Unfortunately I ordered a meal through GrubHub from Sushi Ten and it arrived not only mostly wrong but what was correct was horrendous. The tempura Vegas roll tasted like an old fryer that hadn't been filtered in months. The spicy tuna roll tasted fishy like trout and was so small and instead of a tuna handroll I got a salmon handroll. I mean how does a supposed sushi chef mistake the red robust color of tuna with the light milky redish pink color of salmon. When I tried to call them to explain what had happened they said they would look into it and call back, well guess what, they never called back and when I finally called them to see what progresses they had made they said they had had no order like that tonight. Even though I have the receipt. I don't know what system they use for ordering but they are incapable of locating a order on their POS by matching ticket numbers. I can only imagine that they intentionally told me this so that they could be as uncooperative as possible. I understand we are in a covid pandemic but that is no excuse for bad business and even worse customer relations. I would seriously consider somewhere else before I dined at Sushi Ten either in restaurant or by delivery or take out if I were you. I know this got will never grace their doorstep again. After I moved from the other side of town, I have been looking for a decent sushi place. I found it in Sushi Ten. They have an AYCE for $19.95, which is I what I usually get. I bargain for they amount of sushi I can down. My favorite is the hand rolls instead of the normal rice rolls. The AYCE menu has 8-10 of the hand rolls. At the other AYCE places you have to specifically ask for hand rolls. It was nice to see that Sushi Ten puts it right there so you can have to feel like you are making "special" requests. I have been there during Happy Hour at it is crazy busy. Of course their sushi is half off so it is certainly understandable. So if that is something you are looking check them out Monday-Thursday 11-7 Friday & Saturday 11-5. Since I get the AYCE, I try to avoid those hours. Of course since I can't get there by 7pm during the week because of work schedule, it is not usually an issue. As I said, I enjoy the hand rolls. Whether it is the soft shell crab or the rainbow, all of their hand rolls are stuffed, they do not skimp on the fish. Regardless if they are the rolls or the nigri, the portions are on the large side. This is one of my regular haunts. I probably head her 2-3 times a month. To be fair, I have not tried any of the non-sushi fare. But one night I took my daughter and she seemed to enjoy the teriyaki salmon. read more

Happy hour(s) are M-Th 11-7PM and Fri-Sat 11-5PM. Food is pretty consistent and since I'm a regular, they give me a warm greeting at the door. This review is based on some picky sushi eaters in my family. So the family was super excited about trying a new Sushi spot and that was the Sunday's dinner choice and so I decided to pick this spot based on previous Yelp Reviews (yelp plugin). I absolutely loved this place (but I didnt order Sushi)! I ordered teriyaki Chicken - which looked so yummy that I couldnt wait to eat and therefore did not get a pic (total yelp pic missed opportunity)! Oh and I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice - first off huge big plate serving and enough for 2-3 peeps and the chicken was actualy cooked very well it was super yummy! Now on to why they didnt get a 5 star rating - my husband and step-son ordered: the Avacado, Las Vegas, and Cali roll and honestly i couldnt really tell which was which. They were large heaping rolls but all I saw was them picking all sorts of stuff out of them. Now for someone that loves large pieces a raw salmon this is your spot but for my picky sushi eaters it was not. The presentation of the rolls was amazing they just werent to thrilled with the way they tasted. (i do have a pic added for the Sushi). My most recent trip to Sushi-Ten with my sister and husband was a huge let down. We all arrived at 5pm, right in the middle of their Happy Hour--which includes half priced sushi, alcohol discounts, etc. As usual, there were plenty of people in the restaurant, so we were not expecting "super fast" service that we sometimes get. But what we did get was worth a loss of two stars (and makes me wonder if I will be back again!). Let me begin... our waitress took a few minutes to come to our table to get our drink orders (1 lemonade, 1 tea, 1 Budweiser beer). This was fine, as we could tell they were busy, and it took her a few minutes to bring the drinks back, bring soup, etc. By the time she came back we had already marked our sushi slips and were ready to order. 52 minutes pass until we get sushi. They were clearly slammed, but this seemed to be a long wait. However, knowing that they sometimes get busy, we were all willing to wait a bit for really delicious sushi. The sushi chef even agreed to take my sister's vegetarian roll and tempura it for her (note: she said this was the best thing she'd ever had when it finally arrived). But in the 52 minutes that it took our sushi to arrive our waitress never returned to check on us, never came to refill drinks--nothing. We were abandoned. When sushi arrived it was good. My sister loved the tempura veggie roll that they made for her. I tried several new things, as well as some favorites, all of which were good. But we had more service issues. When the waitress was setting food down my husband asked for a beer and refills. She brought back a beer -- no refills for me and my sister (lemonade and tea). We all ate for a few minutes but by 615pm we were pretty much ready to leave. Our appetites had kind of gotten lost along with our waitress. During this time, a different waitress and the woman at the front began to move some tables near us. In the process, they bumped my sister with a table. They literally ran into my sister's back! And there was no apology, no "oops," absolutely nothing. They just acted like nothing had happened. What?! My husband said we should speak to a manager, to which we replied the woman that actually ran into my sister WAS the manager! By 625 no one had checked on us. My sister finally tracked our waitress down and asked her for the bill and some take home boxes. The waitress showed up at 633 with bills, but no boxes. She returned later, at 645, with the boxes we had been waiting for --now for 20 minutes! We quickly slung sushi up and paid, then left. Service was just awful today. I know they can get busy, but you can't leave customers without drinks, bump into them with tables, and just disappear altogether on them. Next time that we crave sushi, this may not be where we find ourselves (which is sad because we like this place). There are lots of sushi places in Tucson though, so since we weren't treated very well here, we may try one of these other places next time we need sushi. read more

As soon we sat down our waiter got us drinks and miso soup as soon as our drinks arrrived we submitted our order at that time it was around 645, we sat there and talked and talked more and no food, it was about 7:55 when our food arrived to our table we were hungry and upset we started eating our food first roll was a California roll it wasn't bad but it wasn't good the second roll was a salmon roll with avocado I don't remember what it was called but I made sure to get it cooked and not raw, when I got the salmon roll it's was definitely raw when I asked the waiter if it was raw she said that is what you asked for and even though I pointed out the picture and description of the roll I ordered on the menu stating that it was cooked she continued to tell me that sometimes the salmon doesn't cook all the way because of the tempura on the outside. So I started to inspect my roll and pulled out the salmon thinking I could eat the rice with the tempura, but the salmon was slime and it had a weird smell so we didn't eat it, when we went up to the register to pay we told the lady we waited for one hour before eating and she smiled and said nothing then she was charging us for two extra rolls that we never received! Half off basically all their rolls (nigiri and hand rolls included) from 11-7pm??? Where are you going to find a better deal than that?? You can go on a sushi binge without having to shovel out a fortune for all you can eat sushi. I can get 2 specialty rolls and a hand roll for the price of one roll at other sushi places. You also get free miso soup and the rolls are honestly very good. About as good as you can get for seafood in Arizona. Definitely more of a casual sushi place than upscale date night. This was the worst sushi experience I've ever had. The sushi was bad--the rolls didn't match their menu description and weren't prepared properly. The service was horrendous. I bit down on a hard piece of plastic in one of the rolls and when the waitress finally came to check in, 30 minutes later, I told her and she just said "Okay" and walked away like she was going to do something about it, but she just never came back. Someone else brought us the check, and the plastic bits were not considered in the total. Was craving sushi so I thought I'd check out one of Tucson's sushi places I hadn't been to yet. Went at 8 on a Sunday so the place was dead. This place has pretty average sushi, nothing special but it's still okay for the middle of the desert. It was on the cheaper side which is always nice. The best part was the speed and the completeness of the meal. I was seated, ordered, ate 2 sushi rolls, a salad, and miso soup, and paid all in less than 45mins. This place is bad, like for reals bad. Went with my wife to try their AYCE. As soon as we were seated at the sushi bar and saw the quality of the food and service we decided to order from the menu instead. We got a sushi boat and a couple extra rolls. Everything was frozen section of the gas station quality. The worst part: how much cream cheese they use in absolutely everything. In our time there we saw one sushi chef run through three trays of cream cheese while all the fish seating at the bar remained almost untouched. That says a lot about a sushi restaurant. I came here for the happy hour half-price sushi. The plase is very casual, not too much in the way of decorations. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and some nigiri. The price was fantastic but I thought the fish quality left something to be desired. The tuna was closer to red-pink than dark red. The spicy tuna roll was decent enough. In addition they have hand rolls which seem to be less and less common, but are my favorite. The service is pretty good, or so it has been . I am very surprised that this place has a 3.5 star overall rating. It's the desert people! For some things, especially sushi, you have to lower your standards. Even then, this place is good, desert or no desert. I love, let me repeat, love their Vegas roll with sesame seed. They coat the outside of the roll with slightly roasted sesame seeds instead of frying the roll. I love roasted sesame seeds in general (they have the best flavor) but add them to a Vegas roll and I am in heaven. It's been mentioned before and I will mention it again: best happy hour ever. The hours are long and sushi is half price. Half-price, no exceptions! All sushi falls under this deal, including Nigiri. I could say Sushi Ten offers an extreme bargain on sushi during their happy hour (which is pretty much all the time they're open, except for the biggest dinner rush) or I could say you get what you pay for. Ultimately, I don't think that "bargain sushi" is something that my body, or any town, really needs. In the past, I know they won "Best of Tucson" a few times, and I had tried to eat there but could never get a table. My friend wanted me to take him there for his birthday, even though I would have happily paid twice as much to eat at Kazoku. I disagree with the person who said you should lower your standards because this is the desert. There are many excellent sushi restaurants in Tucson, and if you can't do raw fish really well, you should not be doing it at all. There is something sort of run down about the place. Our miso, which came out immediately, was served in scratched plastic bowls. Sort of unappetizing, since it looked like the bowl would flake off into the soup. While the sushi looked OK, it just didn't taste great. Mediocre at best. The Kiss Me roll had an intensely fishy odor that I just can't associate with good sushi. The Vegas Roll, while well put together and attractive looking, had little flavor. The eel was limp and didn't seem like it had been recently cooked, and the nigiri was warm. I do not want warm raw fish! I want to feel confident that my fish has been safely prepared. Spider roll, usually my favorite, had very little crab in it--it was mostly breading. The food was definitely filling, and the service was friendly, and the price was rock bottom low, but my stomach hurt after and I experienced mild gastic distress.
