On October 24, 2025, I arrived around 9:45 a.m. for same day surgery at noon, and was promptly greeted and competed registration. Everyone from the security guard going forward wee competent,knowledgeable and courteous. The same day nurses Natasha and Lindsay were kind and patient. It was nice that they allowed two of my family members to stay with me until shortly before my scheduled surgery. The surgical staff were all incredible! I felt well cared for from check in to check out. My only concern is the lack of mask use by the majority of staff, so minus one star there. All surgical suite staff wore masks! read more

We have had to go to the ER multiple times over the past several years and have found the drs and nurses at Sutter Novato Community Hospital to be outstanding. We live in Petaluma and no longer go to PVH because of the endless poor experiences there over many years. Our experiences with 3 out of 4 ER doctors we've seen at NCH have included compassion, patience and efficiency. Most of the ER nurses are hard working and caring. Wait times have been significantly short (only one 5 hour visit that even they were alarmed by). Some people do not understand that ER visits can be long due the severity of symptoms of other patients - it's not first come first served - Or that costs are higher when tests, imaging and medications are immediate. NCH ER is usually not busy (in our experiences) and we are grateful for the rapid and professional care our family has received. read more

I will never go to this facility in my life! I went to this place on February because I been feeling pain my heart, and problem of breathing. I spend one hour, they did X-ray, took my blood test, ask couple of questions, more Covid related. AND I SAW THE DOCTOR/PHYSICIAN FOR 5 min MAx. An hour after he came and said that my results are good, and I am just tired. He did not give me any medicine, or provide anything to help with my heart pain. 3 weeks later I am getting bills...$7,200 for emergency roon, $740 for physician, $24 for XRay picture, and 3 months later, $43 lectrogram report. Where the F they got these numbers? What did they provide me with to come out with this? What did physician do for $720? And how come for just sitting in a bed for less then an hour waiting for results I have to pay $7,200? This is a robbery! Thu system SUCKS! I hate Sutter Health, shame on them! And to get someone to explain the bill was IMPOSSIBLE! No one knows where the F these numbers coming from Never will I ever go to shutter health emergency room. I walked into Sutter hospital. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I walked into Sutter hospital in the end stages of labor and delivered a 10.5 pound baby in the hallway. Tasha's child was in the nicu. She watched from the doorway and when I screamed and blacked out she had to turn away because she thought I was dead. We don't know when Jaxon was born. There was no clock in the hallway. His face was navy blue and my voice didn't return for days. I walked into Sutter hospital as an MFT Trainee. I worked hard. For free. I was given positive performance reviews. I wasn't invited back as an AMFT; their insurance wouldn't allow an AMFT to work there uncompensated. I walked into Sutter GI unit looking for help. My client worked there. She saw me and never returned as my client. I walked into Sutter hospital with my face ripped apart. Bicycle helmet fractured and still attached to my head. Receptionist looked dazed and confused as she asked "what happened?" They left Anthony in the waiting room. In the trauma bay faces swirled together as I went in and out of consciousness. 9 in the room, 2 in the hallway. All moving so fast. My clothes can off but they still somehow didn't realize the tendons in my knee ripped. It took days and a trip to urgent care to find that damage. My teeth were fractured on the pavement. Never to be seen again. Vanity bones. I prefer them attached to my skull. High and numb the nurse apologizing as she dug gravel out of my face I told her not to worry; I couldn't feel anything. No concussion protocol. No follow up with neuro. No imaging. A prescription for narcotics that Walgreens refused to fill. I smiled for the camera as Anthony and I joked that I would look pretty again someday. I worried about how my children would react to my face. Everyone in the waiting room had been horrified. We brought the broken helmet home and ran over it with the car to make sure no one accidentally tried to use it. When the neighbor found me in the street he offered to call 911 but I said 'no, call my husband.' Nerve damage, fractured skull, fractured vertebrae, weakness of my left side, daily pain. I walked into Sutter asking for help. My insurance said they would pay for my teeth if deemed medically necessary. I wanted a letter written. Dr Rushton-Miller said "oh honey, front teeth are not medically necessary." I cried in the car. The root of my tooth shattered. Dr Ford carefully removed it and sent me home to rest. I cried. I was breastfeeding. I didn't take the narcotics. After six months of healing an implant was placed. It was necessary or I would lose more teeth plus the structural integrity of my jaw would be compromised. I went back in and the bone density was tested. It was what they expected. Confused they sent their machine for calibration. That's when at home the shards of my upper jaw started to eject themselves from my gums. I went back in. They opened the flap to find I needed a bone graft. It took longer than anticipated so the Novocain wore off twice. Six months of healing. I went back in and the machine said my implant was strong enough. A crown was attached. I had two front teeth again. A week later I was sent to work from home. Covid-19 was rapidly becoming a global pandemic. Work from home with two kids. That's a funny concept. 435 days I worked from home. I told Sutter how I was suffering. They prescribed amphetamines. I don't have ADHD. I took the amphetamines. My life slowly unraveling around me. Medical bills stacking up. At least I was "pretty" again...... I walked into Sutter hospital with pain in my foot. Three unnecessary surgeries later the doctor suggested that I didn't follow his orders and probably had foot cancer; surgery #4 was warranted. I said no more surgery without an MRI. It took a week. The MRI was clear. It was a plantars wart. He removed my tissue down to the muscle. I spent a month on a foot scooter. I fell off the foot scooter at work. Triggering migraines and ripping off my toe nail. I stayed sober. I have to be sober or I can't work. That's the rule. I love my job. I love my family. I love myself. What did I do to deserve this? I found a new podiatrist. He diagnosed a plantars wart. Zapped it with a laser. It started to die. Sleep deprived in immense pain, dehydrated, I detached from reality. I was taken to Sutter urgent care. They diagnosed a bone infection. Sent me home on antibiotics. I shouted in the lobby. It's too racist here! The automatic sinks are garbage! I want to leave. People looked. I didn't care. I was confused. The hallway I gave birth in was gone. We were in a different building. Mark West Springs Rd. Airway Dr. The floor plans and design are similar. I asked for a complete copy of my medical record. I was denied. I filed a complaint with my insurance. I was denied. My PCM told me I might have brain cancer. I was denied an MRI. read more

I too, have not had the greatest experiences. I was in a lot of pain earlier this year and I get that they were only taking pre-op, but my one appointment was pretty good, the people weren't bad, rather nice and believe the manager felt my pain, but there is something that has stuck with me that was odd and just not right and cannot put my finger on it. But it was not a great experience. However, it is strange covid times and would give them another try most definitely, and should call to try and schedule, but prob won't because something is off and that is just my opinion, my feeling. read more

Broke my hand, a non-displaced hairline fracture along the right side. Called insurance, because I was out of network (living out of state at the time and on an HMO) and the only thing they would agree to pay is for an ER or urgent care visit. They would only pay a doctor if I was referred by an ER MD. OK, fine---went over to Sutter Health ER. There were about 6 people waiting; several families with little kids with fever/cold symptoms, another lady with a broken finger, and several grown men with "fever and congestion", which sounds alot like COVID. There were also a couple of elderly obviously severely ill people, one in a wheelchair with oxygen, moaning and wheezing, poor guy, and his caretaker who talked loudly on the cell phone for most of the time they were there. Nobody masking and no social distancing---I masked, just to keep myself safe from all the sick people in ER. Because we were so close together, I overheard intake on several people who had not been vaxxed, and had COVID symptoms, and were just sent to sit next to whatever unlucky soul won the lottery. We all waited for at least an hour before anyone else was seen. Maybe 1-2 patients an hour were taken back. I had been there for almost 5 hours when i finally saw a doc. Had an X-ray which confirmed the fracture, and was given an ace bandage around a pretty rudimentary molded plaster cast that fit along the side of my hand and told to visit an orthopedist, and to keep the cast dry by putting a plastic cast over it when I showered, washed dishes etc. Disgusted, I went home, removed the cast and put on a wrist brace backwards so the brace was along the side where my fracture was. I buddy-taped my little finger to my 4th finger, iced it, took a couple of ibu, and made a followup appointment with a hand specialist who said the brace was "perfect". I wore it until the fracture healed, removing it for water stuff. The ER visit cost $4k, and the MD who read the x-ray, and stopped by while the tech was putting on my "cast" and said, "looks good", charged $2.5k. My insurance paid the $6500 and followup visits--I made sure to have several, to drive home the point of how idiotic it is to require ER visits to pay. No wonder the whole medical system is riddled with fraud. There was one doctor and a couple of technicians and about 5 administrators at their desks behind the window, illustrating to me that they're more interested in collecting money than actually taking care of anyone. I felt bad for the 3 staff who were trying to treat all those people, but at the same time, I am baffled that we've let medical care in this country devolve to this state. Too bad. read more

In particular I would like to recommend Dr. Robert Hence at the 1383 N. McDowell office in Petaluma, CA. Dr Hence is a superb general practitioner. He exhibits a great bedside manner - calming, competent and knowledgable. His diagnoses are always accurate and his referrals to specialists are always spot on to the most capable doctors. My fiance had to come get stitches removed tonight. And with a crazy busy ER, and lots of people in need, his nurse, Anice was absolutely amazing tonight. She has such an amazing personality, and is great with her patients. I havent ever had a nurse as happy and attentive as this women.. seriously this ER is lucky to have her.. thank you anice for taking the time to get to know, and care for each of your patients.. the world needs more people like you! read more

Every time you go their is a problem with the billing. Even when you change the patient number with each payment it gets applied to a previous bill. Takes months to straighten out. Real pain! read more

I just got my first Bone Density Scan at the Sutter Health in Novato. I was amazed at how nice the staff was, calling to pre-register me a few days before, and remind me not to take any Vitamin D, etc before the test. All the people I interacted with were great, including the 2 women at the front desk who welcomed/registered me. Jennifer, the technician that did the scan was friendly, upbeat, and made the experience a positive one. She took me in on time, and the whole process took less than 30 minutes. The test was simple, and not invasive at all. I recommend Sutter Health, and encourage anyone who has been dragging their feet for a bone density test to go to Sutter Health in Novato.
