This building used to be another restaurants and the current day is Sushi Shiro. I'm happy because I love Japanese food. I actually dine-in here twice already and order take out. Their menu is pretty big and lots of variety of food. - Tako Crudo: nice chewy octopus - Wild Forest Mushroom Broth: Small so good with wild mushroom - Williamsburg Roll: one of my favorite special roll. - Garlic Firecracker shrimp Risotto: not crazy about it at all. Not that good combination for this fusion food. - Naruto Special Roll: I love it, only fish and vegetable, no rice. - Beef Skewers: good snack - Crispy Calamari: yes it is crispy - Sushi Lunch: good amount but if you are not super hungry at lunch it can be too much. Lunch comes with Salad and soup - House Sake: love that, pretty smooth - Tokyo Heat: I also like cocktail, and it is a good one Overall: Good food and good service. Since I live in the neighborhood, Sushi Shiro will be a spot that I will enjoy food and hang out more often.

Great the spot! Friendly staff and nice vibe. The happy hour has amazing deals and the food was really good and $2 beers (ipa and weizen) is impossible to beat! The spicy tuna crispy rice was especially great.

Great new sushi spot in Williamsburg! Shiro is a really lively bar and grill with delicious quality food. The cocktails were strong and there was a great variety as well. We started out with the shishito peppers, garlic edamame, and fatty tuna with crispy nori. The sushi rolls and black miso cod were absolutely delicious and fresh - it was nice to see them being made at the sushi bar. The waitstaff was very nice and attentive to us as well. Overall a great new place to dine with friends or visit on a fun date.

You know when you pay a lot of money for a mid meal that you get sad and want a redemption round? I had a very sad sushi meal in upper west side that the next day, i needed to fix this with better priced and tasty sushi. Thank God Sushi Shiro pulled through. I was whole again.

Dinner was absolutely amazing! We had the pleasure of meeting DJ Nyce, one of the owners, and he was incredible super friendly and gave us great recommendations around the city. The service was top tier, the environment was beautiful, and the vibe was perfect with great house music playing all night. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Great service, and a very lucrative happy hour deal. Would highly recommend the crispy tuna pictured here, and the chefs choice for Sashimi.

    2$ beer!

The 12pm-6pm deal is amazing (2$ beer!, 4-7$ bites) and I loved the crispy rice with tuna!

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. I've only ever been here in groups of two and I probably would recommend it for smaller groups because the space itself is small and most of the tables are two-seaters if I recall correctly.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.
