I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The very first thing we noticed when we walked in was how clean the place smelled. The decor has a 70s Italian family restaurant vibe as far as decor. We loved it! It was very clean, nicely kept up, we were greeted as soon as we walked in and sat right away. Staff was friendly and very prompt. The prices were great, the options were plenty. The waitress recommended a few items and we both decided on a burger. The burgers are 1/2 lb, fresh never frozen and cooked to your desired temp. It was delicious! I got the Cowboy BBQ Onion burger, and opted for the onion rings. Boy was I glad I did. Beer battered onion rings. DELICIOUS!!! It was so good that we came back the next day. Next day, the poor waitress was on her own and slammed, but she did a great job keeping up with everything, and the back of the house even came out to give her a hand. Great teamwork! Great food! I've done a review for Franks before but I'll do one again. We used to frequent Franks quite a bit. At first, under new ownership, it was great. The food was quality, delicious and plentiful. Fish night was all you can eat! I always ordered the clam strips or chicken tenders. Several months later we noticed the food didn't taste as fresh as before. Maybe they changed their recipes. There was a lot more breading on the chicken strips than there was chicken. The clam strips, which were dipped into a light batter seemed to have more tiny pieces of crunchy batter than clam strips. The last time we went, we heard about a lot of violations and issues with the owner and staff. We haven't been back since. Franks was great in the beginning, then tapered off to... meh. read more

The service is good. The food was partially good. Had the ribs which were the special. A couple things about food quality. The baked potato was as if it was leftover from previous days. The side of coleslaw was fine. The apple sauce... odd flavor. First impressions are important. There was a "pile" of cigarette butts at the first step. The outside looks ignored. There were less than 10 tables of customers. In the past, Saturday night was a slight wait. I know the restaurant has changed ownership. First, Michael a gentleman that works there, was right at the door to help brings residents in and when we left to help them out. Beth, was fantastic! She was our waitress and had all the food out quickly and made sure all drinks were always filled. Alissa was very helpful taking everyone's drink order when we first got there. None of the residents had ever been here before and they all raved about the food and service. Beth went above and beyond and treated the resident with such respect. I'll post picture of a raw, suppose to be blackened fish sandwich... it ended up in the garbage because nobody would even taste it. How disappointing Frank is NOT there anymore so STAY AWAY, Mac D's is an upgrade from the stuff they're serving. They could have explain that Franks Famous Fish Sandwich was the nastiest in town. Had a party of six and I ordered the "all you can eat" fish. The fish is Swai (I found out later) which is not recommended for human consumption (it is farm raised in Vietnam and imported as "Asian Catfish") . It was heavily breaded and slightly overcooked. I finished the two pieces I was served and asked the server for two more. It took about thirty minutes to get the two pieces of overcooked fish. But by then the rest of my party had finished eating and was ready to go. The server (I think) did her best to get the additional fish but apparently the kitchen had other ideas. I left the server a generous tip as I didn't believe it was her fault. With the mediocre quality of the food, the slowness of the kitchen and the general lack of cleanliness of the restaurant itself, I doubt we will return. We are very disappointed. read more

We must have passed by this place a hundred times with the intention to stop, and after church Sunday was the date we got to finally see why the parking lot is always full. Hubby had his go-to French Dip and I tried a Tuna Melt. Both sandwiches were served with coleslaw, which tasted homemade. Prices were extremely reasonable and service was very good. This place has now become our favorite for food that's almost like our kitchen. Updated for a dinner review - hubby tried the pot roast and I tried the chicken fried steak dinner specials. Both came with soup or salad - I chose the salad - and a "complimentary" dessert. To say we were disappointed would be accurate- both in food quality and amount, and service didn't warrant a ten percent tip at all. I had to ask several times for butter and sour cream for my baked potato, which arrived after it was cold. Amount of pot roast for my husband was sampler - not dinner sized portion. Drinks weren't refilled and I would have loved a to go cup to take my unsweetened tea home. The desserts were a joke - the cake slice could not have been thinner and ice cream was a styrofoam Dixie cup size. Next time Cracker Barrel for us - we left feeling as hungry as we arrived. Ordered take out chicken wings. Restaurant is small quaint expecting a disco event later tonight. Parking lot was packed so that says a lot. One line to get a table check out or pick up your orders that system can be improved. Wings were great. Will come back to have a fu Came back for dinner arrived at 4 pm. The fish and shrimp combination was very good! A nice combination but I wish they would let you have a side that was not fried - like a small salad or a veggie. Fries seem to come with so many meals, and sometimes seniors don't need all that fried food. Otherwise we enjoyed our visit here. The second time here from Michigan and not the last. read more

I started out to writing a blistering review. But the level of service Vinnie provided definitely bought them a few stars. It was rough right from the start. Walked in to half the restaurant empty (13 tables, I counted) and a line of people pretty much out the door waiting for a table or a to go order. People waiting for a table were made to wait while the to go orders were brought to the front. The host was grumpy and on edge. Clearly doing something he wasn't ready for, or for some other reason lost in the weeds. He was irritating enough for me to get my phone out and start writing a review that accurately explained all the ways we had been mistreated. Not the least of which was a half empty restaurant making me wait for 30 minutes for a table. Things were generally dusty, and the ambiance hasn't changed in the years since they've opened. I don't think the menu has ever changed either. Ultimately the food is a known quantity. Nothing particularly high end. Standard greasy spoon fare (fried steak, hamburgers, pork chops etc). The veggies tend to be warmed up in a microwave and from a can. Not terrible. Generally quick. Decently priced. Always has an open table. You go there knowing it's not run by Gordon Ramsay. The fish fry is probably the best thing going. They do it well. And almost always get it right. This night I ordered the country fried steak. All three of us got the same entree with different sides (cottage cheese, tomato's, fries, mashed, soup, salad, sauté mushrooms, The steak is a cheap cut, but well cooked and seasoned. The sizes were inconsistent across the table. The one who ordered mushrooms as a side in addition to the mushrooms that come with the dish, only got one order of mushrooms. Everything else was fine. Nothing spectacular, but nothing (other than the host) offensive either. Vinnie made us laugh and forget our aggravation. He fixed issues as they came up and kept our drinks full. Our food came out quick and hot. Our salads were fresh and well dressed. All in all Vinnie made us feel heard and appreciated. The host situation though, I think they have too few people doing too many things. Maybe if they had another person up there then we would have been able to get the table in a half empty restaurant a bit faster. Perhaps assigning a waitress or bar tender to help with to go orders and shift that responsibility off the host. Who seems like he needs a vacation. Or maybe he's just not great at his job. Or maybe it had been a bad night and we reaped the benefits of his newly found maladroit manner. All in all Vinnie is the reason I rated this dinner as highly as I did. If you eat there ask for him. He's good. Maybe the best thing going at franks right now. read more

I've eaten at Frank's twice now; once with a party of 7, once with my girlfriend. Both times have been phenomenal; great food and excellent service! The atmosphere was what you'd expect of this kind of restaurant. Very comfortable, perfectly lit to set the tone. All around great! A few key notes: * The stuffed mushrooms are great! Definitely in my top five stuffed mushrooms. * The menu design is the epitome of menus. No more than three different fonts; clear information, no useless pictures. The only thing I'd say about the menu is that there's so much going on with it. Way too many options. Stick to your guns and offer a fine Italian menu. Keep the kids menu but lessen the different entrees and sandwiches. That can't be good for inventory cost to have so many different dishes. Condense, keep the entree menus with courses, offer more pastas, ect. * The staff are all extremely professional and welcoming; both times there the service has been out of this world. * Frank's somehow has the best unsweetened tea haha. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. How can you mess that up, well you can. The celery was cut in very large pieces , I'm talking huge. I couldn't eat all of it , taking out the chunky celery. I love this neighborhood bar and grill! Franks has great comfort food for great prices. Also ask your server about the entertainment nights- I know Mondays is music bingo and one day they have Trivia- all free to play! Great host runs the shows Their potato skins (3 in an order) and mozzarella sticks are great, sandwiches good and wings meaty. I also like their burgers. Classic good ol' bar burgers. Doesn't matter how you say you want it cooked, they'll probably all come out medium well - but its doesn't matter the meat is tasty on the classic buttery bun with a nice slice of tomato and lettuce.
