wasabi house!! such a hidden gem chirashi bowl is a must order! fish is super fresh and such a generous serving

First of all, this place is now under new management so I encourage to disregard old reviews because... and this brings me to my second of all... this place has THE BEST sushi I've ever had. They pride themselves on freshness and you can tell. They offer authentic sushi that is worth EVERY PENY. Since we've tried it with my friends we have individually gone back multiple times and plan on coming back again and again. It's a small place that makes you think twice, but trust me, it's the little "hole in the all" that will blow your mind. Try it at least once! You won't stop from going back.

I just wanted to share with you my experience at the Wasabi House. It's hands down the best sushi in the state! They have an unbelievable and unique variety of fresh sushi, with fantastic flavors. I highly recommend that you visit and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

That sadly was the best part of the night. We ordered; 8 AYCE and 2 ordered ala carte. My wife's vegetarian and doesn't eat much and my mom doesn't eat raw sushi and ordered the teriyaki shrimp. 1. The service is horrible. We waited 20mins to get our first appetizers. The waitress just dropped off plates and didn't explain what they were. My mom noticed the table next to us ordered what she got and a few minutes later, the waitress asked if she received her entree, which she replied no, and then she went to the table next to us and grabbed their plate and brought it back to the kitchen. We assume they reheated and replated the dish because it was way overcooked. 2. Long wait. Some items didn't arrived after over an hour and we asked about them multiple times. As we were ordering our 2nd round, we just reordered them. We got our waters refilled often but they never checked in to see if we were receiving our food or if we wanted to order more. Like they didn't ask one time. 3. Lost in translation. My parents are immigrants, so I am pretty understanding but the waitress didn't understand much of what I was saying and when I asked for extra ginger while pointing at it she looked very confused. I also asked her what a few items were when she brought them, and she didn't respond. 4. 10% coupon: don't bother trying to use the 10% off coupon from their own website. When we asked for the check, I showed her the coupon and she looked confused like I made it up and I let her know it was from their website under "coupons". She went to the back to ask about it and returned to say it was for online orders only. I mentioned that the coupon doesn't have any fine print except it can't be used with any other offers, and she didn't try to help at all which was frustrating. At the end of the day, it was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. The food quality was ok except for my mom getting a reheated meal. But the service was terrible. It sucks to have to wait so long for food and things coming out randomly and my son and wife waiting over an hour for their items while others are pretty much done. Save yourself the aggravation and try something else.

I tried to give this new spot a fair shot, especially because it's so close to me, but it was pretty disappointing to say the least. The cooked food selection was limited. No fried oysters?! On top of that, the cooked food that we did order was bland and bordered on nursing home food. Service was very slow even though it wasn't busy. It took almost an hour for the sushi to be served and we only ordered 2 rolls and a few pieces of nigiri. I noticed that there were way more waitstaff than sushi chefs. They have disclaimers (rightfully so) to not over order as to minimize food waste.Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and tasted very fresh!
