I was on time for an appointment with Tina, the owner of the salon. I never met her and didn't know who she was. I waited about 15min. and nobody approached me, and they did not have a receptionist. Finally someone came to me and said they would let Tina know I was here. I then waited another 15min. and still she didn't come out and speak with me. If she was running late she should have come out and communicated this to me. I couldn't even ask anyone what is going on because their is no receptionist. So..... after 30 min. I left. The next day, I had a charge on my credit card for a "no show"!!!!! Wow, the nerve of them. I should have charged Tina $ for my time wasted and her unprofessionalism. read more

I come here to see Jeni for nails! She is really the best! Friendliest gal and also makes sure your shellac lasts up to 3 weeks or more! Ive gone to local nail shops (ie the usual pink and white shops) but they start peeling off in a few days - not the case at Swank! You can also check out their hair stylists and estheticians all under one roof! A comfortable homey feel with great service. read more

This salon is very busy. The parking at this location is a mess! I always have to park all the way down by the home builder. There needs to be designated spots for the salon, jets pizza customers etc. Also stylists should be courteous and park away from the building and leave close spots for clients. Seems like each time I have been there there is never enough seating in the lobby too. Never a receptionist at the counter either. Its great that they have a thriving salon but they should pay closer attention to client needs. I have seen Tina for color and cuts. She is not one of these sophisticated stylists, a little rough around the edges. Color is ok but cuts are not very good. And for just being ok I cannot justify what she charges. read more

My hair stylist Kimmie was fabulous. She was professional and very pleasant. She answered all my questions I had about my hair. She use the best products on my hair and really took her time to get to know me and my hair. Kimmie goes above and beyond by taking before and after pictures. I had my hair colored, cut and had my first treatment of Keratin Treatment. I washed my hair after the 48 hours and I was amazed how healthy and very little I had to do to my hair. Wash and go. I sent my daughter in for a hair cut and a few face framing highlights. Kimmie then performed an unneeded Keratin treatment on her and handed her a $550 bill!!!! My college aged daughter started crying when she saw that price. Absolutely criminal! Then her husband just happened to push the %40 tip button before he handed my daughter the card reader? Oh gosh where to start? I've been to this salon a few times and never had an issue...friendly staff, cute salon, and great atmosphere. However, when I recently scheduled a cut and color I was surprised by the overall bizarre experience. I showed a picture of a balayage look to "Cesar" with a brunette base color and honey blonde, natural highlights around the face. he immediately began foiling my hair at the roots and put me under the heat, all to forget about me and let the color sit too long. I wanted to achieve a natural, bo-ho ish brunette look and came out bleach blonde, no joke. I was so disappointed. The website states that they are all professionals who specialize in color and keep up with the latest trends. WHAT a joke! When I showed Cesar the picture, he never even mentioned balayage! The stylist did not take the time for this so called "consultation" they state they do on their website. The job was rushed and half-ass. When I communicated my concerns with the owner a few hours after, all she could say was that she would add low lights. Ew? Why? Just to make my hair look even streakier? This woman does not know what she is doing! It was not until I called the salon, texted the salon, and emailed the salon the following day did I get a response from the owner, Tina. If I had a client who was dissatisfied, getting them in to correct the issue would be my first priority. This woman has no answering service to take calls, nothing. I was so blown away that I called and did not receive a return call that I just went into the salon that evening to get my money back. Tina called me a liar and claimed she never saw the picture of the desired look. Both her and the stylist, Cesar, saw the picture. He saw the picture when he started the job and Tina saw the picture when she when she approached me under the heat lamp. I mean, it was literally the next day that I confronted her. As if I forgot what happened?....like I said, bizarre. She was so much more concerned with proving her point, talking over me, arguing with me when I asked her repeatedly to calm down....than simply providing quality service and correcting the issue. There was no two way conversation. She just kept talking over me. I asked her to calm down in front of my child and she did not even listen. She kept trying to back peddle...stating things like why didn't you say something when he was doing it? (I texted her two hours later) and oh you never showed me the picture! than simply correcting the issue. it was insane. I was so frustrated and riled up I finally just said "just give me my effing refund so I can leave!" she took the fact that I used a cuss word as an opportunity to threaten to call the police. Like are we in middle school? she caused a huge scene in front of clients and left me so shaken up by her tacky and trashy behavior, I was left in tears. Even one of her own stylists consoled me and gave me her card, stating she understood and was leaving the salon. Overall, horrible customer service. They are so basic. They are not trendy or professional. Just because they have little flimsy licenses pasted on their faux brick wallpaper (lol ew) doesn't mean they know what they are doing. At the end of the day, I got my money back, and she well....caused a huge scene and surely lost clients. Like I said...tacky. This could have all been solved with a simple follow up....a prospective date to correct the color, any outreach showing genuine concern. This was not the case. Following up via text the next day after my many attempts at contacting the salon is so unprofessional. Did I not deserve a call back? Continuing to claim my texts weren't going through. Hello...pick up a phone. People these days! She has even gone as far as to put my picture up on facebook, warning other stylists about me. This means that the owner, Tina Brown, sought out my Facebook profile, saved my picture, and uploaded it to a FB board of stylists in the Brandon area. She claimed she had footage of me causing a scene. Curious about this footage lol...what? of me standing there with my daughter on my hip? Attempting to converse with a completely delusion and irrational person. A person who is so worried about defending her lousy stylist than correcting a bad dye job. So threatening, I'm sure. I emailed her to take down the picture and of course, no reply. I am disgusted......I think it all comes down to character and education. she came off real bottom of the barrel...low class.... read more

Kimmie did my hair yesterday. She was very sweet and took her time, but I did simply ask for merely a trim and a FEW highlights. She talked me into a keratin treatment, saying it was needed and if I was going to do anything to my hair it should be that. As a young adult, how the hell am I supposed to know that those treatments START at 275$?? She didn't give me a price at all, although I acknowledge that I should have been more forward. When I thought she was doing the keratin treatment, she instead did my whole hair with highlights! I mean I like it, but it was not what I asked for. I would have spoken up if I realized she was dying my head at the moment instead of doing the keratin treatment (which permanently straightened my hair- I showed her a picture of how I wanted it curly!). I was recommended to go to Kimmie so I am extremely disappointed and upset. I'm not sure how you can expect somebody to pay so much without explaining prices beforehand read more

This is probably worst hair salon I have ever been to. I have been living with hair that looks like a 5 year old did it for the past 3 months, After spending 130$ on a cut and color, having it done 3 times to try and get it to stay in my hair. It's still not staying in my hair. According to the owner, the girl that did it the prior 2 times, didn't know what she was doing, and when she did it, it would be perfect. The owner was great and was trying to fix it, or so she said, she called me one day to tell me what was going on and she was trying to get with another salon to find out what was going on, and then she ignored my calls, ignored my texts. Finally, when I do get a hold of her, she asks what I want her to do. I either want my hair fixed and my money back. Now she tells me that she will have the first stylist who did my hair get a hold of me. It would be fine if my hair was back to what it was before I went in that shop, but no, I have bright red roots, some blonde, some PINK, some brown, I look like a clown. I am asked on a daily basis, "Who did that mess on your head" and I tell them EXACTLY who did it. To be told, there is nothing I can do, and blah blah blah, is a joke. I have never in my life experienced such bad customer service. I went here because friends and family suggested this place. But with my results, and the obvious lack of customer service. We will definitely not be back. read more
