Park Avenue was my favorite, then the Delicate Arch, but holy heavens, around literally every turn there was another absolute stunner of a view. I took easily 100 pictures during my relatively short time in the park. Then, when you drive back out, you see all the same stunning views, but at different angles, and you experience those things in a brand new way. This was easily the highlight of my 3,600 mile, 12-day, 9-state road trip. You have to come here, it is nearly unbelievable how beautiful it is. You have to experience it for yourself. Absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the US, without question!

I'd heard it's small and underwhelming compared…read moreto other parks (e.g. Zion) which I do believe is true re: the size comparison, but honestly I don't think you should compare this park to ones like Zion/Glacier because the expectation is just different. This park's hikes follow one long main road that ends around a campsite area that goes to several arches including Broken Arch. I drove out their first and did this hike which is really more of a long trail. The arch was MUCH bigger than I'd expected, and it was cool to see! The weather wasn't the best -- scattered light showers creeping in but thankfully it never rained too heavily, and despite the trails being all sand/sandy dirt, my shoes stayed fairly dry and it didn't get too muddy. Along this trail are some other arches e.g. tapestry arch (there's three of them connected together). The trail is pretty flat and manageable for almost anyone, just a few areas that are a little more uphill than most but no scrambling or anything. Other cool hikes are the delicate arch trail (even if you just do the short viewpoint one, which I did), the sand dune arch, and the double arch/north window arch (more of a long walk than a hike). The skyline arch is also a nice easy pull off pic (or short walk to get closer), and the Park avenue and Garden of Eden viewpoints (+- other early viewpoints in the park) are absolutely stunning. If you're in the area, I would absolutely rec a trip to Arches NP! If you only have time to do one park in the area my personal pref would be Canyonlands rather than arches, but you can certainly see near all of arches within a day (or even a few hours if you just want to hit some of the major spots) whereas Canyonlands is MASSIVE and some areas require AWD/high clearance so Arches is much more accessible. If you really just want to hit the highlights in both, you can do it in one day (that's what I did -- left around 7a to go to mesa arch and grand overlook viewpoints @Canyonlands, then drove to arches and hit all those short trails/viewpoints mentioned above. Bikers frequently pass by on the paved pathway along the Colorado River. Walk over to the bridge and gaze up closer impressive red rock features especially with a blue sky backdrop. A peaceful rest break. *An underground spring is across the street from the parking area to fill your water jugs with; careful of passing cars.

At one point around mid hike it switches from a trail to green marks on the rocks to mark the trail. When you get close enough you can see both bow tie and corona arch in the distance, there is a ladder you need to climb and then rocks with a rail on them to get up. Seems like some dogs struggle with this, while others can get up. Another group seemed like they were struggling with getting down in this area. Bowtie arch and corona arch are both lovely and worth visiting if you are in the area.

Moab Cliffs and Canyons delivered an unforgettable experience for our whole family, including our…read more10-year-olds. The scenery was breathtaking, and the rappelling was genuinely thrilling -- scary in the best way, and a real confidence builder for the kids. Our guide Devin was fantastic -- especially when one of our kids got nervous. Devin stepped in with calm encouragement, and that kid ended up having a blast and walking away so proud of themselves. We had an amazing guide who was fun, engaging a knowledgeable about local wildlife and vegetation. After a vigorous but doable 1.5 mile hike we descended thru the canyons. We completed 3 or 4 smaller obstacles that required some roping / tethering then then culminated in the final rappel descent which is exhilarating for newbies to this sport. 100 pct highly recommend.

My advice would be that if you're swimming, to stay close to the water bed edge because the water can get rough and unpredictable. The area is full of red rock and the views are beautiful.

Most of it was HAND BUILT by the owners many decades ago. Really cool! But twelve actual minutes to run through it? Really? The docent was nice enough but obviously doesn't care about his job. It was almost funny how he was moving us through as fast as the candy on Lucy's conveyer belt. I reluctantly recommend the tour because the house/history is amazing, but the tour itself desperately needs a new guide and at least double the time to enjoy it. The girl at the front that sold the tickets was a delight: she enthusiastically answered our questions and actually seemed to enjoy engaging with guests.

Old City Park is awesome! It's a few miles out from the part of Moab that everyone visits (all the…read morehotels and restaurants), but well worth the 10-15 minute drive. The course is a full 18 holes in a very nice park that includes nice picnicking spots and a duck pond. Each hole has a beautifully made sign that includes the hole length, par, a tip for how to approach it, a Google Earth map of the tee and line to the hole, and a local sponsor. These are easily some of the better signs I've seen while playing and it made it very easy for us to go as first timers to the course. We had no problem locating baskets, the next holes, and everything else. Some of the further off baskets have awesome flags attached to the top so that you can see them from anywhere you're throwing. It made for some nice, relaxing disc golf. The course is sandy with quite a bit of trees and bushes. There is a good variety to the holes, lots of tricky shots, and lots of chances for your disc to get lost. Hole 7 was a bad one for me in particular. You start at the top of the hill and are throwing down to a basket around a corner you can't see. You are probably 50+ feet above where the basket it and the basket is 375 feet away. These kind of shots are tricky because of how the disc floats to the left when you're so high up above the ground. I landed 2 discs in the trees and had to spend quite a bit of time hunting them down, a third disc landed over in the fenced off area to the right (a watershed), but I managed to safely get it. Overall this is a great course to stop by and try out. Make sure you bring water as well, because it is always hot in Moab. This was a perfect spot for a round on our way out to play Base Camp.

This 18 hole golf is one of the best laid-out and labeled courses I have ever played. They have…read morehole markers guiding you to each tee box to minimize those moments where you stumble around searching aimlessly. Also, each tee box has a topo and hole description so that you know where to aim for those juniper - hid baskets. The course is easy to find. It's a few miles south of town off spanish trail Rd. Being it's a desert, expect heavy sage brush and a handful of junipers. All of the holes are par 3, but they lean on the longer side. So, make sure to bring a good driver and know how to use it. Nothing was terribly technical, you just need to throw the distance. Hole 16, I recall?, does have a gully off to the left (topo at tee box forewarns you). Don't underestimate it like I did. It's a good twenty foot ditch with water and steep edges. You can't see it from the tee box, but landing a disc there is a pain. If you brought disc golfs, this course makes for a great rest day activity.
