One particular lady was just a delight to chat to (actually much better English than the Fuji staff haha). But she helped us no end and talked about the products I was gazing at. Ended up buying some Bulldog Sauce and Kipwee mayo which I had been looking for. Resonably priced too. One day I will try the sushi but that will be a very hard act to follow let me tell you. But it terms of service and Japanese products the more popular ones are there; with staff willing to go out of their way to help.

For sushi pieces of 6 to be £3.50 or thereabouts it is great value and cheap sushi fare. The quality of service is great and it's seems to be growing in popularity here in terms of trade. I thought the karaage chicken at only £1.80 and individual mackerel at £1.30 is fantastic. I think the sushi rolls might appear quite ricey heavy but for price as I say is great. And you should defo get individual pieces of nigiri that focus on fish on top of rice to demonstrate on the meaty fish. Wasabi and soy is free too. Every dish tasted freshly made with fresh ingredients. The rice was cooked just right, the tempura was light and crisp and the sushi excellent. I'll definitely be returning (but have to admit that I wish Wow had opened up next to Boombar so we could have them both).

And it was good. We got avocado rolls, salmon rolls, salmon sashimi, chicken gyoza, shiso edamame and some rolls from the specials called 'ooh la la' rolls that were super good - mmm tempura prawn and avocado rolled in chives. YES. The avocado was deliciously ripe (important) and the salmon was excellent. I couldn't so much taste any shiso with the edamame but the sashimi came on a shiso leaf which I ate happily. The gyoza were good too, crisp with a flavoursome dip. The prices were really reasonable - we spent about £30 for the both of us - and it can be so easy to overspend with sushi I think. Service was friendly and we had no problems. I quite like the decor too though it seems sort of half done. It's fun, with some graffiti and the flying geese and fairy lights, then some random strip of wallpaper and animal horns and a big alien. It doesn't quite fill the space and the tables are bit sparse with fake flowers that look like they've died. I think they should forget the lame wallpaper strips and fill the walls with graffiti and throw in more lights, but the decor is less important than the food and the food was good and I'll be going back.
