I'd like update everyone on my recent Megu experience on 4th of July weekend 2019. Where to even begin? How about being locked in the bathroom? OR let's start with paper water cups and wet seat cushions? Anywhere you start, it always ends poorly. In total, we spent 3 hours at Megu with only 2 bottles of wine. Did I want to spend 3 hours? Heck no. Start to finish this trip to Megu wasn't time well spent. It took 10 minutes to be seated for our 8:30 reservation and then another 15+ before we snagged a waiter to get wine glasses. How can you not have extra staff the weekend of the 4th? How do you not game plan? Regardless, we spent too much time doing things for ourselves (getting small plates, wiping our wet seats, and clearing our table). Lastly, this will be our final trip to Megu. I can't foresee giving them another try after this poor performance. Figure it out, Megu. Ps. I heard someone got locked in the bathroom the weekend prior to the 4th and the door had to be broken down! THEN they proceeded to use power tools to reattach said door during dinner hours. Beware of a power tool show during your spicy tuna sit down!

I have been coming to Megu for sushi for about a year now and have never had any complaints! The inside is very clean and neat. Our servers are always kind and attentive. They also give you good portions and the sushi always is fresh and presented nicely. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

This place will fulfill your sushi cravings in a pinch, but def not quality. They have a good happy hour that last until 6 pm though so that makes up for the high prices otherwise. I'm not sure if they're using sushi rice, but I can tell for sure they don't season it with rice vinegar.

We come to this place quite frequently and on several occasions, we have ordered here via Uber Eats- we were always happy with out food until recently. I am very sad to say that my recent visit was a fishy disappointment. We used to love the sashimi from here, because they were fresh and affordable. There was some sort of construction going on in the side walk just in front of the restaurant which is probably why they didn't have too many people eating in on a Saturday evening. I usually get the a la cart sashimi, or chirashi, or the sashimi deluxe that comes with soup and salad. First of all, I was never a fan of smoked salmon as a sashimi. It is too salty and just does not go well with wasabi. This was the first time ever that they served smoked salmon as part of their sashimi deluxe. I expected it would include either an octopus or shrimp, but nope, smoked salmon. And speaking of wasabi, the wasabi at the time we visited was weak and powdery with clumps of wasabi powder. We dumped the whole thing into the soy sauce in hopes of adding just a little bit of kick to the already super fishy sashimi. The only pleasant aspect of the meal was the naruto roll (i think because the ponzu sosy sauce masked the fishiness). Needless to say, wont be coming back here anytime soon.

Not bad food, but website specifically offered 30% off before 5:00pm. Ordered at 4:30, was there before 5 and no discount. Had no interest in honoring it either. Food is good, just don't be fooled by the website.

Ate here last night with my friend and her two kids. The waitress was sweet, kind, and very hard working. The sushi was delicious and my friend and I agreed it was the cheapest we ever ate out considering we eat all the specialty rolls and order extra items for the kids. The only thing I would change is the lighting. It's very bright and the lights are different shades of white and yellow which throws off the aura. However, overall we had an amazing time! Will definitely come back

Nice sushi place. Nothing too fancy or unique in my opinion but what makes this a nice stop is that it's BYOB.

I go back once in a while for a special occasion. The servers and hostesses are all very friendly. There's a lot seating available. It has a subtle, low-lit atmosphere. You have to try their tuna crispy rice and shishito pepper appetizers! We get them every time and they are delicious! The wagyu tacos and lobster dumplings are delicious but not as filling. They run out of their uni often, so if they have any left for the night you definitely need to order some. They are pricy but are delivered fresh. They're always sweet and creamy every time. I love their toro hand roll and scallop hand roll. They have A5 Wagyu beef cooked at the table with a hot stone. It's priced per ounce and the cost can add up quickly, but it's a nice treat to try and share with others. The Chilean sea bass miso was rich and well seasoned. This is the best sushi place I've tried in AC so far!

This place ain't half bad!…read more Decent quality for the price. I was the type of customer buffets fear tonight. I ate more plates of food than I'm willing to admit online lol. They have nigiri, sushi rolls, all kinds of fried asian foods, soups, tons of main dishes, oysters, crab legs, hot pot, ramen, desserts...it's kind of insane really. Was it the best versions of these foods I've ever had? No, but there's quite a lot to pick from here and I definitely feel like I got way more than my $36 worth. As for ambiance, it's a former Golden Corral location and set up pretty much exactly the same. If you're looking to eat an obnoxious smorgasbord of asian food, this place hits the spot without breaking the bank.

Went here based on a friend's recommendation. I don't know how they came up with this…read morerecommendation, but I won't be back, nor recommend it. I've been to several Japanese sushi and seafood buffets before and can say without a doubt, this was the worst. Sushi rolls were mediocre, like supermarket sushi rolls on discount day. I was expecting more. This was the only item that was passable. The Chinese side of it was terrible. Cold seafood, when it's supposed to be hot. Duck that was cold and bony/fat and should have been warm and better tasting. The spare ribs were dry, like hours on the line and everyone avoided it. Soups were bland, and warm. The hot and sour was the worst one I tasted in the last 30 years. No oysters. No crab legs. Desserts were pretty much all frozen and nondescript. I had the chocolate cupmice cream and it was ok. On a positive note, the service was good, as they cleaned off old plates, and refilled drinks when asked. So, bottom line. One star for the food.

I ate at Nobu on a Thursday night with two friends, after a long day wandering the gray labyrinth…read moreof the Atlantic City Convention Hall. By the time we sat down, we were tired enough to believe in luxury again. All three of us ordered the $150 Omakase, because sometimes you need to let someone else make the decisions. We also each ordered a Lychee Elderflower Martini, and that drink was a revelation. Sweet but not syrupy, smooth as silk, and served with quiet confidence. It was, without question, the highlight of the night. That is not to say the food disappointed. The fish was fresh and handled with skill. Every plate was a small work of art. But I've eaten many Omakase meals before, and this one didn't quite live up to its reputation or its price. Each course was good, even very good, but never transcendent. It felt like a performance slightly off its rhythm. Service was attentive and professional, almost to a fault. Our server explained each dish in the kind of detail that makes you wish you'd taken notes, yet when we asked follow-up questions, the answers grew vague, like the end of a story that someone forgot to finish. The dining room itself was clean and modern, full of light and shadow, a careful blend of minimalism and excess. Still, it was oddly loud, even though the place was mostly empty. The windows looked out toward the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean, but the glass was streaked and dirty, muting the view into something almost symbolic. Beauty, slightly obscured. Here's the truth. In Atlantic City, this is probably as good as sushi gets. The meal was enjoyable, even memorable in moments. But there are sushi locations in the Tri-state area that perform the same act with greater precision and heart. If you are here already, go. You will eat well. But if you have the choice, there are better temples to fish elsewhere. I give it four stars out of respect, and maybe habit. Three and a half would be closer to the truth.
