I've been seeing "Golf for Fitness and Recreation" for the longest time, and a few months ago, I enrolled for the Spring session. For $86.00, you get a 6-week, 2-hour golf class either on Saturdays or Sundays. Compared to private instruction (which can run $80+/hour) or even group classes at other places (which are over $100, and you only get a one hour class compared to Pierce's two hours), this is definitely a deal! Pete was our instructor, and he has been teaching the golf class for over 20 years. I started out knowing nothing about golf, and ended knowing how to chip, pitch, a 3/4 swing, a full swing, and putting. We also learned about the different clubs and golf etiquette when playing. Pete was very kind and patient with each student, and he will explain to you what you are doing wrong and will help you correct it. I've played sports my entire life, and I have had instruction from coaches and instructors, so I know the difference between good instruction and bad instruction. PETE IS A GREAT INSTRUCTOR! We started with a class of about 9 people, and by the third week, 2 people (who I think were struggling) had dropped...I guess golf wasn't for them! The other 7 who stayed the entire 6 weeks did well and we all learned a lot. We even exchanged contact information so that we could get a little beginners golf group going! When we arrived for our final food tasting, we learned she was out on leave and that Rabya and Angie would be taking over. This transition was never communicated to us. Both were consistently difficult to reach; emails and calls went unanswered for days at a time- and every request, no matter how minor, was met with a flat refusal and no alternative offered. Rabya and Angie made what should have been an exciting time genuinely stressful, and no bride or couple should have to navigate that in the final stretch of wedding planning. On the day itself, the bar was not set up on time, leaving guests standing in line for over 20 minutes. We paid for the platinum package and expected adequate staffing; instead, guests had to seek out servers themselves to get appetizers at their tables. It was understaffed and disorganized in ways that were noticeable and embarrassing. The aftermath was worse. We returned the next day to retrieve our items (wedding gifts, a wedding dress stored in a locker, and our wedding cake) and found no one available to assist. We called Rabya and Angie: no answer. We came back Monday: still no help from either of them. When we finally reached someone by email, we were told our entire wedding cake had been thrown away. Our wedding dress was being held, we were informed, only "as a courtesy" as though we should be grateful they hadn't discarded that too. Cheryl set a standard that Rabya and Angie were unable to meet on any level. The venue itself is beautiful, and that makes this review all the more disappointing to write. But I would strongly warn any couple against working with Rabya and Angie. The gap between what was promised and what was delivered on one of the most important days of our lives was significant.

In just four lessons with Carlos I've already seen a significant improvement in my game (with plenty still to work on).
