Handrolls

Came here for a weekend lunch and tried the salmon lover $22 which comes with 8 pieces of pressed sushi, 3 pieces of sashimi, and 1 salmon handroll. We also had the blue crab salad $9. The 6 piece handroll set was $32 and came with lobster, eel, scallop, octopus, squid, and yellowtail. Everything is okay. Maybe my expectations were too high but the reviews that this emulates an omakase experience are not accurate. I think it does have a bit of the feel of a chef handing you something to eat directly, but everything was slightly off. Maybe it was the rice? I'm not sure. Nice to try once but I will stick to other favourite spots instead. Service was friendly and interior clean and spacious.

So pleasantly surprised with this location. The sushi was tasty and the price was amazing. We got 2 hand rolls, the oshi sushi and the sushi tacos. Considering how cheap the rolls were, the quality was surprisingly good! For an 8 piece oshi aburi salmon sushi, it was only $12, which I don't think you can get in many places downtown. The staff were so nice and you can watch the sushi chef making your sushi because of their bar style set up. It's like an omakase set up but a la cart. It would have been nice to have a few tables so we could go with friends, but regardless will order again. We also saw a lot of take out orders, so definitely very popular.

My friend and I came here for dinner last night and we both had the sake/salmon poke bowl which came with salmon, mango, edamame, avocado, corn, tomato, seaweed salad, masago arare, tobiko, sesame, dry seaweed, homemade sauce, on a generous bed of sushi rice. The sauce was this avocado mayo concoction that was so tasty and complimented the poke bowl really well. I felt there wasn't that much salmon for the amount of rice they put. Next time, if I get the same thing I will ask for less rice. Service was friendly and fast! I also had the miso soup which was a tasty warm hug. The store itself is also really clean, minimalist, and beautiful.

They soft-opened on 2025-03-30. During their soft opening period, you get 10% off the entire menu! They serve hand rolls, poke bowls, taco sushi, torched sushi, sashimi, and chirashi don. I ordered only one handroll because i have dinner plans: Maduro (Blue Fin Tuna) Handrool ($8.00). I got the 10% discount. The customer service was good. The indoor seating is sushi bar counter seating. You can watch the chef prepare food in front of you. The owner is a sushi chef himself. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom and it is wheelchair accessible. Review 2025-045

We came here on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not busy. We were able to find 5 seats next to each other. The sushi was amazing and we had a great time here. We loved the torched press sushi. The handrolls were great. My friend loved it so much that she wanted to order takeout the next day.

The nigiri was decent on both deliveries with the rolls being a tad above average. I was tempted to order a bowl but wanted a more filling option. With my go to spot for sushi delivery not showing any signs of revival. This might fill the void for now. 3.5 stars

The menu includes delicate cuts of fatty tuna (otoro and chutoro), buttery Hokkaido uni, and beautifully marbled salmon that practically melts in your mouth. You can really tell there's a lot of care behind every course. What stood out to me most was how calm and focused the whole experience felt--it made it easy to slow down and actually enjoy each bite. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I want something a little more special.

There were three add-ons (toro with caviar $25, uni with caviar $35, and caviar sushi). I opted in for the toro and uni add-ons. It was strange they give you the add-ons before any other nigiri. Everything was very good and fresh. Standouts for me was the appetizer, all three cuts of bluefin tuna, the lobster (by far my favorite), and the hotaru ika. I would've appreciated knowing that the omakase included or not included toro and uni before I decided on the add-ons but I don't regret it. It was a splurge night after all. Service was very attentive. Note that the dining space is very small. 12 seats around the counter and two tables. There was a very loud gentleman two seats from me who never learned to use his inside voice and totally ruined vibe. But that's not on the staff. Another note is that gratuity is automatic on the bill.

The space itself leans more modern and clean rather than the typical dark, cozy izakaya vibe, which I actually didn't mind. It felt comfortable, not too loud, and easy to settle into for a slow dinner. We ordered a mix of small plates to share, and everything came out looking nicely put together. The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. Some of the fried dishes leaned a bit richer with the creamy sauces, but they were still enjoyable, especially if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent. The beef fried rice was straightforward but satisfying, one of those dishes that's easy to keep going back to between everything else. Drinks were a nice touch too.. refreshing, nicely presented, and added to the overall experience. Overall, this feels like a solid spot for a casual night out with friends. It's not overly traditional, but it's easygoing, shareable, and comfortable.. the kind of place you'd come back to when you just want good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

The weather in Toronto this week has been in the 20's and 30's! The restaurant does serve the dodgers when they are in town! If it's good enough for them... I ordered a Canadian whiskey to start off. It was very nice and smooth. I think it was a Sleeman and sons? Not positive but I really liked it! Then the food. I ordered the first roll from every section. There were some repeats which he advised me would happen but I didn't mind! The sushi was so tender and had great flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and that was really really good. I would order that definitely next time and come here again!

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
