Heard it can get crowded due to limited seating; arrived on a Thurs. evening around 4:45pm and were first customers inside. Noticed multiple take out orders and by 6pm things were bustling. BYOB was great, enjoyed wine and beer from home. Started with seaweed salad which was delicious. Miso soup was good; broth not quite as flavorful as other places. Sushi was delicious. Tried the Cape May Roll which was great, as well as sweet potato tempura and smoked salmon. Great quality fish. Will definitely sample again. Hands down best sushi at the Shore!! The pineapple curry fried rice is also delicious! Faith the lady that works there is so on point! We have eaten there and picked up take out and she always remembers us and the order is never messed up.. We have not had their entrees but the sushi is awesome!! BEST SUSHI EVER!!!!! The staff is great and fast and the food is amazing! The restaurant is clean too!!! I recommend the green tea, shrimp tempura, goyza, any of the hibachi dishes, and the udon soup and for desert the mochi!!! I go here at least 3 times a month and am constantly Impressed!!! Faith, the owner, is amazing! The sushi Chef crafts each roll with perfection. The sushi itself is a work of art. Given her tough location Faith still manages to bring in a crowd at night. She remembers your name and really cares about the service she provides. The sushi is amazing, I'm a big fan of sushi and thank goodness for Faith's place being open to satisfy anyone's desires for professional sushi. The atmosphere provides one with a calm, relaxing zen. This place was good, but terribly weird. One waitress, maybe the owner, was running around like crazy trying to serve the entire restaurant herself while the rest of the staff looked on with little to do. She was also the only one hosting and answering the phone and handling walk-ins for take out. When my mother in law wanted to ask a question about the appetizers, but the waitress was too busy, she attempted to ask the busboy. Before she had finished saying "excuse me" to get his attention, he cut her off and said,"don't talk to me" and waked away. Trying to get the waitresses attention was near impossible. The food was good, but no better than sushi we get at home. I don't know that I'd go back, or urge you to go, but I wouldn't urge you not to. If they fired the busboy and hired two more waiters/waitresses I would go every weekend we're at the beach. read more

This is the most amazing sushi place! I'm from San Diego and I thin Sushi Ocean View beats every sushi restaurant I've been to in San Diego (and that's a lot of sushi places). On top of the sushi being amazing, the owner, Faith, is so sweet! She always remembers all of her customers names and makes sure you feel very welcome and at home. I was there this past week. The food was fine, it always is. BUT... me and my friends went in for dinner one night, we were one of two tables, we were chatting and catching up, not paying much attention to the menus when the owner came over and hastily asked if we were ready to order, when we obviously hadn't picked up the menus yet. I told her we hadn't had a chance to look yet and she came back within the same minute and asked again, still we weren't ready, but we winged it. The restuarant then got busy and she ran around like a crazy person on her own doing every task while her bus boy stood there. She seems controlling and overbearing and you could tell the bus boy was afraid of him. It took her 25 minutes to bring us our check, after there was no food on our plates. We asked the bus boy for the check but he said she had to do it. When leaving I forgot my bag and the bus boy brought it out, I asked him if he got tipped and he said no and ran back inside. SO, this crazy woman is taking all the tips and she is the owner! What the heck?!? I won't go back just on that alone (and I live less than a mile away) she is the owner! Poor kid! The food is fresh and delicious every time and I am never disappointed. Faith is one of the best restaurant owner's I've met; she is always running around helping and her ability to remember orders off the top of her head is amazing. We ate here last night after discovering that all of the restaurants in Sea Isle were closed. This a storefront restaurant with approximately 10 tables. Most of these reviews mention Faith and she was great - she does it all. We ordered 3 sushi rolls - one of the special rolls off of the menu and two of the rolls off of the specials white board. All of the rolls were delicious - one better than the next. We also ordered the Seafood Hibachi which was also very good - it had a nice selection of seafood - grilled shrimp, scallops and a piece of salmon. Everything here is excellent. The tuna tartar is amazing and the prices are very reasonable for such great quality sushi. My family loves going here, and yet to have had anything we did not like. Even more so, the owner, Faith, is extremely humble and handles most of the tables on her own. She even remembers orders without writing them down! And for those of you who are big into presentation, Ocean view sushi does a great job. If you are in the mood for sushi, you will not find a better place for miles. Excellent! We have dined and gotten take out from Oceanview Sushi many times since it has opened. The sushi is top notch and all dishes beautifully prepared and presented. Favorites are the yellowtail and spicy salmon, eggplant yaki nasu, Faith's signature sushi creation, the tempura shrimp sushi, and the vegetarian rolls. I have rarely tasted better sushi in the tri-state area. read more
