What a great buying experience. It is rare these days (post pandemic) to have a dealership that treats you with respect. I called the dealership to inquire about a new 2023 GSX-R 1000. Mark answered all my questions and even gave me an OTD price. I couldn't find anyone to beat that price anywhere else in Southern California (not even close). Mark didn't give me "high pressure" sales tactic, he just said what the best he can do and saved my quote so if I wanted to come in, the price was said in stone. Super professional. I went to the dealership 2 days later but Mark wasn't there. I was soon approached by Nawaz (originally owner since the 80's) and just chatted with me for a while (funny and just a great guy). I then told him about what Mark quoted me and pulled it up on the computer. At this point I decided to go with it and what the price Mark quoted me was what I paid. No BS kinda place. On top of that, Brian (super experience in all motorcycle things) was super helpful doing all the paperwork and also was training the new finance person that was super nice and helpful as well. I am conflicted. I think a 3-star review should be for a standard job well-done. Not bad, not excellent. This was my first time with Suzuki Van Nuys, and while the service staff was nice, there were important errors during a routine service that bump it down to a 2-star. 1. Pricing: I explained my issues to Mark and told him which parts of the standard service to avoid (I can do them myself) and a v-belt I brought in my own part for installation that is in the service manual for installation on its own. I asked Mark and the other service person if the final quote included labor and was told yes. Unfortunately, labor added almost 50% to original quote. I was charged extra for the v-belt installation even though it's part of the regular service interval I took it in for. I was also not told about the extra charge paying by credit card, so that added over $60 to the job. 2. Additional Mischarge: I was charged for a part and paid the invoice, but the service guy saw that the part was never used and gave me a refund. I'm relieved he resolved it quickly, but it should have been noticed while we went through the entire invoice the first time. 3. Service Mistake/Inoperable: After I paid, I took my vehicle out on the road, but it quickly died at an intersection 100 feet away and would not turn on. I had to push it back to the shop. The service manager quickly took it back to a mechanic and discovered that the issue was a spark plug that hadn't been tightened to spec. Again, I'm thankful for the service manager's quick action, but this should have been discovered in the post-service ride before the vehicle is returned to the customer. Nice folks. Unfortunately, the service errors and the pricing will make me look elsewhere. read more

I was searching for this bike in the Bay Area where I live. It was going for $11,800 out the door. I continued my search and found it at Suzuki Van Nuys for $10,200 out the door. Brian spoke with me for about 2 weeks and I explained to him that I didn't want the sale floor bike and was really interested in a brand new unboxed bike. Brian listened and assured me that he could make that happen. Brian offered to let me pick between 2 bikes unboxed. He told me he would have the bike built the night before I came to pick it up. Brian took a deposit over the phone and I drove a total of 12 hours roundtrip for this bike. A closer dealership near the Sacramento area offered to give me the same price at $10,200 but I wasn't impressed by their customer service. When I arrived to Suzuki of Van Nuys I was there for about 2 hours. I talked to Mark the GM and Dunai in finance. Both were so kind and weren't trying to hassle me for any additional services. Mark took the time to tell me about the company and you can tell he really values each customer. I was nearly falling asleep and still had about a 6 hour drive home. Dunai offered to make me coffee. This was such a genuine offer and really helped me wake up. While waiting for my brand new bike to get detailed, Brian took the time to go over important features of the bike with me. I was really impressed by his knowledge and amazing customer service. When my bike was ready to go Mark and a few other guys congratulated me on my purchase and helped load my bike up into the trailer. Because of Brian, Mark and Dunai's hospitality, the 12 hour drive roundtrip was worth it. People will always remember how you made them feel. Thank you Mark for your companies service. I bring my Suzuki SV1000s to get the valve adjustment and install new springs on my front forks, after a few days the motorcycle idle was going high and low non stop. So I bring my bike back and they fix it and Andy told me it was host that they didn't connect properly. I said ok no problem. Now few months later the problem comes back now worst than ever. I call Andy and basically told me I'm run out of luck cause they only offers 30 day warranty of any labor they do when the problem of my motorcycle started after they do the valve adjustment, I didn't have this issue before. And now I'm not going to pay to getting fix for something that they did it when they did the valve adjustment. Stay Away from this place and take your motorcycle to another place. read more

I purchased an SV650 ABS from these guys. My first interaction when we went in was with Guss. A very personable individual didn't try to talk us into buying anything and he also had recommendations for us that made sense. We didn't purchase the bike at the time since I didn't have the license yet and when I did pass my riding exam, I called them and I was told that they didn't have any in stock but they have allocations for a couple of SV650s. Mark gave me a quote that was lower than all other dealers and even though he didn't give me a written quote, he told me his word is his promise and if I'm good with the quote, I can go in and put a deposit down. And that's what we did. A few weeks later, the bike was there, we went in, paid for the bike (same price as Mark had promised), walked us through the features of the bike, and flew through the paperwork (didn't try to upsell us anything!) When arriving they charged $300 "inspection" fee with out any communication or call to us that this was being done !!! I have the receipt and everything. This is just bad business and communication. TERRIBLE service department! My husband crashed his bike. Our insurance recommend this service department. Mark picked up our bike and even said when he picked up that it would likely be totaled and that if we "bought" the salvage title then he could still do the repairs that we wanted to get it back on the road. We end up totaling it out and buying the salvage title back from the insurance and we call the shop to get the repairs started and we are told by Sean that he doesn't even know what needs to be done and that he has to call someone in JAPAN to find out what needs to be done. He calls me back to tell me apparently their shop doesn't work on salvage title even thought the supposed OWNER said they did. We had to find another shop that had time to work on it and schedule a tow. We finally get the bike back to our house only to find out they took it apart to do the evaluation on it and never PUT IT BACK TOGETHER! The seat wasn't even crewed on. Sean was the only nice part about the whole experience. Never go here for insurance evaluation! Also if you are looking for "motorcycle connections" it's like they literally don't exist. Ah where do I begin??? This whole damn crew is killer. Andy, Mark, everyone. So, get ready for a mf story. We own a 2020 Suzuki DRZ400SM. In October 2020, during a back roads ride in San Luis Obispo County our bike with street specs was laid down. Sharp turn on a paved road was covered in teeny bits of gravel and the bike slid, an over correction happened, went for a flip or two, and hearts broke. Everyone involved lived to endure the following horrors. We took the bike to a certified Suzuki's dealer and service center in Santa Maria. We were told the bike was more than fixable, 1 month tops with COVID shipping delays. Well, that was false. After almost 3 months in the shop, we picked up our bike from the shop that shall not be named and it literally wasn't touched, not even dusted off. We took it back to our home in LA just at a loss for what to do. My boyfriend was throwing the hissy fit of a life time and is incapable of thinking clearly during such primitive states so naturally, in comes the rational girlfriend. After calling insurance and getting the go ahead on moving forward with a supplemental claim, I contacted Suzuki of Van Nuys right away because they are the closest Suzuki location to us and aren't reeking of bad reviews and corruption, unlike the other shop (should have known from their Better Business Bureau grade and Yelp reviews. They can rot in the depths of motorcycle hell where they belong). Anyway, I was connected with Andy right away and gave him the "Ok so here's the deal..." spiel. He immediately was so reassuring like "Ok...just get me a, b, and c and let's get started." Cool, it was game time. Within a week the bike was taken to the shop. We pulled up and Mark came out and immediately was like "WTF." He went over our previous estimate, looked over those "REPAIRS" and took in depth pictures. I'm talking IN. DEPTH. We were there talking to this man and his team for an hour. At minimum. Through explanations, recording damage, Mark and his team pointing things we didn't see out to us or validating what I thought was my boyfriend being dramatic but he in fact was right (don't tell him I said that). We even handed over the crew a luggage rack and new license plate holder/ tail light frame we bought to put on for us after repairs. This shop advocated hardcore for us to our insurance with the updated estimate for the supplemental coverage. It was SO THOROUGH. As soon as I saw the new estimate and showed my heartbroken boo I swear he gained like 20 more years on his lifespan (fingers crossed). After receiving the check from insurance, the bike was completed with over $3k in supplemental repairs. Yes I said that, one week. Not 3 months. We picked up the bike and good lord, she's a beaut. The performance exhaust they installed is even more beautiful than the market exhaust. It's all just perfect. So so perfect. Everything was repaired and installed to perfection. Andy talked us through the repairs, discussed the new exhaust, told us how to care for it. Then Mark came out asking how everything is before we left and we just talked about how stoked we were. We will be back for the jet on the new exhaust, all services, definitely be back to buy another bike in the next couple of months (I need my own). Just so happy with these folks and this shop. I ordered a 2023 Hayabusa early / mid summer . Bryan in sales told me they would be the first dealer in nation taking delivery of the 2023s in early September. Specifically 2nd week of September . And things being how they are these days with production and inventory, I wasn't holding my breath .. I was very surprised and excited when they called me september 8th saying my Hayabusa was in and ready for pick up !! I drove down from nor cal to pick the busa up .
