We found out in emergency he had cancer. He died 6 months later. Since my husband's insurance plan was an HMO we had to have each specialist visit approved by Dr. Sun. He rarely approved and when we went to his office to speak to him when my husband was barely walking he did not come out. He never checked on him during the entire six months. I would not recommend this doctor. He does not care about his patients and due to negligence, my husband had stage 4 cancer and had trouble getting the care he needed because Dr. Sun didn't take the time to be responsible and approve other providers in a timely basis. At that point, I decided to leave, I'm not going to wait close to an hour for a practice that doesn't prioritize patient care or communication. To make matters worse, I am still waiting on my lab results. They confirmed the results were received on the 8th, yet I have not received any follow-up or evaluation. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, and I would recommend considering another provider. Previous Update: I previously left a review for New Wave Physicians Group and, unfortunately, I'm updating it again out of frustration. In my original review, I mentioned that my experiences with Dr. Carder and Dr. Troung were positive, they were both professional, attentive, and helpful during my visits. However, I also noted ongoing issues with the front office staff, and those problems have only gotten worse. It is extremely difficult to reach anyone by phone. Calls often go unanswered, and when someone does pick up, it feels like a rare occurrence. I've had to call repeatedly at different times of the day just to speak with someone, and on multiple occasions I've been placed on hold and then disconnected. More concerning is what happened after my most recent appointment with Dr. Carder. I went in for serious symptoms, had an EKG performed, and completed lab work. I specifically asked how I would receive my results and what the next steps would be regarding treatment or medication. I was told I would receive a phone call, but that never happened. After calling over 50 times, I finally reached someone who informed me that my results had been available for quite some time but had not even been reviewed. I also followed up on a sleep study that was discussed during my visit, only to find out it had not been submitted. The medications I was told would be prescribed were never sent to the pharmacy either. On top of all of this, I still don't have access to the patient portal. Despite multiple attempts to get assistance from the office staff, no one has been able to help me get it set up. These issues have been ongoing and are now affecting my ability to receive timely care. At this point, I feel like I've given this office more than enough chances and will likely be looking for a new provider.

I've been told more than once that i need to see the doctor for a refill, despite having literally just been in his office 30 days ago. We're talking about meds i've been on for 4 years. Birth Control. Blood Pressure. Cholesterol meds. And I very regularly have to fight the incompetent office staff about the fact it's NOT time for another visit yet. They're constantly trying to milk me like a cash cow. Right now i've been off my meds for 2 weeks, diligently trying to reach the Doctor. But no messages ever get to him. I'm told i need to be in office to get a refill on my birth control, i saw him 7 months ago. It's not a controlled substance. I should not need to be seen more than once a year for this. I also had problems with the Nurse practitioner forcibly pulling me OFF my medication without my consent, despite being IN AN ACTUAL APPOINTMENT WITH THE DOCTOR AT THE TIME SHE TRIED TO MAKE THIS CHANGE WITHOUT EITHER OF OUR CONSENT. i feel like my health is being held hostage by someone with a ledger and a red pen in the back office.

I…read morewish I could transport him into a best in class office environment with: 1) Professional and attentive front desk staff - they are waaaaayyyy too casual and can't be bothered. 2) more automated processes - on-line appointment setting, etc. 3) a PORTAL where you can access your test results, send notes to the staff, etc. (they still mail out test results, sometimes...a lot of time you don't hear from them at all) 4) An email box that is monitored -- i have gone weeks/months without them answering the email The front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired. I think they are used to dealing with an older clientele with "old school" processes (phone calls and fax machines) and perhaps Dr. Esantsi is headed to retirement so it's not worth making the effort, but if he intends to work for the next 2-10 years, he really needs to change his staffing and get to a more state of the art office with more on-line capability. I think the reason they never answer the phone is because they are on the phone all day just setting up appointments. That can be done on-line with Calendly. It's frustrating because i really want to keep seeing this doctor but i dread ever having to set up an appointment or go there because their processes are stuck in the 1980s.
