The inn had a menu of assorted food and drinks to choose from, and the order process was seamless. You order these items on their website and it is delivered to you. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. We had the ability to log into our Netflix account on the tv. I also liked the burning stove in the room. Everything was perfect. All the rooms are either upstairs or downstairs a steep flight of stairs but we had no worries as our suitcases were carried to our rooms. We were up at Bolton Valley for a wedding and after checking out Sunday morning we were starrrving. We happened upon a charming 3 story period building with white porches and hanging plants, it was almost disgustingly adorable. But it had a sign outside saying they were serving breakfast. Sold. We went in and the inn is furnished with an array of antiquities and period furnishings but not to the point it feels stuffy or overdone. More cozy. We got the last table in the tiny dining room and the woman running the breakfast invited us to help ourselves to the table in the next room, full of fruit, pastries, granola, tea and coffee. The instant gratification of this set up could not have made me happier, except that then as we waited and munched on granola and fruit and tea, the service was so attentive and warm, it would almost be off putting if it hadn't been so genuine. Anyway we both ordered from a long list of hot breakfast items. Eggs benedict and a mushroom cheddar omelet. This is clearly a place to sit and savor the morning and the fact that our breakfast took longer than it might at some of our boston haunts actually added to my overall enjoyment of the meal. I was so unhurried and unfettered by time. When our breakfast came we sank our teeth into some seriously delicious food. My mushroom omelet was maybe the best I've ever had... I don't know how they did it but the mushrooms were SO flavorful. And the eggs benny by my boyfriend's account were "top notch." As a side we each got a potato patty which was essentially a latke and SO delicious. Perfect for soaking up extra hollandaise. And seriously, the service was exceptional. Attentive, but not overly so, and I think the thing I liked most was the family feel that the staff created. It felt like we'd been invited over to breakfast. I don't know why or when we will be in Waterbury VT again, but I think I would make a point to go here just to go to the Old Stagecoach Inn again. And not just for breakfast next time because if this breakfast made my day the way it did, I can only imagine if I stayed here how happy I would be!

Greg showed us around the property, the lobby shop, brought us to our room and explained all the unique and exciting details of the house and property. We woke up each morning to a beautifully prepared breakfast. Since our trip was so last minute, we didn't have much of a plan. Greg was kind enough to sit down with us and help us map out our entire journey. He even helped us map an alternate route home that was more scenic. We didn't get to everything on the list, but everything he mentioned was perfect. You can tell he has a genuine love and passion for what he does. His advice and planning alone made the experience excellent. I can go on and on about the perfect stay we had. You can tell Greg and Willie are very passionate about what they do. I made it a priority to spend some time in those chairs at some point every day and am missing it already!

Andrea, the proprietor, keeps the carriage house and the grounds to the property very tastefully appointed. While the carriage house is located right in the heart of this small, college-friendly city, Howard St. is a very quiet residental venue and is situated in a very nice part of town. The location was actually very convenient. Just about a mile from the heart of the little bustling down-town area, the mile long walk each waty was a great way to get exercise and to experience the sights on foot. The carriage/guest house itself is very clean, neat, orderly and comfortably decorated. To our delight, we even found fresh milk and OJ in the mini-fridge, which was very thoughtful. A cupboard also offers complimentary fresh cereals, teas, hot chocolate and coffee for use by any guest. There were PLENTY of freshly laundered linens available, also. The ONLY amenity which could use a little upgrading (but its not a big deal) is the television (old tube style) and the VCR would be better replaced by a modern DVD player. (VHS- what's that?) Free Wi-Fi is supplied by the proprietor, which is a very convenient amenity by today's standards. We will definitely be back for a second visit!

The upstairs studio, where we stayed, can accomodate up to four people (2 on bed, one on additional bed, and one on the couch). It is definitely a good share, or for a couple away from home. *Btw, beware of the toilet bowl... it did clog up.

Pretty much everything you want and need is here in a beautiful area of Vermont in the mountains not to far from the capital of Vermont (Montpellier) or Vermont's biggest city (Burlington) only a 45 minute drive thru the mountains. Great place to stay while in Vermont specially if you are coming here during the winter months for skiing. Big kitchen is also here but for use for private party's and weddings witch they also do a lot here. Rooms have mini fridge with silver wear and plates also a sink and some have a couch and table and a balcony with a view of the center garden area. It can get noisy if you choose the rooms closer to the entrance,early in the morning you can hear dump trucks and construction people, if you have money to spend stay in the other side with plenty of rooms up stairs and even your own private kitchen witch is mainly rented out to big family's or party's. This place looks small from the outside but when you walk in you will be amazed,the no ac in the rooms did not bother me much because they do have portable heaters/fans that can cool Off your room or warm it up so I still give this business five + stars. My girlfriend and I arrived at about 7pm at night and were greeted at the front door by Rick, one of the owners. He assisted us in carrying our bags to our room and then gave us a nice tour of the place. This house was HUGEEEEE and has something to do for every person in the family. Rick first took us to their indoor swimming pool/hot tub. The pool and hot tub had covers on it to avoid the temperature of the water from dropping too far and from also getting too dirty. There was also a treadmill in there which we could use if we wanted. He then took us up their beautiful staircase to their movie theater. The theater was very nice and personal and he had a good selection of movies to choose from. They also had their own popcorn machine and candy to munch on while enjoying a movie. Then he showed us their dining hall where we were to have breakfast every morning and asked us what time we were planning on having breakfast. Then he wished us a good night and let us on our merry way. We went back to the room to wash up and get ourselves situated and my girlfriend could not stop talking about how nice our room was. We stayed in the Red Maple Suite and my gosh the room was amazing. We had a queen size bed, our own TV, our own bathroom, sink, mini fridge, microwave, balcony, table, couch, coffee pot and iron. That is one of the GREAT THINGS about the Maple House INN. Each room has its own bathroom with shower or tub along with a good sized bed and mini fridge/small kitchen. Each room also has its own personal temperature control. We were able to control the temperature of our room without affecting any of the other rooms. They even had HEATED FLOORS!!! The mini fridge had some small waters in it which we found to be very thoughtful and considerate of them to put them there for their guests. When we woke up the next morning, we went down to the dining hall and met with Rick and Lynn. They asked us what we wanted for breakfast, and us not being very picky eaters, told them to surprise us. Rick made some delicious french toast, served with orange juice, tea, a bowl of fruit, and of course, maple syrup. That was by far some of the best french toast I have ever had. Their two pets, Charlie (dog) and Opie (cat), were there also to greet us. They were some of the cutest and most behaved pets I had ever seen. Over the course of our 3 day stay, we were served eggs benedict (which was damn good), french toast, and a cream cheese filled french toast for breakfast. All came with a bowl of different fruit and choice of drink (juice, water, tea, coffee). We also watched a movie in the movie theater and Rick was kind enough to pop up some fresh popcorn. Rick told us that if we wanted to watch another movie at another time, then to just let him know and he would play it for us. We also used the hot tub and swimming pool every day. The cover was not much work to take off, simply crank and roll the pool cover off. The hot tub cover was easy to take off and replace. Rick and Lynn were some of the nicest people we had ever met and really felt welcome staying at their place. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time and are looking forward to coming back and staying at their place again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!
