Many things to buy crafts, jewelry, pots & pans, cheese cutting boards, baskets, paintings and more. There is a kid's inflatable area and petting zoo. Sooo much happening at this festival close to home with that fall vibe, was a perfect activity for me. It is always held the last Saturday and Sunday of September. I got to go back this year after a longgg time and was kind of surprised in how it turned more into a food festival, there was literally a whole strip just dedicated to food vendors. There was such a wide variety of foods from all sorts of different authentic cuisines to snacks and homemade treats for on the go! We ended up getting a frozen pink lemonade, elotes and the impossible gyoza. One of the stalls did sell fresh apple cider donuts and I would definitely recommend getting them if you go! Overall such a good time and experience with your friends and family! You can easily spend a couple hours here and they have a mini pumpkin patch, face painting, live music you name it! It's only one weekend though so be sure you're free!

FIRST ANNUAL DULUTH ARTS FESTIVAL!…read more This past weekend, I attended the Inaugural debut of the Duluth Arts Festival featuring live music performances, and art vendors. The artists displayed a variety of art forms such as photography, painting, glass, jewelry, leather goods and others. It was a very small turn out of vendors which surprised me because I am just accustomed to the massive throng of vendors that are all over the place during the Duluth Fall Festival. The greatest aspect of the festivals is that they are held on the beautiful Town Center lawn. It is the primary gathering place for community events and the perfect setting thanks to his expansive space and beautifully landscaped areas. I was simply looking forward to relaxing in my favorite chair, enjoying a cool breeze and listening to some great music. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE GOOD: The venue and weather was perfect on this day The professional guitarist was great. They had a GREAT play area for kids. They had great picnic tables with umbrellas placed right near the stage for diners. It was really a nice touch. LET'S TALK ABOUT WHAT NEEDS WORK: I would love to see a larger variety of vendors because we tend to travel to fairs and festivals quite often and are growing tired of seeing the same vendors over and over again. I love creativity and I just know that there are artists out there who work with different and unusual materials. This problem will probably resolve itself over time as more vendors sign up for the event. The first musical act happened to be students and not professionals. At an Inaugural event, you really need to put your best foot forward and make a great first impression. If the students cannot perform at a professional level, they simply should not be featured. For us, the first act sets the tone because if the music is bad, we can't stay. There were only three food trucks, hotdogs, burgers and quesadillas. They simply needed more variety and healthier options. Although they considered their bean and cheese quesadilla the healthier alternative, I did not. They needed at least one food venue with a lighter menu but, this was not a major issue for us because we tend to pack our own food. Hopefully, they will tweak things and next year's festival will be bigger and better. ***This is a two-day weekend festival. ***Feel free to bring your favorite chairs and snacks. ***Arrive early for great parking and choice seats. Normally, you have the entire lawn available but this time much of the available space was taken over by the large kid's area and the food trucks.

What could be better after a hike on beautiful Yonah Mountain than a visit to nearby Yonah Mountain…read moreVineyards? A lot of things as it turned out. Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

"Wine enters through the mouth, Love, the eyes…read more I raise the glass to my mouth, I look at you, I sigh." William Butler Yeats With the beautiful backdrop of the rolling hills of North Georgia, Yonah Mountains Vineyards delivers real wine and real romance. Whether it's for an afternoon date, or a full out wedding among the rows of vines, it's hard not to feel love in the air. Great outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered, place you right above the beautiful vineyard and allow you to take it all in. Yonah Mountains Vineyards separates itself from the others by providing familiar wines such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay etc as opposed to the traditional Muscadine wines of the south. The wine itself is decent, but definitely not near the quality of the west coast wines, but all were enjoyable. I particularly liked their Genesis 12, a red wine blend, and their Viognier, an impressive white. Wine flights are around $60 with a choice between white, red, or mixed. Bottles run around $40-100. A little pricey for the product, but then again, it's the whole experience that you are buying, and it's money well spent. Yonah Mountain Vineyards strikes the perfect balance between classy and casual. You'll be just as comfortable in jeans as in a tux or a horrid bridesmaid dress. Cheers!

Most decent food items (bratwurst, Italian sausage, bacon jam footlong, fried Oreos, etc.) are mostly unavailable or no longer offered. On a typical game, most stands will be closed with that insipid "Gone Fishin' " sign out front. They only sell basic, rotgut, boring food most games. Cheap quality hot dogs that taste like Bar-S, frozen burger patties, etc. are what you will find. "Boneless" Chicken wings (actually nuggets) had okay sauce but were like the frozen ones from the store. Stick to chips, peanuts, Cracker Jack, King of Pops (rare), Dippin' Dots, and anything else that can't be cooked. The good news is there are a ton of restaurants nearby. Even the Costco food court is not too far away. Grab a $1.50 high quality, all beef dog and soda before the game. Eat before you go and maybe grab a snack at the park.
