Wanted to eat sushi tonight so we figured we would try out the new sushi restaurant in town. Our go to restaurant being Tokyo. Arrived at Sushi Ro at 625, it wasn't super busy, we were ignored by the entire waitstaff and after the hostess sat us her too. Actually stuck around until 640 then said screw it we're going to Tokyo, where the server is great! As we walk out the door in a sarcastic way I said thanks. One server and the hostess said Thank you come again! Seriously! I'll keep eating at Tokyo! read more

My husband and decided to give this place a try. Not disappointed! We got the Daniel roll which the waitress recommended and the Cobbs Ford roll. Both were delicious! We will be back! Macala was wonderful also! read more

Went to eat some sushi tonight, knowing Sushi Ro is a relatively new place my wife and I chose here. But after having been seated we were ignored for 30 minutes until we got up and left. Restaurant was packed on a Saturday evening. Seating is fair and every seat was taken. They were short staffed and really hustling during the rush. Staff was friendly. They were short on short on some dishes claiming they were being washed and offered a plastic cup as a substitute. Ordered tuna, shrimp and salmon nigiri, temporal roll, a crunch roll and gyoza. Overall, the sushi was fair but the quality of tuna was mediocre at best. I'll likely try it again hoping that tonight was an anomaly. read more

We have frequented quite a few sushi places around town, and this is by far the worst. My wife and I both ordered two rolls and miso soup. The miso was great and came out quickly, but it took a solid 25 minutes for our rolls (no they weren't that busy). The rolls were poorly rolled, loose, and inconsistent between the pieces. My wife had ordered a california roll and a shrimp crunch. Both had avocado, but the avocado in the shrimp crunch was smeared and pouring out the ends. When I asked the waitress to return it, the manager then wanted to come over and berate us over how we were wrong and then tried to give us a sushi lesson. Even when I said "we just want it done right" he continued to go on and on. The waitress offered to have it redone, and my wife just asked for two california rolls. When they came out 10 mins later, there was one california roll and one cucumber roll. Both were overly sweet, and her rolls and mine had no distinctive flavor from any of the ingredients. At that point we just got our bill and left. While the manager did take her order off the bill, how condescending he was and the fact that he wouldn't stop pointing out that we didn't seem to know sushi, and the fact that despite that, even the sushi was horrible (I've had better from the grocery store), we would never go back. The manager Mike is enough to shut that business down, which is sad because the waitresses were phenomenal. read more

My boyfriend and I went for lunch today. We were very excited because they offer poke bowls. When we first arrived, we only were given the sushi menus so I had to ask for poke bowls. We also ordered miso soup, the hibachi steak plate, and a spicy tuna and avocado appetizer. We were surprised that the miso soup was really good. We thought that the rest of our meal would continue to be great. However, we were wrong. The appetizer was covered in sauce that made it to where you couldn't taste the tuna or avocado. The hibachi steak was decent. I ordered a tuna/salmon, seaweed, avocado, and rice poke bowl with crunchies and green onions on top. Except that's not what I got. I asked the server what the crunchies were and asked if it was the seaweed sprinkle that goes on top and she said yes. Yet it wasn't, it was like breadcrumbs. I also didn't get seaweed, they gave me lettuce instead( which was an option you could pick but I didn't). The tuna meat tasted fine but the salmon didn't taste fresh. Due to this meal being a disappointment and the fish not tasting fresh, we wouldn't even want to go back and give the sushi a try. I know this is a small town but people from all over move here for work and that alone should be reason to make sure the food is good. read more

Had a great server, but she was the only positive. The front of house seems to be run by teenagers who have no seating system. The food itself was horrible. I ordered the tempura shrimp, which was in an entree area of the menu but didn't come with anything. A tempura entree typically comes with soup or salad and rice. This was à la carte. And don't put tempura on your menu if you aren't going to actually serve tempura. The shrimp were tempura cut, but cooked in sweet and sour batter. It was perfectly mediocre, not tempura. read more

The food here was good but service was terrible. When I arrived at the restaurant, only 3 tables were occupied so they were not busy at all. I was seated and sat for literally 15 minutes as all the servers looked at me and walked by. They were even all huddled at the front talking (obviously not busy). As I said, after 15 minutes someone came to me asking if I would like water. I told her yes and proceeded to voice my concern about the long wait. She said they all noticed and how they were all saying "no one has gotten that table" so she then said to them "well I guess I'll go get it". Some lady was also walking around who I assume is the owner. She also walked by muiltple with no care in the world that I haven't been waited on. Worst service I've ever received. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if possible! My husband and I went to eat there for the first time last night and left feeling rather disappointed and neglected. The service was HORRIBLE and it wasn't just our service. We waited for nearly an hour for our food while we watched other tables wait just as long, maybe longer. We even noticed a couple sit for over twenty minutes without ANY service, only to get up and walk out before a server ever approached their table. We were hoping for better food, but our several sushi rolls and one cooked meal were also pretty awful. I was so hopeful that this quaint little, reasonably priced restaurant would become a favorite, but it has landed on our "DO NOT EVER EAT THERE AGAIN" list. read more

I came in the other day with my husband for the first time. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress makayla, was very sweet and treated us like we were more than just guests eating. She was patient and suggested the Daniel special that was absolutely delicious. Mike, i believe the manager, came to our table and talked to us like he knew us half our lives. I have already recommended this place to most everyone that i know loves sushi and great service. Makayla also suggested the bama roll for next time , so i will definitely be back with my husband and friends in the near future. 5 stars ! read more

My husband tried two dishes here tonight, the shrimp tempura and the Daniel Special sushi roll. In both dishes, it was obvious that the shrimp wasn't deveined. I had a roll with no shrimp, which was tasty. However, it's hard to overlook something so basic as deveining shrimp...very disappointing. Customer service was good. read more

Update: I'd love to give this place 0 stars. I decided to try it again because it's listed on the Waitr app. Our order was supposed to be delivered by 8:30. They said that our food was ready, but when the Waitr guy got there, they told him it wasn't actually ready, so he called to let us know it would be later. When we finally get our food at 9:10, we realize that we are missing a sushi roll, as well as the beef from a chicken and beef teriyaki plate. We called the restaurant and they said was they were sorry and they were so busy and "we waited for the Waitr to pick it up". Which is BS because he just picked up our other food. Also the roll wasn't even listed on the recipt. They said they would deliver the sushi roll to us themselves, which was nice, but at this point it has been two hours since we placed our initial order. When the server they send arrives with the order (at 9:30), he tries to charge me for it again. I told him it was all paid for through Waitr. He acted so confused but finally just said ok and left. I 100 percent will never give this restaurant another dime. Previous review: I usually go to the other sushi restaurant in Prattville, but decided to try something new. One of my rolls was not rolled tight enough for me to pick it up without it falling apart. The flavor wasn't that great. I feel like I can get better sushi at Publix for a better price. read more

My husband and I love Japanese food!!! The teriyaki meal is delicious and my husband loves the sushi!!! We have been several times and each time the food was delicious and the staff are always very friendly and super attentive!!! I highly recommend Sushi Ro since they are consistently good and lots of food.for the price!!! read more
