Went here for their AYCE menu during lunch. It's a bit cheaper than most of the big names AYCE places saw a review that it was 19.99 a few months ago and went and price increased to 22.99. Menu choice is decent and the salmon nigiri was pretty good. Fish to rice ratio is good too. We tried some of the fried tempura and Katsu were both pretty good. The rice we had served with the sushi came a bit hot / warm and didn't really have much seasoning so that's a downside. We tried the udon soup and it was ok the beef was pretty chewy but that's not what you come for. Decent place if just coming for sushi but if you like other types of food there are better spots out there.

This is a local landmark. I'm so happy to see that it survived the pandemic. It is an all you can eat sushi place. The service is really terrific. They also added a second business at the front of the store which is bubble tea. I highly recommend it it's called Ichi Cha and they have a really lovely selection. The restaurant is immaculately clean.

This is such a random sushi place if you're just walking by (if you even see it), but I love that about it. I came here with my niece and we feasted on delicious udon and sushi. Firstly, it's a very large space with LOTS of room. It's very kid friendly too. On a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't too busy but closer to 1-1:30pm, locals started to flow in for the AYCE sushi. We ordered the vegetable udon, dynamite roll and Supreme salmon bento box. The bento box is not worth it. The salmon was so small, and it really didn't taste like anything special. It was cooked very well though (not dry at all). I wouldn't order it again at $15. The tempura was good. The udon wasn't too bad. My niece loved it. I thought it was okay but I personally really like Raku...At $9, you can't go wrong if you're craving a bowl of noodle soup. The dynamite was the star of the show. $9 for a simple roll - decent price - but SO, DAMN, good. It melted in your mouth. As my niece proclaims, "This is the best sushi I've ever had!". I can't wait to come back for AYCE. The price isn't bad and it's closer to home than going downtown for AYCE!

I was always a big fan of Sushi's Place AYCE but with indoor dining restrictions I have resorted to take out! Their fish is always fresh, they are fairly well priced and there is parking right out front which makes it convenient for pick up! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I often have to call 5+ times to get through to place an order and the salmon teriyaki was a little small for the price!

Well, if you're looking for a good place to satisfy those sushi cravings that come visit every once in a while, Sushi Place is your place! I've been here tons of times: this is my go-to option for all you can eat sushi. I've taken many friends here to try the AYCE menu and they all agree that this restaurant is a hidden sushi gem. Location could not be better - Bloor Street near High Park. There are two buffet options, a basic option and one that's a little more expensive and that includes some more premium items. I always go with the basic one because it includes an enormous variety of dishes already, and costs around 21 bucks (taxes included), which is pretty awesome for a good AYCE. The salmon nigiris are one of the best I've tried (the fish is the freshest, the fish/rice proportion is perfect, the salmon melts in your mouth), the chicken teriyaki sticks are delicious, so are the Katsu dishes. I'm a fan :)

If you've checked out my post history, I have a fire and serious problem when it comes to sushi. This may make me a sushi connoisseur or an obsessive eater. Either way, I'm here to review! When it comes to AYCE, I'm usually pretty skeptical. In my Scarborough upbringing, I'm used to sub par food at a cheap price, so I didn't think too much about this place. When we went in (Saturday around 1:00pm), it was a little bit busy but nothing too crazy. It was also oddly dark further back in the restaurant but we went by the window to apparently get a lovely view of our parking spot and my boyfriend's car. The waitress is really nice, and she cheerfully gave us the all you can eat menu. You can eat there for around $17 dollars if you don't order certain items. But if you love salmon sashimi like me, you're going to be paying around $26 per person. BUT HOLD ON TO YOUR HORSES. The food, was AMAZING. You can tell it was high quality, and the presentation was also on point. There was also a lot of variety as well. All points that you rarely see in all you can eat places. If you live the rolls, I really recommend the spicy salmon rolls and spider rolls! Anywho, I definitely think this place is worth going. You'll enjoy your time there and also the price is already miles ahead of any other places around!

This is THE PLACE for SUSHI. No really, it is, even the name says it. Honestly, it's such a terrible name, that I almost hesitated going in here and the fact that it's next to a gas station and a 7-11, but because of the good reviews, I ventured in anyways. What I loved: -BEST SERVICE EVER FOR AN AYCE JAPANESE JOINT. The waitress I had explained the different buffet options to me. $13.99 for black items, $19.99 if you order any red items. All items came within 10 minutes of ordering. -The option to have sashimi at $19.99 for lunch -BBQ BEEF RIBS. So tender, so much meat, so juicy, so lovely, so want more now. -SASHIMI. At $19.99, I don't expect the biggest selection of sashimi, but they still had salmon, butterfish, tuna, snapper, crab meat and octopus (tako). -TOBIKO...nice melt in your mouth fish eggs. Btw, I wanted to point out to all my fellow masago lovers, tobiko is more expensive than masago therefore BETTER! -SEAWEED SALAD - was fresh and had a nice crunch to it. -The spoon that came with the ice cream. Cute. What I liked, but didn't love: -Beef sashimi - cooked perfectly but lacking marination. Added soya sauce to it, then it tasted good. -Agedashi tofu - fresh and hot, needed a bit more seasoning, but regardless great fried healthy food haha -The decor. It was open and modern, but it felt like a cross between a cafeteria, a noodle place and a chain restaurant. Kind of weird, but it was very clean, so a-ok. Washrooms were very clean too. -The unagi sushi. Unagi was tasty, but too much rice on the bottom. -Tuna sashimi and tako sashimi had a limit of 3 pcs per person. Understandable at the price point. What I didn't like: -Spicy salmon hand roll - while there were two large pieces of salmon, I felt the rice portion was excessively big and the seaweed wasn't crunchy enough to give the hand roll that nice crunchy taste. -Ikayaki - grilled octopus. Too chewy. Verdict: I'd definitely go again and next time, will try the rolls. Don't let the gas station and the 7-11 fool you, this is a diamond in the rough. TL;DR: good sashimi and ribs at cheap price, just go PS - SORRY TO ONE OF MY FAVE YELPERS FOR TRYING TO BE PUN-NY in my opening line.

Even their take out is pretty.

The people are going wild for Sushi Place, and I can't blame them. What a lunch-stravaganza of fresh fish and lightly battered tempura I just had. We had the To Go option, because it's Spring in Toronto but the service seemed lovely and apparently their AYCE is off the chain. I'll be back and update you soon, but for today, my jeans are just a tad too tight. You're near the park, they are reasonably priced and fresh. What's not to dig? Sushi Place. It's what's for lunch.

More rice than salmon? Not good.

I wanted to review this place well. I wanted it to be great. What's not to like about $21.99 AYCE sushi a walk from my apartment? Sadly, a lot. Ill start with the bad. For starters, the miso soup was lukewarm at best and had very little flavour. The tempura shrimp was so greasy and way over battered. The beef tataki was thinly stripped and flavorless. The tuna sashimi was TINY and tasted bland. Actually all of the sashimi was a little too fishy and generic. Perhaps the most striking problem was how much bloody rice they had on everything. The spider roll was one of the worst examples... I actually opened a piece up because I literally couldn't see any soft shell crab. I feel like it is a deliberate way to try and fill up customers to make up for their lower than usual AYCE price. The good? Friendly service. Cheap. The beef mushroom was delicious and the honey shrimp quite tasty. Spicy salmon was decent. Kitchen food is probably good here, and some of the rolls are good. Overall, it is just bland. Meh. Not a lot of flavour. Feels like they are just trying to fill your gut so you gtfo as quickly as possible. We didn't even have dessert. I would come back only if I was super hungry and wanted to stuff my face.... gonna spend a little bit extra and go to an actual Japanese sushi restaurant and buy Ala Carte. This place feels more like a trough.

We were in the area on Sunday to walk in High Park and see the Cherry Blossoms. Decided to go here for a late all you can eat lunch. The all you can eat (ayce) menu at Sushi Place was slightly below average. About what you can expect from a lunch menu, but missing some common items like Salmon Teriyaki, Shrimp Tempura and Kalbi ribs. Since the menu is ayce, we ordered avacado salad, salmon/white tuna/crab sushi, vegetable tempura, green dragon roll, chicken teriyaki and a number of other items. They did have some alternate menu items like salmon katsu and fried eggplant. The food was okay. Fish on the sushi was fresh though they give us a lot of rice. The restaurant was extremely busy and the waiters/waitresses never really found time to check on us. They managed to get all our orders right in our first round of orders and most of our orders right on our second round. Overall, the service was satisfactory but unimpressive. We got a large meal for a decent price. It was not a memorable experience. 2.2 / 5.0

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). The menu is set up to where you pick the entree and then what type of protein you want out of pork loin, chicken, fish, cheese, and sweet potato cheese. I settled on the sweet chili katsu. I ate a couple of pieces and the crisp texture and flavor was wonderful. I had a bite of rice and when I got to the cabbage to my dismay I found a long piece of hair in it. I immediately lost my appetite and all I could think about was how great the two bites of chicken was. I gave up the plate and showed the staff what I found. They offered another plate a couple of times and after I declined a refund was issued. Katsuya. sucks for serving me one of the best pieces of breaded chicken in my life with hair in the food. I'm struggling to hold back the tears now as I write. I did get to try the parmesan fries which were ok. I also tasted the udon which is not one of their stronger dishes. This probably would have been five stars had it not been for the hair. I know this happens on the rare occasion but probably shouldn't if hair nets are worn. If you do try out this place, expect great katsuya.
