good place (kinda) for oil change? chain cleaning? no master mechanic currently ? I had an issue with basic service. so my confidence here is shot. still will use them for basic (?) service in a pinch. maybe not... it's hard - came here for a decade so I have seen the changes and ownership changes. this type is a passion business that requires the owner to be the operator. here the owner is not a front line guy. a motorcycle is just challenging because every-time you get on it- Even the smallest issue can cause you your life. I found this place by accident, stop by this "bike shop" in Eagle Rock to ask IF they can do something or at least have some advise/suggestions for the wheel on my Chinese electric bike... holy cow... what a stock-up, "...I don't work on electric bikes..." in my opinion this place is vegetarian hipster acting like some-kind-of a rough and tough 1%er from TV show. I had an emergency when I was selling my dirt bike. I warmed the bike up in the AM before the buyer arrived to look at it. I made an attempt to adjust the idle screw mixture & ended up flooding the carb. The buyer came over & asked to see the bike running & I couldn't get it restarted..! Dammit..! The have the proper tire mounting machine to not damage / scratch soft alloy rims and balance your tires at the same time for no extra co$t . They have a small office/salesroom where they stock bulbs, oil, gloves, helmets and other bits and bobs the rider needs, they also have the HUGE catalogs you can peruse to find parts or farkles and order them in ~ I do this on a regular basis as I' always adding a safety item or wanting new carby jets, etc., etc. . Here's a shop you can trust to do good work. Genius mechanic. And he works on electric bikes. Brought in my District and he noticed my rear tire wasn't seated well so he fixed that, then mounted/balanced the new front tire. I was on the road in an hour with a safe ride. It's obvious they know their stuff just with a tire change. And they're flexible with scheduling and will try to fit you in asap. I'll be coming here for all my service. read more

I wouldn't say I'm a frequent visitor to Cycle Depot in Eagle Rock. The last time I visit CD was when I still had my Kawi ZX-10r a few years ago. This time around, Ervin the service personnel punched my home number in and I was still in their system! Score! I needed to have a new rear Dunlop Q3 installed on my Ducati Streetfighter and I called Mr. Tommy (one of the co-owners) and asked if they were able to work on DUCs and if they had availability first thing this morning (Tuesday). I rode my bike in first thing this morning as they opened and the guys at CD were all helpful and had smiles on their faces as they actually wanted to be at work and work on bikes. My tire installation and balance took about 45 mins. They charged an hour of worth of labor (since I had the new Dunlop Q3 rear with me). The service guys even changed a left turn signal for me free of charge! All in all a very good experience. CD has a full garage and pretty much can work on any bike (I'd call them up first if you have doubts), they have a nice little parts department where the young gal (I think her name was Jill) will help you look for tires, helmets, clothing/gear and aftermarket parts. Mr. Tommy even came in and greeted me and said hello and all. What a nice group of guys and gal at Cycle Depot. I was able to sit and watch them install my rear tire with ease. I'm headed back to CD next week to get some new CRG levers. Trust Tommy, Ervin, Jill and the fellows at CD, they know how to run a shop. I trusted them with my Ducati, why wouldn't you? I'll definitely be back be a frequent customer of CD after today's visit! read more

Called Cycle Depot to see if I can bring in my bike for a service, was speaking with the service advisor, who then told me that the service manager was gone for the day. He looked up my information and found me as a previous customer, he said, no problem - "I will have my service manager call you tomorrow." The next day, I never did get a call. I guess there was a missed translation there. I decided to give them a call back before the end of the day, so I can see what my options are regarding my bike repair. The service manager picked up and said, "Oh yea, I was going to call." Followed up by saying that they are very busy, and that they are having issues with getting parts for the bike that is currently in the shop. He proceeds to tell me to call back, next month... OK, so if you were just going to tell me a bad news, why do you have to wait? If you (as a business) cannot take new repair job, why can't you just be honest? The least you can do is give me courtesy so I can find another business. Established business should call when they don't have the capacity to service, instead of just leaving it hanging. I am not married to Cycle Depot, but at least let me know if you cannot take me in, you don't even know what my bike problems are! You didn't even ask! Sad to say, Cycle Depot reputation is not as good as they used to. read more

I really didn't wanna leave a bad review because these guys are so nice, but they left me no choice... went in for a tire swap and have my triple tree bolts torqued to spec... after they looked at my triple tree they said they only charged for a visual inspection so they had to charge more... so I paid extra to have my head steering bolt torqued to spec along with my triple tree bolts... first of all, the guy never pulled out a torque wrench, second my forks were not level and he didn't level them which would have takes 2 seconds... third, he only tightened the top bolt of the triple tree which does nothing for the bearing inside (he should have also tightened the spanner bolt underneath)... all of that really pissed me of but Everyone was really friendly, so I dealt with it and rode home... fast forward a few days- I'm riding home and my front end feels really loose so I check my triple tree bolts with my fingers and to my absolute horror my main big ass 36mm triple tree bolt was hand tight!... let me repeat that, the main bolt that these guys supposedly torqued to spec WAS HAND TIGHT!!!!!!! If you wanna buy parts or gear go right ahead... but for god sakes, DO NOT LET THESE GUYS TOUCH YOUR BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I love this place! I've been riding since 1969. I started riding on the street (legally) in 1978. I used to do most of my own work back when my bikes were usually one or two cylinder bikes but now I'm old and tired so I tend to let other people work on my multi cylinder bikes. I bought a wrecked bike and had them evaluate it for me. Once we decided it was definitely worth fixing, they did EXACTLY what we discussed. Every time I gave them a list of things to do, they did it perfectly. I have also taken one of my friend's Harleys there as well. Same outcome. Perfect. I love walking in there an feeling like a neighbor. Everyone is super friendly, they seem to remember my name (that's a big deal in LA lol ) and the bike is doing really well. The prices are very reasonable. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend anyone as much as them. I live about ten miles or so from them and it's absolutely worth the distance. Lot's of great advice, wonderful service, reasonable time frames and costs. This is my number 1, go to place for all my bikes now. You can trust these guys with your baby. They won't let you down. read more

I have brought our Honda dirt bikes here exclusively. Most recently I had a whole heap of deferred maintenance done on my 2000 XR400R. Valve adj, oil and filter, brake fluid, new chain, new clutch cable, suspension adj, and more I cannot recall. They diagnosed it as low compression (30%) and yet it still pulls out front of my son's 2009 CRF250X. Mechanic Cody takes pride in his work, is very knowledgeable, and cares for your bike like it's his own. I like that. Frankie is helpful and willing to work a deal to please a customer (that needs a dozen items worked on). Going back for that top end rebuild next week. I've been going here for years. From random tire installs to getting my bikes serviced. I've had my wide range of bikes brought here from my 70's CB 450, 2015 CBR500RR, to my recent Triumph. Most recently I picked up a 2012 Triumph Bonneville for which I called them on a Friday morning, to get service done for a Saturday ride with friends. They took it in, serviced the oil, chain, pads, and then had a set of fresh tires to put on since the front tire was super sketch. They had time to put those on to ease my mind for the Saturday ride. The end result the bike felt great and I had an all day enjoying ride with all the friends on Saturday morning. There are two local shops in the area, (I won't name the other) but in my opinion Cycle Depot just as good if not better in many ways.
