For an all you can eat place that has sashimi and aburi nigiri the price is pretty decent. I recommend the aburi nigiri above all else and the handrolls. The sashimi is just okay and the rolls are over sauced. Aburi nigiri each has a unique flavor. They bring your items pretty quickly too.

Came here for the first time. Was a little disappointed by their selection. It has a good size menu, but it's mostly just rolls, and the rolls don't really have a variety of choices. It's all either salmon, shrimp or crap. The sashimi was ok. Not the freshest we have had. They come in decent sizes. What sold us was their limited menu for the holiday. But the sauces in it were weird. The place itself has a good selection of seatings. But it does get busy on the weekends. It's best to make a reservation to skip the wait.

Came here for the AYCE dinner, and we left with a full stomach :) It was very busy on weekends, and the service was still very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was spacious, and we got our own booth. I especially enjoyed the tableside handroll, made right in front of you. It was so fresh and delicious; highly recommend. I also really enjoyed the variety of items like tatakis, tacos, specialty rolls, and skewers! The desserts were also insane :D! There were SO MANY options, I seriously want one of each: ice cream, parfait, cream brulee, cheesecake, chocolates, etc. Definitely save room!

Wanted to try some AYCE sushi while in Toronto and was pleased with KaKa. Surprised with the low ratings but I figure there's a high bar here. Decent AYCE sushi can be harder to find in some parts of the US, so I thought this was a solid spot. Service was prompt and efficient, we received our food at a reasonable pace. We had to wait a bit, so I'd guess a line is consistent here. Friendly for large groups as well. The ability to order sashimi was a huge plus, since I've been to places where they don't offer or restrict it in some way. Torched sushi was definitely a highlight, but rolls were solid as well. Honestly, menu is decently sized and caters to all sorts of taste buds.

Kaka on Bay is a busy Japanese AYCE place in downtown Toronto. They serve a good variety of japanese sushi, sashimi, grill, tempura, handroll, and dessert. They also have a movable hand roll cart to serve the patrons. Christian served us with freshly made hand rolls with good diligence. We truly appreciated his courteous manner and attention to detail in making the hand rolls. We had an enjoyable dinner over there at Kaka!

Wow, it's been several years since I last visited KaKa, and I remember it was so hard to get a table when they first opened, but I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I think they were one of the first sushi shops that brought the torched sushi trend to Toronto back in the day. I'm usually not an AYCE person, but my friend was craving it, so here we are. It's much easier to get a seat on walk-in for dinner these days, we only waited 10 mins. There are some new things on the menu, like tableside hand rolls, which were great! Not too much rice-to-fish ratio. We also had a selection of sashimi, which is cut on the smaller side, but you can always order more, and it's all fresh. We also recommend the short rib, tataki and beef skewers. The torched sushi is really good but also came with a lot of rice, so I would recommend the tataki more and order less of the torched sushi. They also had the sashimi tacos, which is something new, but we didn't enjoy them too much because the fish was a bit dry on top and needed some extra lemon or sauce to make it more palatable, I think. Specialty rolls were good, and so was the tempura selection. They also have quite an assortment of desserts, I recommend the KaKa ice cream (green tea with mochi) and the creme brulees. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the servers were helpful. We paid about $43.95/person + tax and tip on Friday for dinner, which is reasonable for all the food we had.

We tried this premium Japanese AYCE in DT Toronto. They have promotions like 1 student eats for free for a group of 6 and tableside handroll experience that makes you feel like you're in an omakase. Their dishes are beautifully plated and my favorites were the beef short ribs, tataki, sashimi and housemade desserts! Shout-out to their amazing staff and a special mention to Lisa for the warmest hospitality!

I'll save you the trouble. I know we all love variety. I tried everything. Sure, get some appetizers, edamame for some different textures. Everything is tiny enough that you wouldn't lose much stomach space if you really don't believe me and want to try more things. Don't bother with the rolls. Three must haves: 1. Tataki 2. As many hand rolls as you can consume 3. Crème brûlée That's it. Thats the review. 10/10 would come back. Thanks for a great experience!

So I've eat here several times. They have two menus, A La Cart and All You Can Eat. The all you can eat is pretty decent and for an all you can eat sushi restaurant they have a good selection of food including aburi pressed sushi (which is my favourite) and tataki (raw meat kind of dish). I will say it's on the pricier side but for the selection it makes sense. Staff are nice and the food comes out quickly. For the a la cart, the food is pretty affordable, cheaper than some of your cheap eats sushi places to be honest. And as someone who can't eat as much anymore, it's a little more worth it. Not the most amazing sushi I've ever had but it hits the spot. It's a great place to go out and eat with friends but be warned there is a time limit for busier days like weekends. Very chill vibes otherwise and the music isn't too loud or anything so a good place to catch up with friends.

It's been years since I've last had AYCE sushi because I feel the quality has gone down since COVID but my sister gave me a shining recommendation of Kaka so we decided to try it out for dinner ($41.99/adult for a weekday)! I came here really hungry so I was ready to try as much as I could: These stood out to me: - miso soup - seaweed salad - unagi nigiri and salmon sushi - all the aburi +/- oshi nigiri - ahi tuna/salmon/albacore tuna tataki - salmon and butterfish sashimi - shrimp and sweet potato tempura - came out freshly fried! - green tea and red bean ice cream - sake tiramisu I probably won't get these next time: - takoyaki: had 2 small pieces of tako in it, rest batter, and it was not warm/hot - was a belly filler - any of their maki - felt like the rice was a bit dense and I didn't enjoy these as much as the nigiri - Chef Frank special - this one was said to have salmon, "hokkaido scallop," cucumber, crab meat salad, avo, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, and tobiko. The photo on the menu showed a really good size of scallop but what came to the table was the smallest piece of scallop that was unrecognizable (now that I'm reflecting - was it actually scallop?!!) - mushroom and crab meat tempura - wasn't too special - earl grey creme brulee Service was pretty good and we didn't wait too long after we put in our orders. We had 3 rounds of food and 1 round of dessert. Max seating time was 1.5hrs and last call was around 10-15 minutes before the end. It started getting quite busy after 5pm but still lots of seating. I'd definitely return whenever I want to feast on sushi!

Kaka AYCE is a large place, great for groups with there many tables seating 50+ people (indoors) easily. Their pricing is very fair both as an AYCE and for a la carte and they have quality sushi combinations. We were here for a la carte ordering the Eel Fried Rice, KAKA Signature Oshi, and Chef Frank Special. It was plenty of food for two as a late lunch. The Eel Fried Rice was an amazing surprise, it was full of eel meat in every bite and the portion was filling for two people. The KAKA Signature Oshi and Chef Frank Special had large pieces that were flavorful and had a good ratio of rice to protein. The service was very quick and attentive. The online menu is the most up-to-date and had a lot of choice. The servers were available and provided extra utensils and seasonings without a fuss. They seated us quickly and came over once we were ready to order as well as ready to pay. Will be back to try their bentos and other sushi combos! Oh and don't sleep on they Earl Grey creme brule dessert!

Early Ayce sushi dinner!!! It was alright. It's all you can eat so it's the same as most Ayce places I've been too. The servers were excellent. Vert friendly and attentive. Really like the service. My only thing was the cocktails were a bit weak. Need more booze. Otherwise I enjoyed my evening ! The restaurant wasn't busy when I went but after 30 minutes or so the dinner rush came in and it was busy.

Come there every time I'm in Toronto, amazing all you can eat, best quality, always quick and friendly service. One of the favorite spots in Toronto and definitely favorite all you can eat spot!

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

We walked into a lively, casual space that works especially well for groups, celebrations, or any meal where you want to take your time and enjoy the experience. The energy in the room is high, with the sound of grilling and conversation filling the space, and the table setup encourages a longer, more relaxed pace than a typical restaurant meal. The biggest highlight is the meat selection. The quality is consistently strong, with different cuts and marinades that give each plate its own flavor. The miso steak is one of the standout items, with a really good balance of savory, slightly sweet, and rich flavors. The marinated meats are where Gyubee really shines, coming seasoned well and developing a great char from grilling at the table. We worked through a range of options including kalbi, hanger steak, and sausage, mixing and matching as we went. The fun part is being able to control the cooking yourself, whether you prefer a lighter sear or a deeper grilled flavor, and the grill setup makes it easy to cook at your own pace. The sides and extras are also better than what we usually expect from an all you can eat BBQ spot. The sushi was surprisingly enjoyable, with smaller portions that made it easy to try different rolls without filling up too quickly. The bibimbap is another good addition, especially when paired with the grilled meats. Takoyaki and other sides helped break up the meal and added variety beyond just ordering meat after meat. The spread is broad enough that you can build a well rounded meal without feeling like you are stuck in a single category. Service was a strong part of the experience. Even with the restaurant being busy, the staff were attentive and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. They kept the table moving, helped with ordering, and made the process feel smooth despite the constant flow of guests. The wait can be the biggest challenge, especially during dinner hours, but the service once seated helped make up for it. The staff also handled the high turnover of tables well, keeping the pace steady without making us feel rushed. Gyubee is one of those places where the experience is just as important as the food. The combination of grilling at the table, quality meats, good sides, and a fun group atmosphere makes it a great choice for a longer meal with friends or family. It is worth planning ahead for the wait because the meal itself delivers the kind of relaxed, interactive dining experience that makes you want to come back. The format encourages you to slow down, cook at your own pace, and enjoy the meal as a shared activity rather than just a quick dinner.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.
