Took my lawnmower to this shop for repairs it felt like it didn't have no power when using the…read moresself-propelled-i wanted my electric start to work when I turn the key have the blade sharpened oil change they bought the lawnmower out it started up with the key so I assumed that it was fixed I waited until the weekend to cut my grass while cutting my grass I noticed oil leaking onto the bottom of my lawnmower come to find out my oil wasn't changed it was a blackish grey color so that means that they lied and didn't change oil and when I got ready to start the lawnmower with the key the starter kept turning they didn't fix the lawnmower so I took it back to them and they called me and said it was ready they come from the side of the building with the lawnmower running and then cuts the lawnmower off so this time I turn the key it starts up but kind of hasitate and then starts but when I get it home to cut the grass the starter doesn't work so I took it to another shop I will give the name of shop more later after I get my lawnmower back from the other shop we'll e back to my story the other shop called me and said that my oil hasn't been changed my starter had a bearing missing that's why it wouldn't start why that other shop couldn't figure that out and the blade wasn't sharpened I don't recommend raytown lawnmower and parts to fix anything that rolls on wheels it took them almost a month to fix my lawnmower I had the shop and tell them I'm coming to pick up my lawnmower after having it for so long don't go there for service ​​

And by that I mean I drool at the site of a monumental hanging basket like some people ogle over a good bottle of wine. Something about the burst of colors and smells and the overall smile that flowers bring to your face is special to me. So finding this gem made my day! The prices are average to higher for some items, but the quality is far surpassed by your regular old big box store. For instance, a half dried out large fern at Home Depot will run $14.99 but a gorgeous full fern that is miraculously all green will run you $29 here so as the old adage goes, you pay for what you get I suppose! My haul consisted of two gorgeous hanging baskets (for the moms), several begonias and trailing purple beauties for my front concrete planter, some basil for my herb planter, a large cherry tomato plant (already with 50+ tomatoes on it!) and a few mixed pots for landscaping. Super happy I found this hidden gem just south of Noland Road...5 minutes from civilization!

I've been following Colonial Gardens on social media for a while and they have some fun events . I…read morefinally made it to one, plant bingo. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was so fun, that I attended a second time in the same month. The event is held in their greenhouse, which makes the perfect backdrop for this event. You play three rounds of bingo with three cards each round, and each game has one plant prize, so one winner. There's a Plant Bar serving cocktails and popcorn, plus a coffee shop on site with small bites available during the event. Jessica, the events coordinator, is friendly and fun. After all games are played you have time to shop. I went during January and there wasn't an abundance of plants and flowers, but I'm looking forward to spring to check out the greenhouse when it is blooming.

There are some very friendly good people there, but trying to find the tool or part needed frequently ends in going someplace else. We are in the middle of remodeling a home, so our visits are frequent and many times we aren't exactly sure what to get. And there are some great equally helpless staff to point us to the wrong solution. There are things the Lowe's has. Craftsman tools and some parts, for instance. And there are things they don't, like the proper wide replacement bracket for a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan that probably was purchased there. It's like a darker version of HD. Literally, it feels darker and less friendly, as odd as that sounds. The comparison applies to the staff as well, where the guy in the plumbing isle at Lowe's can lethargically point you in general to the location of some of the parts, the guy in the plumbing isle at HD can brightly describe exactly how to solve your problem backed by 40 years of master plumbing experience he recently retired from. Sure, we frequent Lowe's. It's conveniently located. And in general, a 2x4 is a 2x4, and a dry wall screw is a dry wall screw.

I recently had ankle fusion surgery so I am re-learning how to walk, meaning I have to use a walker and can't walk long distance yet. Upon arriving, there were no motorized carts available. We entered right by the customer service desk, so I stopped and asked about them in case they were located at a different entrance. Mind you, I have a giant orthopedic boot & walker, but the woman still looked at me like I was a lazy POS & said "we only have one so someone must have it," then rolled her eyes and turned away from us. I started the long-for-me walk to the lighting section and had to stop part way to rest. Fortunately, some other customer had seen fit to open up a package of folding chairs nearby, so I was able to sit down for a few minutes and rest. At this point a nice young lady who worked there came by and asked if I needed help, and I explained the motorized cart situation. She was aghast and said she would go find it. She recruited a young man to help, and they found it out in the parking lot. The young man drove the cart to me and things went fine from the there.

I had occasion today to visit Heartland Nursery this morning. I have heard from a number of people…read morethat they are essentially "out of inventory" as they plan sell their business around the June time frame. I was shocked when I saw how much inventory they have in stock. I had occasion to speak with Sam the owner and told him that I kept hearing from people that they were essentially out of stock. He said to me they have more inventory this year than they have had in the history of the company. He was very kind given the circumstances. The items we purchased were marked down 25%.  I just wanted to relay this to let you know that their nursery is robust, and Sam stated they have plenty more inventory coming in!!!
