Stunning! Absolutely stunning! I've traveled on four continents and this is easily one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Park Avenue was my favorite, then the Delicate Arch, but holy heavens, around literally every turn there was another absolute stunner of a view. I took easily 100 pictures during my relatively short time in the park. Then, when you drive back out, you see all the same stunning views, but at different angles, and you experience those things in a brand new way. This was easily the highlight of my 3,600 mile, 12-day, 9-state road trip. You have to come here, it is nearly unbelievable how beautiful it is. You have to experience it for yourself. Arches NP actually was a pleasant surprise to me. I'd heard it's small and underwhelming compared to other parks (e.g. Zion) which I do believe is true re: the size comparison, but honestly I don't think you should compare this park to ones like Zion/Glacier because the expectation is just different. This park's hikes follow one long main road that ends around a campsite area that goes to several arches including Broken Arch. I drove out their first and did this hike which is really more of a long trail. The arch was MUCH bigger than I'd expected, and it was cool to see! The weather wasn't the best -- scattered light showers creeping in but thankfully it never rained too heavily, and despite the trails being all sand/sandy dirt, my shoes stayed fairly dry and it didn't get too muddy. Along this trail are some other arches e.g. tapestry arch (there's three of them connected together). The trail is pretty flat and manageable for almost anyone, just a few areas that are a little more uphill than most but no scrambling or anything. Other cool hikes are the delicate arch trail (even if you just do the short viewpoint one, which I did), the sand dune arch, and the double arch/north window arch (more of a long walk than a hike). The skyline arch is also a nice easy pull off pic (or short walk to get closer), and the Park avenue and Garden of Eden viewpoints (+- other early viewpoints in the park) are absolutely stunning. If you're in the area, I would absolutely rec a trip to Arches NP! If you only have time to do one park in the area my personal pref would be Canyonlands rather than arches, but you can certainly see near all of arches within a day (or even a few hours if you just want to hit some of the major spots) whereas Canyonlands is MASSIVE and some areas require AWD/high clearance so Arches is much more accessible. If you really just want to hit the highlights in both, you can do it in one day (that's what I did -- left around 7a to go to mesa arch and grand overlook viewpoints @Canyonlands, then drove to arches and hit all those short trails/viewpoints mentioned above. Review #2000 I have been to this park a couple of times now. I am a huge national park fan and Arches National Park is one of my favorites. The first time that I came here, I was passing through Moab with a buddy and we decided to make a quick stop here while on our way home. I had always wanted to visit here and it did not disappoint. Arches National Park offers the largest density of natural sandstone arches in the world. There are close to 2,000 of them here. There is so much to see and do at this park. I love to hike and was able to jump on a couple of trails while exploring this park. Arches National Park also has camping, rock climbing and biking. When I am visiting national parks, I try to do a hike at every park that I visit. Delicate Arch is the most popular arch and is listed as one of the best hiking trails (three miles round-trip). The arch itself is so picturesque with great panoramic views along the way. I was not able to hike it on my first visit to the park. But I made sure that I had time to hike the trail on my most recent visit. It is an amazing arch to see in person. We also hiked Devil's Garden Trail to see Landscape Arch. It is the longest arch in the park and the trail is shorter and easier to do. Even though we didn't hike the full trail, Park Avenue Trail is the first attraction that you see after passing by the visitor center. It is a great introduction to the park. You see colossal sandstone walls on both sides of the trail that resemble skyscrapers. If hiking is not your thing, there are many scenic driving routes for viewing some of the park's largest arches. They even have a viewpoint with a shorter walking distance for checking out Delicate Arch from afar if you cannot do the hike. The visitor center is really nice with rangers on hand to answer questions. They have a topographical map of the park and lots of educational material to read. Some of the other highlights of the park that I enjoyed checking out were The Organ (Courthouse Towers), Double Arch, Balanced Rock, Garden of Eden and the Window Arches. Arches National Park is such a unique park. I enjoyed reading about how this park came about. The park itself lies above an underground salt bed which helped cause the formation of these arches over time. There are hotels in nearby Moab for lodging and a number of great places to eat at. Canyonlands National Park is not too far if you want to add more exploration to your trip here. Admission is free with an America the Beautiful National Park Pass. read more

Arches National Park is absolutely breathtaking. The scale, the colors, and the natural formations feel almost unreal. We arrived midday, and the heat was intense, so we weren't able to hike to many of the arches. Even so, we still saw a lot just from the viewpoints and shorter walks, it's stunning no matter how you experience it. One thing to note: parking at Devils Garden is very limited and can be difficult, especially later in the day. That area is one of the most popular spots in the park. Travel tips: * Go early--ideally at sunrise--and start at the far end (Devils Garden), then work your way back toward the entrance * Bring plenty of water (more than you think you need) * Wear proper shoes--the terrain is uneven and sandy * Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses are essential--the sun is strong and there's little shade * Check if timed entry reservations are required during peak season * Don't rush--plan stops and take your time at viewpoints, even if you're not hiking far Even with the heat limiting our hikes, this was an unforgettable experience. Truly a must visit national park. This is one of Utah's awesome 5 national parks and one that you should check out, without a doubt. One of the busier of the 5 parks but you should still be able to get in pretty easily and park at each of the trails and viewpoints. Each turn you make in Arches feels like you're traveling to another planet. The sights are incredible and truly out of this world. You can feel the history of this place each moment you're here. Truly magnificent. I'm not much of a hiker but there are some easier trails that even beginners should be able to handle at a reasonable pace. Truly amazing park with so many different hikes . The Arches hike was very hot today and super windy . When you hike up its wide open no shade so bring plenty of water and electrolytes and Wear long sleeves and sunscreen. Also solid shoes , I saw pple in flip flops. Once you get to the top where you turn the corner too see the Arch it is steep too get down. It was 55 mph wind today and so we could only stay 5 min without blowing off the Mountain. The park ranger said it was very dangerous today and has not seen it that windy . Glad we surviived . Its Truly Gods playground . read more

Looking at the pictures of Arches NP I felt there would be more arches on the drive that would be visible from the drive. As someone who is challenged with hikes it was extremely disappointing as there was only one arch that was visible without a hike. I've had open heart surgery not that long ago and I can't hike 2 miles to see an arch. When we drove down the 191 we saw an arch that was so much better then what we saw in the park. I'm glad that I have a park pass that doesn't required me to pay as I would have been very disappointed with what I saw. read more

We spent two full days doing all arches- Delicate Arch (sunset!), Windows Loop, Double Arch, Sand Dune Arch (kids played for an hour), Landscape Arch, and the Devils Garden primitive trail. Even the younger one hiked everything without complaint. Trails are well marked, plenty of spots with ropes/chains for fun scrambling. Get there at opening to beat crowds. This park is beautiful and has enough for everyone to do and explore. Arches NP, near Moab is a lovely National Park. They have the highest concentration of natural arches in the world, hence the name. I learned there that most arches are formed from the erosion of ancient, petrified sand dunes (you can see these at Arches too!). Getting into the park, you will need a timed entry pass, which you can get in advance online. The line to get in is still pretty slow, so make sure to add a good twenty to thirty minutes onto your travel time to get through the gate. The visitors center is really excellent, a large educational area, and a very large gift shop, always one of my favorite parts of a park. There is a road that goes into the park, with many scenic viewpoints for the day visitor to enjoy. The easier hikes to spectacular arches are crowded, even with the timed entries. Double Arch is a good example of this. What I love best about Arches is that there is a great mix of day trip sights and longer, more intensive hikes, so no matter your travel style, you will leave happy. Thanks to the timed entry, most of the park offers a bit of serenity and not over packed with people being .....people. Love the park, and I think most people who visit leave feeling the same. read more

Arches was fantastic. The views are awe inspiring. I came during the government shutdown in October of 2025. This was probably a very good thing. The place was not too crowded and it was free entry. I enjoyed multiple hikes and everywhere you look as a stunning view. There facilities within the park are limited to outdoor style bathrooms and no form of food service. If you are coming for the day, make sure you bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, and a hat. I will return with friends in the future. read more

Hands down, my favorite national park... and trust me, i've been to my fair share of national parks. Yosemite and Zion are close second and thirds. I don't know what makes this my favorite park, and honestly i kinda messed up by not brining enough water, but i still had a blast hiking up to Delicate Arch. Words can not describe how magical it was seeing the Delicate Arch for the first time after hiking up the trail. Keep in mind, it not a easy hike, but you know the saying "nothing worth having comes easy". I easily spent 1-2 hours at the top of the delicate arch, and took so many pictures. What i even like about this arch, is that if you don't want to hike or are immobile, the park has a trail that's paved to view the arch from a distance. (Lower Delicate Arch Viewpoint) After hiking, we finished our water and didn't have extra in the car... otherwise i'd continue my journey to the Devil's Garden Trail. I wish i stay around Moab for longer. But i'll definitely be back in the future. read more

We visited Arches National Park with our 2.5-year-old and were blown away by how accessible it was for a toddler. If you're worried about bringing a little one to the desert, don't be! The park offers several manageable hikes and a fantastic "giant sandbox" experience. Top Tips for Parents: Time: Budget 2 full days. This allows you to see the sights without rushing or risking a mid-day meltdown. The Best Hikes: We highly recommend Balanced Rock, Sand Dune Arch (it's a massive hit with kids because of the deep sand play), and The Windows Section. Where to Stay: Stay in Moab. It's incredibly convenient to the park entrance and has plenty of family-friendly amenities. The Visitor Center: Don't skip it! Arches National Park is the most gorgeous oven I've ever walked through. It's like nature said, "Let's be absolutely stunning... and crank the thermostat to broil." Everywhere you turn is another rock doing yoga--balancing, arching, posing for your Instagram--while the sun tries to cook you medium-well. I spent the whole hike flip-flopping between awe and mild heatstroke. One minute I was whispering "wow" like I was in a museum, the next I was debating if I could survive on the condensation from my own water bottle. But oh, the views! These red rock arches rise out of the earth like they're defying gravity just to impress you--and it works. It's hot. It's breathtaking. This is an extremely popular park, so if you're reading this review, you're probably savvy enough to know that at certain times of the year, a ticketed reservation system is needed to enter. I think a full day or two is enough to experience the park in its entirety unless you're nature watching or trying to get that perfect shot. My favorite location was Devils Garden. The full hike entails climbing up and down some sandstone fins and rockfaces. There are fewer people along the trail as you go along. The primitive trail is well marked with tree branches being tagged so it's hard to get lost. Bring footwear with traction, water, and a hat. If you're someone with limited mobility, the Windows section might be a good option. You can see a bunch of arches from the parking lot, and a lot of the trails are flat. The Double Arch trail is considered "barrier free." The trail has a hard packed surface. read more

Arches National Park is breathtaking--one of those places everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. What's great is that you can tailor your visit to your comfort level. Many arches can be seen with short, easy walks or even from the road, while others require longer, more strenuous hikes. We almost wished we had planned two full days here to take in more of what the park offers. Since dogs are not allowed on the trails, Luna joined us for the scenic drive through the park. She got to "experience" Arches from the car, which was still special, but we respected the rules and didn't take her hiking. Pets are only allowed in parking areas, campgrounds, and along paved roads on a leash. After the drive, we brought Luna back to the hotel to rest and cool off so my husband and I could return to do some hikes on our own. Entry to the park is $30 per car, but since we were also visiting Canyonlands, we purchased the America the Beautiful annual pass for $80, which covers all U.S. national parks for a year. Here are the trails and stops we covered: Balanced Rock - Easy 0.3-mile loop. You can walk all around the formation to see it from different angles. Windows Section - About 1 mile total, with stairs leading up to North and South Windows and a view of Turret Arch nearby. Great if you want to see several arches without too much walking. Delicate Arch Upper Viewpoint - A short but steep 0.5-mile round trip. This is a good option if you don't have time or energy for the full 3-mile hike to the base but still want a clear view. Broken Arch - A short, straightforward hike with nice views. Skyline Arch - Another easy trail, perfect for quick exploration. Entry/Reservations: From April through October, you need a timed-entry reservation between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you arrive earlier or later, you can enter without one. Overall, Arches is beyond worth it, whether you do a scenic drive or a full day of hikes. It's a place of pure natural wonder. read more

Came all the way to Moab, Utah to see Arches National Park -- and we were not disappointed. The natural beauty and breathtaking scenery, both in the park and the surrounding area, are amazing. Upon entering the park, you need to pay $30 per vehicle -- a good deal. The park ranger was very friendly and helpful. We got a map, though I should have asked for another. We decided to take the 4-mile hike out to the Double Arch. There was a nicely paved, winding road that took about 15 minutes to reach the trailhead. It was a beautiful drive that allowed us to see the different geology along the way. At the trailhead, there were restrooms and water available. The trail was marked and did a pretty good job of keeping you on track (although we managed to take a wrong turn and had to backtrack a little). This trail can be difficult in spots, and you need to take your time and exercise caution. The other people on the trail were all courteous and patient. Reaching the Double Arch was an experience of a lifetime. Such a beautiful spot. So glad the National Park Service does such an amazing job preserving it. read more

We had a great time exploring Arches! It's a smaller park so we were able to hit everything in half a day. We hiked: Deliate Arch - 3mi Landscape Arch - 1.8mi Double Arch - 0.6mi Sand Dune Arch - 0.4mi Windows Viewpoint - 1mi Beautiful views and the park, roads, and trails were not busy at all (maybe because it's the middle of July and hit 100° pretty quick!). Overall, Arches has some of the most unique landforms, is easy to navigate, but can get so hot and doesn't have quite enough water stations. read more

Hi-ya! We visited the mighty five national parks and arches was one of them. The park was open when we went--no gov't shutdown, so we got to get our stamps and enjoy the park and talk to the park staff about trails and what to look for. I haven't been to a park before this besides Yosemite and like the redwoods, but seeing the arches really puts things in perspective of how small we are and how amazing outdoors are. Took a trip up here to check out Arches. We took advantage of my daughter being in 4th grade. (Everykidoutdoors.gov). If you have a kid in 4th grade, you can get free admission to almost every National Park in the US. Pretty freaking sweet! Anyways...... The park itself was nicely spread out. You can drive the whole park in about an hour or two and that's stopping at a lot of spots to take pictures. We went on a Sunday afternoon and our ticket was between 3-4pm, aka the hottest part of the day. It was like 102 out, so we didn't want to do any hiking. The only "hike" we did was to see "Sand Arch" and it was only like 1/4 mile. Everything else we saw from a distance. I would definitely return in the Spring or Fall/Early Winter when you can actually hike the trails to see stuff when its not blazing hot out. My kids weren't that impressed, but they are 9 and 11 so I think they were just hot and burnt out from driving a lot to get here lol. Glad I got to see it and will make it a point to come back at some point in the future. read more

Parks pass in hand we stopped by to attempt to see the Milky Way. But the moon was still too bright. We did have fun trying out night mode on our phone cameras. And enjoying the quiet. It was cool. Quite a bit of traffic even in the night time. The wash of headlights was annoying. And the people who didn't turn off their lights while sitting in their car. Pretty views. Gorgeous National Park. We saw the Balanced Rock, Delicate Arch, and the Double Arch. I recommend all of those. Hike to the Delicate Arch, it's not easy, more of a moderate hike about a mile long, but it's well worth it. Have shoes with grip. My Nike trailrunners didn't have enough grip. March was the perfect time to visit, not too cold or hot, around 60-70 degrees and not crowded. read more

An incredible National Park with views like you've never imagined! So many trails and viewpoints for all levels ranging from hikes with scrambles to 0.1 mile hikes to a viewpoint. Bathrooms well maintained even during government shutdown and most trailheads with plenty of parking. At the end of October it started off cold earlier in the day but by afternoon it as quite warm. Arches is a national treasure. I think I have been about dozen times by now and I've hiked almost every single trail. It's chaotic during timed entry season but the wait isn't terrible. They do a good job managing the flow of traffic so you can usually find a parking spot at any trailhead (maybe not delicate arch). Every season is magical here. It's wicked hot in the summer and icy in the winter but just throw on some spikes. You won't regret a visit here! read more

While beautiful hikes and viewpoints can be found for free all around Moab, I still feel that Arches National Park is well worth the price to enter. We went on a Friday during high season (spring break) and for one car it was $30 and it was definitely busy, but not crazy, you could always find parking and have some space on the trail. There is a variety of lengths of trails to see the iconic arches, making the park accessible to families and people of varying ages and abilities. We got lucky with a shady day but the sun would have been intense otherwise with barely any shade. I would've loved to spend more time there and luckily, the pass actually lasts you a week, so you could really get your moneys worth and do all the hikes over that time, though the times we ended up trying to go back in the following days, the line to get in was super long or they had closed it temporarily because they were at capacity. That was my only qualm with the place because we had been trying to go to back to the visitors center because it closed before we finished hiking but weren't able to because of lines and closures. Overall very well maintained, pretty good signage and roads and decent prices. That said, if you don't have as much time, I would maybe recommend going somewhere less busy where you don't have to pay to avoid the complications. This park was GORGEOUS. We made a last second plan to make a trip out to Moab for Labor Day Weekend, and it did not disappoint. There are lots of scenic hikes to do, I would HIGHLY recommend making the trip out to the Delicate Arch. It was breathtaking, just be ready for the hike and some slightly precarious terrain when you get there. If you're terrified of heights, it may not be your trail. I will also say, it's a very accessible park. Plenty of scenic lookouts with minimal hiking that are pretty handicap friendly. There is absolutely something for everyone here.
