I am not on any controlled substances and have been on the same medication for years. They just needed to "monitor" me $$$. I would suggest going to a psychiatrist office that actually cares about their patients. Also, I'm a State of Texas employee so my insurance is generally accepted at most places.

Even then, I'd have to wait another 20 before the doctor actually showed up. That's ridiculous, and nobody has that kind of time to spare. We all have stuff to do! My last visit, the entire appointment took a little over three hours from the time I got there and signed in until I walked out of the front doors. And this was for a follow up exam and a flu shot, nothing that might actually take a lot of time. And they don't care! I peeked out of my exam room to ask how much longer it would be, and Dr. Manning was just writing away on whatever, told me "I'll be with you shortly, " and that was it. No apology for having to wait 90 minutes to be seen. If I were really late to an appointment, I wouldn't have an appointment, but doctors apparently get to do what they want. Needless to say, I found another doctor. I don't have 2-3 hours to spare every time I need to visit my doctor. I've been to emergency rooms that got me in and out in three hours, and an urgent care emergency room that had me out in an hour! Not a good reflection on a doctor's office. They need to strive to do better.

When it was my turn to talk, the secretary informed me that Gupta has decided to go on vacation, disregarding her duty to her patients. I asked if there had been a mistake in my scheduling. I suggest going elsewhere because it's not worth it, no matter how good the doctor is, because you won't be able to make an appointment to follow up. This must be illegal in some way to go to an assessment visit but never be able to follow up because the staff don't even respond to you. Although I am a patient of Dr. Knafo, I've only spoken to her 3 of the minimum 9 times I had appointments. The other visits I was seen by two other female doctors. Now this isn't a big issue if you are going for smaller concerns like check ups and well woman exams but I had a continuous stomach issue that the lack of consistency in visits very negatively effected. I ran the same tests multiple times and explained the same symptoms/reactions to the doctors each visit and we ran in circles. I understand this is a family practice and not a specialist, but at some point it's up to the doctors to admit they don't know and refer me to someone else. It took a year of this before I broke down crying and begged for them to refer me. I would like to commend Dr. Knafo on what she is TRYING to do. When I did get to meet with her she was very caring and serious about my mental health. ( I have anxiety and depression ) Although, I believe this effected her judgement a little too much, I often felt like she wouldn't take my other physical health concerns seriously until I started taking medication as she strongly urged for me to start taking lexipro whenever I saw her. I've been doing well with my mental health, and would often express to her the reason behind my being so wound up and on the verge of tears in her office is because I was a 19 year old college student battling a mystery issue and running the same tests every visit. Making appointments is easy, everything else over the phone is hit or miss depending on if they feel like taking your call at that time.

She did her testing in her home on University ave. She recommended a counselor, who also works in her home and has done a great job with my child.

Bait and switch. I…read moremade an appointment with Dr. Cadenhead because she seemed to have extensive experience in treating children with ADHD. When I called to make the appointment I even spoke with her to determine that she took my insurance (stated she did) and how a prescription could be written for my child (she cannot write prescriptions, but assured me she could recommend the prescription to my pediatrician to write). I made the appointment and spent hours filling out the required paperwork and making copies of other paperwork. After about a 6 week wait, I arrived at the appointment to discover that my child had an appointment with a Licensed Master Social Worker INTERN (so she wasn't actually licensed yet and had very little experience at all). She stated all future appointments would be with her, and she doesn't take my insurance (though she stated they could for that day even though Dr. Cadenhead was out of town). Also, she'd have to talk to Dr. Cadenhead about referring us to a psychiatrist to get prescriptions written. Totally unprofessional and unethical, and complete waste of time.
