We were in the area and thought we would give this place a try. We probably won't be back. We typically like to give a place at least a couple of tries, but this one will probably be one and done. We went in around 1pm for a couple apps to hold us over for dinner. I ordered a house salad and potato skins and my husband ordered 2 chicken quesadillas. Not only did my salad come out with all the apps, it had a black hair curled on the side of the bowl. The server asked if she could replace it, but I passed. The skins were very, very bland; Most of them lacked cheese and bacon. The quesadillas had a good amount of chicken, but lacked cheese. Why does a restaurant owner /manager feel that it is acceptable for staff to not wear masks during a pandemic in Florida? Several of the restaurants we visited this weekend are wearing masks. I don't care what our governor feels is right. Customers deserve safety. To have staff not wearing masks and milling around together with no distance is a disaster in the making. We will keep patronizing places that take this pandemic seriously and has staff wear masks. read more

There is no doubt that the food here is delicious. The service and the organization, however, could use some considerable improvement. As we walked in, the hostess did not greet us or even ask us if we were with the party in front of us. She simply told the other hostess "table for five". We had to tell the hostess that we were a separate party and she never smiled, greeted us or said anything other than " table or booth"? Our server was a bit short and the wait was more than what is typically acceptable. We later realized she was serving at least ten tables.... too many for one person. We got our soup after about nine minutes but over twenty minutes after we'd finished the soup to get our entres. I never got my tea refill even after I'd asked. Then, my daughter found a hair in her pasta. The server immediately took the plate and insisted on bringing another but it still left us feeling uneasy. Great food but they need some work on staffing ratios and proper communication skills with costumers while eating at the restaurant but also when walking in and walking out. For now, I'll stick to calling ahead and take my Greek salad " to go". But that hair......... 11/4/17. Service MUCH improved and food was exemplary! read more

I've been here three times. The first time, the waitress was curt but decent. Food was okay but nothing to write home about. The second time, I noticed quality had gone downhill. I'm not sure why I came back after that because the staff and the customers were surly. The tables were chipped and worn. When I pointed these things out I was invited to have police called for "disturbing the peace." Not sure why it's gone downhill. I was embarrassed for them and left before really ordering...which was totally not a loss, and I did let them know, including the management in the back who brought burly henchmen with him for backup against a middle aged disabled person and an elderly veteran, and didn't seem to want to rectify anything. The waitress with the pink streaks defended her friend, an older woman who jumped out of her chair to assault me. Craziness! Have never experienced anything like it and hope not to. No New Yorkers I know treat patrons that way, but this place was pretty classless and I told them so. read more

I ate breakfast here with my father last year right before he passed away, and the prices and food was great! No problems.. So I mentioned this place to a few friends and we went to lunch today........... the food was good some prices were a little much.. 1.98 up charge for extra cheese on our fries.. that's almost paying for half a bag of shredded cheese from the store. But when eating the food it all tasted good, but when we all left and went our separate ways each of us hours later ended up sick. One friend sick to her stomach the other running to the bathroom and myself stomach aches and bad sulfur tasting burps. I'm sorry but chicken quesadilla and cheese fries should not do that to you. All and all each of us walked out paying 20.00 to go home with stomach aches at the end of the day. Will not be returning! Update ... 4:27am still sick to stomach, although this time I had to visit the bathroom often. Super disappointed and fed up I feel like this from eating here! Friends agree ! Never ever again! Second update 1:29pm (Sunday afternoon) still sick! I hope everyone in the surrounding areas reads this ! Although the food here is very good and we always enjoyed lunch here I will no longer be patronizing this restaurant due to lack of precautions with COVID-19. Hostess greeting at the door had no mask and we didn't se hand sanitizer anywhere. Masks here are few and far between and with the explosion of covid cases we simply do not feel.safe.eating here. WHO IS SUSIE? - Not sure, but I do know the food and prices are excellent! Our first visit to Susie's Grill was very interesting and satisfying. We had passed this location numerous times in transit. This time, we decided to give it a try. Of course, I always consult YELP before attempting a new eatery! (My fiancee sometimes give me some guff about this practice, but it almost always pays off, so she is thinking she'll keep me. Whew!) Anyway, YELP reviews were positive, so into the parking lot we go! The place is your fairly typical local booth and table establishment. Very clean and modern. We were greeted promptly and cheerfully. We chose to sit at the small bar area in the back. It was near the kitchen entrance and a good place to 'people watch'. Our server Jeanette was right there, took our drink and appetizer order. We opted for the Artichoke Scampi app. What we got was nothing short of fabulous! Big chunky pieces of artichoke swimming in a garlic and butter scampi sauce. To make it even more flavorful and a complementing taste note, there were pieces of prosciutto floating around like gondolas in Venice, Italy. I found myself singing(humming) some Bugs Bunny-esque opera arias! I only wished we were in a gondola going under a bridge so I could do the obligatory kiss to my wonder woman fiancee! Bella! Bella! Wonder woman ordered the gyro salad platter, which turned out to be a large, heaping helping of happiness. She was very pleased with the entire meal. I ordered the Greek salad. It was as terrific as I had hoped it would be. I guess it's pretty hard to go wrong with this item, and they surely didn't let me down. We were fortunate enough to meet Pam, one of the owners. She was extremely pleasant and didn't seem in a rush to get away! LOL. We felt she was genuinely interested in meeting us, hearing our lame jokes and making us feel welcomed. We can safely say we have found a new place to add to our 'GO TO' list of regular restaurants. Be prepared to save Susie's Grill as a FAVORITE into your GPS! read more

Wow! Great place. The decor is nice and the food was great! Sunday AM, this place was slamming. We were quickly seated and the waitress was very attentive. I ordered standard breakfast items, eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. Besides the eggs (scrambled) being slightly under cooked, they nailed it. If you can't do the basics, I'm not going to explore your menu. I can't wait to go back to try something else or come back at a later time to explore the dinner menu. .....and the coffee was the best "restaurant coffee" I have ever had. --- 2 more visits later and I'm still impressed. Still nothing bad to say about the food. Slight negative is today's home fries were a little lack luster. --- Latest visit... Dinner time. I tried the bacon cheeseburger. Meh. I just went to try to ask for a menu so that I can see what's on the menu because it's my first time and just by looking at the restaurant, it looks very dark, cold and dirty, the waitress with the spike hair and the tattoos it looks like a man just passed by me and didn't even say I'll be with you in a minute sir, the other lady old lady came out of the bathroom she looked at me and she kept on going by the bar the other one the saw me before that when in the kitchen came back out in the kitchen and I started talking to the lady that came out of the bathroom. Meaning customer service is disgusting. They don't even say hello. I'll be with you in a minute never again if I was the owner, I will fire the whole staff. They don't have no personality whatsoever. It is a shame to have a restaurant like that, and have all people that I don't know what is professionalism and good service. Oh my gosh!!! This is a wonderful place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner!!! The food is excellent, the portions are huge and the staff is friendly. Their omelets are 3 eggs with a large variety of add ins from Italian sausage, Kielbasa, ham, onion, mushrooms, etc and all kinds of cheeses. The home fries were amazing, crisp on the outside soft and fluffy on the inside, seasoned well. My friend got the hashbrowns and they were cooked perfectly. We've had other breakfast dishes including the benedicts and biscuits and gravey, all have been wonderful. The gyro platter is a large plate including a Greek salad, pita, gyro meat a wonderful tzatziki sauce and really good Greek dressing, their fries are very good. Their soups are homemade and you never know what will be on the menu but if you like clam chowder they have some of the best this side of Boston (and yes I've had chowder in Boston...LOL) Dinner is wonderful we've had many of the Italian dishes and have never been disappointed, flavors are excellent, portions are very large and the bread is divine..... We've been coming here for the past several years, yes sometimes we get a waitress that is not "perky" but if you have ever been a waiter or waitress you understand that some days are just tough and normally when we respond with kindness and cheerfulness people respond in kind. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good food at a decent price and they have a bar if that is of interest to you. My husband and I go to Susie's at least once a week. The breakfast is absolutely the best. You are given so much food and the prices are unbelievable. I have had their breakfast but I am not one for breakfast food. I love the triple decker sandwiches. Turkey and especially tuna club. It is less expensive than the Breakfast club. Also the best coffee I have had in the three years that I have been in Florida. Coming from NY and being Italian I tend to stay away from anything with red sauce/gravy. I went there for lunch on a late Friday afternoon. They were not busy at all but The waitress was rude. I ordered a salad with tomato and chicken salad in the center no dressing no sides and within 1 hour of eating I got deathly sick. It's been 2 weeks and I'm still sick. I went to eat at this diner with my sister. We were in a booth and the waitress sat someone behind me... When I went to pay I asked her about it. She said to me "we try but sometimes it gets crowded". So that means if it's crowded they disregard the 6 feet distancing. Not good considering we can't eat with our mask on. read more

It had been some time since I'd been to Susie's Grill. They had the BEST liver & onions! Yum!!! Not this time though. :( I was so ready to be back in Spring Hill and get it again. I called in a pick-up order: Liver & Onions, mashed potatoes, gravy and an extra gravy, an order of their great green beans. all of which will come with salad, roll, butter. I was told 10-15 minutes. Really? I got there in 12 minutes and the order was at the check-out ready to go. Total was just under $20. ?, which I thought was a bit high but prices have gone up on most everything. Got home to find containers for everything I'd ordered. Liver, one piece slightly larger than my hand was overdone, dry and black with onions that were hardly cooked on top and most were onion white and crunchy. Mashed potatoes about the size of my computer mouse with a small amount of gravy that just covered them. The extra gravy container had maybe 3 tablespoons of gravy in it.?? The green beans container was full with lots of garlic pieces but had very little taste. The salad had iceberg lettuce pieces, 3 cucumber chunks and 2 slices of tomato. The roll and butter were fine. All in all, a very disappointing meal. Not many restaurants offer liver and onions on their menu, but I will certainly not be back to Susie's for it. I went to Susie's grille with mixes results . The server was new but that was ok she was very attentive but needs to,learn to listen . We ordered a ginger ale and came back with seltzer water and then told us they do not have ginger ale . Appetizers were good loaded potatoes and stuffed mushroom . I order a cheese burger club and was very good . Had side of coleslaw which was small and insulting 2 spoonfuls at the most. The problem was the country fried steak no white gravy just a side of dark beef gravy for mashed potatoes she told me country fried steak is never made with gravy and said I was wrong. She then said they have sausage gravy at breakfast and other gravy till 5 pm where they only have dark gravy . Very disappointing . Bill came she wrote up 2 bills and they were not added .had to go to cashier to pay ( pet peeve I think server should handle that.
