I've given Sutherlands two chances. There will not be a third. I went into Sutherland to try to find a house plant I was told by an employee that I could go look but plants are out of season. Try telling that to Southwood Landscape, Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware etc. all still have beautiful flowers and plants. Indoor plants thrive all year around! I go to the graveyard aka: the garden section and there was nothing but unhealthy, forgotten plants. It was like the island of rejected toys except they were plants that were either dead or one fallen leaf away from it. Crispy, burnt, dry ... the poor things. Outside garden area was unkept with more unhealthy plants that hadn't been watered for months probably. If u want healthy plants do not go there in July. I can't speak for the rest of the year - but July is a no go. To me Sutherlands feels empty, echoey. I noticed both times going that a lot of the items have a layer of dust. I mean if you live close to the location and your pipe burst and your house if flooding with water and u need duct tape and it's an emergency... sure go there. But other than an emergency, I suggest going to one of the other hardware stores. read more

Some of the rudest employees, I feel like I can't ask any questions. Asked for help finding something and was just directed in the direction, no help no one came with me, If I could find it alone I would of not asked. I left without purchasing because I couldn't find it. Tried to have a key made she said they couldn't do it because the key I picked out didn't work, instead of saying pick another lol I just went to Lowe's Not to mention they have almost no selection in most things I need, so I have you go elsewhere anyways Rude customer service! read more

25 years of shopping experience at this store. Pros: Convenience over busy crowded big box stores Just big enough to find everything you'd find in a big box store. Cons: Price is a lot higher than other stores. No Product selection- While they do have about 1 of everything that's it and probably has been sitting there for awhile. Employees are not friendly or helpful. For some reason at this store, employees seem extra put off asking for help. maybe be attributed to the fact, they do not have air conditioning or heating in the store which is uncomfortable. Good luck trying to get help or answers on products. There's been a few rare helpful employees over the years that i've shopped there that have actual hardware knowledge or least about the products they carry but the majority are clueless or worse pretend to know. Which i'd rather have them tell me they don't know than what usually happens is they look at the product you have question about and just make up answers. Store atmosphere: very difficult to navigate or find stuff. very uncomfortable! if you have to be in there for long. they don't use a/c or heating. Worth noting, recently in the last two years, they've shifted into selling furniture and an eclectic assortment of furnishings. Nothing wrong with that but they seem to be shifting even further away from hardware/ gardening specialty to home furnishings possibly due to the hurt of sales by local competition. read more

I would've given it zero stars if I could've. I found the staff extremely rude. Here's the story: my friend went into store to purchase a outdoor faucet cover. She asked were they were. the cashier said they were on isle 4. My friend came back to the cashier stating she couldn't find it. Cashier then said we must be out. And it's ignored my friend from this point on. I looked online at their particular store and the item we wanted was in stock. I went in the store I asked the same woman where they were located she said we don't have any because somebody was here and didn't find any. I told her that I looked online and the Internet stated there were in stock. Unknown to me the floor manager was behind me and proceeded to check the isle and found the item. called on the intercom to the cashier asking how many I wanted and brought the item up to the counter. I found the cashier, and floor manager strongly lacking social skills. I have worked in customer relations for over 30 years and I've never found people as Rude and his lack of customer care skills in my entire lifesaver these people were. They need remedial class in customer relations. I will not be shopping at this store in future read more

Not sure how the clientele would effect the store rating from the previous person.? But, I found this store to be great! They could add to their RV supplies. They were pretty slim when I went.
