Our party ended up being 20 of us and we were able to share a unique link for purchasing tickets so our party was all linked together as one party. When we first boarded, there really wasn't any direction as to what to do or what we could do so we just sat down at our table and waited for someone. We weren't sure if we could or should go to the bar to order drinks or if we could walk around before dinner. It took a while (10+ minutes) for anyone to approach our table.) Once someone approached our table we ordered drinks and then walked around the boat. We went to the top deck to take some photos and watch the sunset before dinner started. Once dinner started we were able to go the buffet as munch as we wished. Since it was Italian night they had all Italian dishes, none of the dishes really stood out but nothing was bad. It was good, but not like wow! While eating they started pouring our wine samples. We got two red and two white samples and a sommelier talked us through each sample. After the first two samples they gave us a break to walk around, go to the bathroom, etc. I would have preferred a shorter break in the middle of dinner and more time in the beginning so that we could spend more time on the deck while the sun set. Tickets for this event were $65 and in my opinion it was worth it. We had a great time and it was something I could check of my bucket list!

My newly created memory is so dear to me now. Just starting from the entry of the shop to pick up tickets. The staff was so bubbly with smiles and welcoming energy to assist you once you came in. Then after receiving our tickets we got to walk around a bit to enjoy the breeze. Now 15 minutes before our sail time they started guiding everyone to their designated tables. Once we were seated we were informed of all our important safety information while aboard and locations of the restrooms. Then our server came over to take our drinks. Our table was filled with charcuterie boards with fruit and cheese with sweet tea, watermelon tea, and water available within arms reach. We had a live performance throughout the interior time. They even sung requested songs. I enjoyed watching all of the other married couples get up and dance. My husband even got me to get a dance floor for one of the songs. Lol I was so nervous but I really enjoyed it. Once the food started rolling in we started with a house salad and bread. Then we got up and walked around the ship. We took photos and watched the sunset. It was so peaceful with amazing songs playing softly in the background. Once they announced dinner was being served we headed down to our table. Now about my Savory Herb Roasted Half Chicken with a White Wine Supreme Chicken Sauce.I chef's kiss for sure. I picked mashed potatoes and corn for my sides. Anyone who knows me know I love me some corn. Lol the chicken was so juicy all the way through. Flavor was perfect from the white meat to the dark meat parts. I was so stuffed you could probably roll me off the ship afterwards. Lol I enjoyed being able to try two virgin mocktails with a carrot cake that surprised me. The dessert was so tasty and fluffy. We understand that Boat Tree is the new owner, re-energizing the place; and, providing more services, including free wi-fi on our boat! Access is easy off of I-4 via SR 46; and, parking is plentiful. The facilities are clean and up-to-date; and, maintenance staff are working 7 days a week. We enjoyed our mini-vacation very much; and, I hope to return with my wife for a romantic weekend aboard another houseboat!

This outfit, specifically Shawn, has the competition beat, hands down. Some tour operators distinguish themselves by being entertainers and showmen. Shawn is a good natured and knowledgeable guide that doesn't try to make himself the star of the show. He's a highly experienced boatman, knowledgeable about the local lore, the weather, the plants and wildlife, the techniques and habits of the sportsmen, and all the spots that various animal species like to hang out under different light and weather conditions. His familiarity with the unique coves and crannies of the ever changing wetland terrain is astonishing. He clearly takes it as a point of pride that he can remember and track down the animals you want to lay eyes on. He also makes the ride itself interesting and enjoyable because of his piloting skill. His lifelong love of navigating the wetlands is positively infectious. Rather than having the feeling that I've already been there and done that, I could look forward to riding with Shawn again and again.

However, it's only $10 now that I have my own life jacket (saving me additional cost of $5 to use one of theirs, as required). Well worth the low cost for some soul-enriching, communing with nature. I have never made a reservation. I normally arrive around 10:30, most recently on a Friday. Parked for free on Baptist Camp Rd. Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. A reservation will guarantee your entrance, however, and possibly aide quicker personal info collection. I always plan to do the Emerald Cut in roughly 3 hours round-trip, allowing myself several stops to enjoy the surroundings. You do run into (quite literally at times) novice paddlers along the way, which can be a bit tricky, yet not a real nuisance for me. In general, there's friendliness along the waterway. Slighty rowdy, party vibes in some spots, but also opportunities for solace and zen in various nooks. Encountering wildlife, fragrant elderberry, and other captivating flora along this stretch is always gratifying. It's a popular recreation destination for good reason.

A friend of mine who is new to the RV community contacted me wanting to book a few sites for their…read moreinaugural camping trip, after inviting us to join their first adventure I decided to do a drive through to ensure it was a good place to test out his skills and help him get oriented with their new motorhome before booking sites being it is relatively close to our homes. This is a great location on the river but I felt it would be a little challenging for their first outing and honestly I had no intention of putting my 40' motorhome in this situation with its shallow and tightly spaced sites. The park is filled with lots of permanent residents and long stay RVer's if someone is interested in long term camping it may be okay but since we were only looking for a few days I don't feel this would be the best experience and with his inexperience it could be a little risky with all the trees with long hanging branches, tight turns and narrow sites especially since there weren't any sites close enough together for our two rigs. Unfortunately this didn't work out for us but I do see how many would enjoy this RV / Marina community nestled along the river, it's probably a great place for a tag along to park long term for weekend camping but I'd be hesitant to bring in a big rig...
