Unsanitary!!!! It's Gone Downhill in terms of cleanliness and customer service. Omg - if you'd like to come down with head lice, a skin infection or Covid this is the place for you! Even though Covid is rampant, as are other respiratory diseases right now, the woman that waited on me was not wearing a mask. Her breath was terrible and it's just good practice when you're working that closely in a clients face to be covered and wear a mask if you're professional. The chair I sat in was not wiped down or sanitized and there are there pink pillows that they use for you to lean back on and rest your head. They're very Used, dirty, not sanitized, not covered, and there were some pretty gross people ahead of me, getting their eyebrows done using the same pillows. To Make matters worse the woman did not wash her hands or sanitize them in between clients! I think the Board of Health needs to make a visit as things here have seriously changed. On top of it, all the customer service has changed. There was no eyebrow massage with cream afterwards as there had been in the past, there was no holding up a hand mirror to have me check my brows to see if I was happy with the color and contour, Absolutely nothing other than "this is how much we want to charge you". I came here as a new client and thought the customer service was pretty good. I got a level 2 lash set and was a disappointment with the outcome. She removed my old set which was a D curl and never asked what kind of curl I wanted. I told her i wanted a classic set and she did mini fans. When i opened my eyes i knew something didn't seem right. She put C curl lashes on, which i did not want but she never asked and I assumed she would but the same of what I previously had. UPDATE: I went back and got them filled 2 weeks later. The same girl glued some of my natural lashes down into my eye!!! I also had clumps of lashes clued together making it painful and looking terrible. I called and went back the next day for her to fix it but not even a week later the lashes we all clumped together again and large chunks fell out. read more

The skill of their technicians is way too inconsistent. I have had some good experiences here with brow threading and tint, but on other separate occasions I have been burned. Literally. Once with an eyelash lift and tint, the solution was left on too long and all my eyelashes broke and fell off. I did brow lamination with a different technician, same issue... I lost my eyebrows completely. This time with a new eyelash technician I spent over 2 hours getting my lashes done, had my natural lashes pulled out and eyelids poked multiple times, only to have the extensions start falling out in large clumps the very next day (also not my first time having extensions, I have never had an uncomfortable experience like that before and am well versed with how to care for them). I went for the first time to do brow lamination and tint. I also wanted to tint my lashes. First, my brows were not shaped and the tint started with some brows not tinted below to almost give the illusion of my brows starting higher in the front. I also was convinced that med brown was better for me so that it doesn't look so harsh on me but my hair is dark brown. It looked a little reddish to me when I was done and not the look I was going for. I wish I would have taken a picture but once I got home from my appt I immediately wiped it all off as much as I could take off. I rather keep filling in my brows daily then do this again from this place. I saw on Tik Tok someone tinting their eyebrows with henna so I think I'll try that myself. I came in for eyebrow threading. Unfortunately the employee threading took far too much hair away and I was left with thin brows, when I walked in with thick brows and just wanted a clean up. She never asked any questions to clarify what I wanted. When she showed me with a mirror I was speechless. She did offer to tint complementary which helped some but I left very disappointed and it will take me months to grow back my brows to what they were. read more

I've been here enough times now to feel I can leave an honest review. I've been to both the Belmar and the Shrewsbury location, but prefer the Belmar location more since I can get my hair done at a place nearby and do my brows at the same time. As far as threading and tinting, I had a bad allergic reaction the first time I came, which resulted in me having chemical burn on one of my brows. I contacted the manager, who was really nice and worked with me to find a solution. She made some recommendations on what would help ease the pain and she also checked in on me, which was very much appreciated. In regards to just the threading, the girl that helped me did a good job shaping mine and making sure they're even. On one visit, I got a lash lift, and although the girl was extremely friendly and did an excellent job, her breath was so bad that I almost couldn't make it through the session. If you're going to be inches away from someone's face, you should make sure hygiene is up to par. I would come back to Sutra for more lash work, but I'd make sure that I'm taken care of by someone else. read more

I've been a customer here on and off for a while now. I hate to write this review as most of the women who work here are extremely sweet. What brought me to write this review was my recent experience here, I got my lashes done and they fell off 2 days later, my eyes looked like I hadn't gotten a fill in 4 weeks. I know lashes shed daily, so I got a fill and the same thing happened again within a few days, I called the salon and someone insisted I'd need to pay for a 1 week fill. I refused to pay the fill price since the lashes were done poorly. I was able to get a fix up with a different tech, but the issue remains. With that being said, my negative review isn't towards the techs, but more towards the owners. The techs that I have encountered lack experience, as someone who knows how to do lashes, I know how difficult lashing could be, which is why I never blame the techs. I have had my bottom lashes glued to my top lashes at my last 3 appointments. Separating them is an extremely uncomfortable experience. I have multiple lashes that are stuck together and it is painful as they grow out. I am someone who does lash shampoos and maintains my lashes in an appropriate way. The prices that are being charged at Sutra are prices that lash techs who have MULTIPLE years of experience charge. We are test subjects for girls who are starting out in the industry and the health of my lashes are suffering due to this. There is so much more that I can add BUT management needs to provide more training to their techs or adjust their prices based on the level of experience their techs have. I have attached photos of my lashes that were done TWO weeks ago. It's frustrating to pay $75 for a fill every 3 weeks and look like I haven't had my lashes done in months. read more

I came here a few weeks ago to get my eyebrows done. She asked me if I wanted them thinner, I said yes, it felt super sensitive! When I wdent outside in the car to inspect my brows in the light, I noticed she pinched my skin close to my eye where it had a little bruise (not pictured bc these are a week and a half later). Went back inside to see if she can tell me how to get rid of the bruise as I was going on vacation in the morning. She was with another customer so u waited. As I looked at my brows in my camera on my phone,I noticed one was significantly shorter than the other. Half my brow was missing, she didn't even say anything about it. When I finally confronted her on it, she said I told you your eye brow was short and you didn't say to leave it alone. My eyebrows were the same length on both sides that morning. I went in for a lash lift/tint and eyebrow lamination. The lash lift went well, but the eyebrow lamination was a total bust. Having never had my brows laminated, I wasn't sure what to expect. They seemed to be okay when I left, but after 48 hours, when I realized I'd not known what to look for, I could clearly see my mistake. There was absolutely no significant difference between how my brows looked when I arrived vs when I left. A total waste of money on that front. I'd say that sutra is good for a lash lift/tint and for eyebrow threading, but I would never get lamination from them again. read more

I wanted to like this place because the first I came here my lashes were done pretty decently but the second time I came here it was a disaster ! I got a level 3 fill and we all love a little extra lashes but it was just too much! These lashes were not originally made, they premade with a huge fan of lashes on each lash that was applied. The girl got glue in my eye. It was an over abundance of lashes applied to the point where I felt them, they were super heavy and way too much glue it felt like huge clumps. She applied the lashes on my skin!!!!. I have never had a reaction to lashes but my eye blew up. I was in so much pain it was swollen and red from getting glue in my eye. It's been a week since I had them done and my eye is still in pain and red. I had to get some lashes removed because it was on my skin. I walked in and literally nobody greeted me. Nobody ask acknowledged the fact that I was there until I said "hi." I had an appointment but she seemed to be in a rush. I had a very unpleasant experience at SUTRA brow & lash. I decided to try this place for a lash lift and tint due to close proximity to my house. This turned out to be a huge mistake... I have receive numerous lash lifts and tints and have never experienced the same amount of pain and stinging. Naureen was extremely unprofessional and told me I was "immature" and had "no pain tolerance" (I get Brazilians once a month.. I have a pain tolerance!) and was not sympathetic towards my pain and discomfort. When I asked how long the lift would last she said "I think" 6-8 weeks and did not seem sure. She did not talk me through her process and I was very confused about the products she was applying to my eyes. Not to mention the service cost over $100 with tip. The result was mediocre and I am unconfident that it is going to last. Do not come here for a lash lift or tint. There are better places in the area (Sola Salons is my usual). I am from Pa and I live here in Jersey for school so I needed to get my brows done. I looked high and low for a place to go, this one had some of the best reviews. Despite getting my eyebrows threaded at home for $10 I decided to spend $20 since the reviews were so great and I could not find anything cheaper. VERY disappointed. The lady was very nice but nothing she did was worth $20. I left and it was dark in there I couldn't really see my results but in the car I saw she missed hairs and my face had cut marks on it. Let me start off by saying I personally thought my eyebrows were not salvageable. I had many of my friends refer me to this particular location (shrewsbury), and I am glad I listened. I was sweetly greeted from the moment I walked in through the time I left. I did the eyebrow threading with the complimentary tint. Booked for: eyebrow threading[clean up] and volume lash 2wk fill +clean threading look [it can be a little worrisome going to a new threader, you never know if they'll get thread happy and how the shape might turn out] +was able to book appointment over phone [called 1wk in advance] +it can be tough to have to do a fill over someone else's work so she matched it to the best of her ability -fill service was at best 30min long and seemed rushed or uncared for [probably because I am from out of town and clearly would not be a repeat every single month customer] -awkward environment [again probably since out of town and not a local] -booked the appointment and asked if I could do threading first just to not mess with the lashes but they said it didn't matter and the fill would need to be done first [my eyes tear up during threading and didn't want the tears to mess with the glue] -^this caused the lashes to stick together so fast and the glue was chunky and noticeable, no time to fix so i just left after Overall, I was in dire need of getting a fill since I was not going back home for almost a month so this was alright and at least my lashes didn't have the look of half the lashes missing. They still looked natural. It was not worth the price and it really wasn't as full as it would be at my usual place. I still tipped high because it could have been worse and I feel if I was more of a regular then it would be better long term so if you are in the area I would try it and give it a couple months and go from there. I can say that I have never had a worse experience that I have had at this place. there are a few people who know what they are doing however I did not receive that experience today when I went in at 9 AM. on the website I booked someone that I had previously seen who I knew would do a good job and was never told that they were not available at that time. when I went in the woman doing my eyebrows completely change the shape did not listen and it was a horrible experience. When I got my lashes lifted the first time, my one eye was irritated and watering so much, getting everything to stick took a while and for some reason that eye curled kinda kinky and the other one did not curl as much (I guess it got less attention), leaving me with uneven lashes. BUT, I called a few days later and they told me to come in for a touch up (free of charge) and a different tech did the whole process again and my lashes came out perfect. Much better experience my second time around with almost no watery eyes so 100% ask for Irene, so nice and very careful (which is important with anything near your eyes). I always love coming here, have been for a year on and off but I always come back. Recently though my lashes have been subpar. I had a fill not to long ago and my one lash was bothering me and kept getting stuck. So I managed to wiggle it out and this is the messy clump that came out.
