Swartz Electric is the best of the best. Their customer service was on it from day one, they have been in constant communication and set great expectations via email, phone calls and text. They quoted me for running dedicated lines from my panel to the bar, wired my wine chiller and refrigerators, put dimmers on the cans and pendant lights and fixed my mistakes I made with the bathroom lighting. Needless to say, mine was a pretty big job that they knocked out in a day and a half. All technicians were friendly and professional. They showed up on time and worked quickly. Great attention to detail. They might be a bit more than some, but for the scope of work they were very reasonable. You definitely won't be sorry you paid the money. I highly recommend Jairo Villalobos and his team (Briana, Bruce, and "Jaco"). Swartz Electric has my vote for the best electricians and service in Colorado Springs and possibly all of CO. I do not recommend this company. It was acquired in November 2025. Disregard any great reviews prior to that date--it's a fundamentally different business now. Summary: Electrician was here less than an hour, flipped some switches in my electrical box, and charged me ~$400. I had used this company prior to the acquisition/merger, and they were phenomenal. I thought I'd found my "no-brainer"--any time I needed electrical work done, I'd go to Swartz. Based on my recent experience, I would never do business with them again. Post-acquisition, there is a ~$58-$68 fee that is simply a dispatch charge to get an electrician to your door and does not include any actual work or troubleshooting. That fee itself is reasonable. What followed was not. A simple electrical issue was escalated into an unnecessary "advanced diagnostic" costing $381 (also new as of the acquisition), only for the electrician to eventually discover that the problem was just partially tripped breakers that needed to be fully reset. That is the most basic troubleshooting step and should have been done immediately. There is no safety rule, code requirement, or licensing restriction that prevents an electrician from resetting a breaker during an initial assessment. An electrician might reasonably pause only if there is evidence of burn marks, overheating, a breaker that immediately re-trips, water intrusion, known damaged wiring, or commercial lockout-tagout requirements. None of those conditions applied here. Any suggestion otherwise reflects company policy or sales process--not an industry standard. Instead of resolving the issue upfront, I was pushed toward advanced diagnostics and then told the $381 diagnostic fee could be waived if I agreed to replace three plug-in breaker components for approximately $1,200. The components were on the older side, but still functional. They will one day die, and when they do, it will not be Swartz Electric replacing them. This experience felt like a textbook upsell rather than competent, methodical troubleshooting. Nothing about this situation justified advanced diagnostics or costly replacements. The issue required no parts, no special tools, and no advanced expertise. Given how different the experience was before the acquisition, I strongly suspect many of the positive reviews reflect the company as it used to operate, not how it does now. Proceed with extreme caution. read more

I got bids from 2 electricians for an EV charger install and I wish now I had used the other one. Although the Swartz quote was higher at $1000, I went with them as they said they would install going through the attic access that is in the garage and go down to the charger instead of going across the studs and they guaranteed a pass. The installation I got instead is a mess with going up and down through the studs instead of through the attic area and it did NOT pass. I was told by the electrician that the office would call to schedule the inspection, after a week I called the office only to be told they didn't know a permit was requested (yet it was in the installation and listed in quote). The office told me they would call me when they knew the inspector would come out. Nope, instead I got a call from the inspector the next day and said he was on his way thankfully I hadn't left the house yet but was about to, so I stuck around. He failed the inspection due to no GFI breaker. I called Swartz and let them know they failed, and they sent out 2 people for the next day. According to them it didn't need a GFI breaker as it was built into the charger itself. They said they would contact the inspector and get it sorted out. I then texted the office telling them to let me know if the inspector would need to come back or email me the passed permit. Two weeks went by with no communication, and I checked the website for building permits, and it is still listed as a Fail. I left a voicemail yesterday and had my husband leave one today and no response. I spent $1000 on an EV charger to be installed to fail and not be installed the way I was quoted. Their communication is terrible; they can't pass inspection but they already have my money so what do they care? I will be using a different company when we finish our basement. read more

After waiting a month for an estimate, and taking the morning off work to sit and wait for them to show up, I finally called with 30 minutes left in the window only to be told they'd "sent an email cancelling the appointment" because they "don't have the staff to do the job." I eventually found that they did send an email, from a name that wasn't their normal company domain name (.biz instead of .com) so gmail sent it instantly to SPAM. I'm sorry, but cancelling an agreed upon and confirmed appointment is something you do over the phone, not via an email. I wanted a Federal Pacific breaker box swapped out. They literally sell that as a kit to electricians. A month-long wait to be told they won't take my money even if I want to pay them. Amazing. And that's after they cost me a half-day of work. An electrical contractor that doesn't have the staff to do electrical work. Absurd. I'll give them one extra star because their spam-folder cancellation notice included other companies that may actually want to do work. Now I just have to decide if I'd trust them to offer advice on electricians. read more

All in all did a good job. Paid $325 to have an outlet added above my fireplace. Only took the technician about 30-40 minutes to install. Reason for the 4 out of 5 star is quality of work and price. The 30-40 minutes of work seemed to cost a lot. The quality of work was compromised when the technician hit a stud that he didn't see with the saw and had to move the outlet slightly to the left leaving a saw hole exposed in my wall. A stud finder could have avoided this mishap. Tried filling it with white caulk on a gray wall (see photo). read more

I contacted Swartz Electric to have the transfer switch installed on my home breaker panel. Chris S, with Swartz Electric, arrived at my house to install the transfer switch which he said would be simple to do plus the device came with complete instructions. However, Chris S mis-wired the transfer switch to the breaker box resulting in him destroying my Yeti battery backup system while testing if the transfer worked. This mistake cost me over $2,000 for a replacement Yeti. I will not use this company again nor recommend Swartz Electric. read more

I called the office to make appointment. Advised of the laundry list I wanted to have done. The office allocated 5 hours and it would be $128. per hour. They arrived at 8:45. I wanted to have door bells replaced (which I purchased prior to their arrival - 3), and I had a new transponder. They only replaced one and charged me for a transponder, they said they would use the new one I have for the other doors which they would have to come back to do as there wasn't enough time as they were only allocated 4 hours; however they were here only 3. I wanted them to find the original transponder to my doorbell so they could hook the door bells up to the current configuration. They walked around, advised I thought it was in the addic. They said they thought it would take them an hour to look for it and it would cost me more money. In my mind, that translates to laziness. They found a work around by cutting into the sheet rock and putting the transponder into the wall. Not what I had wanted, but needed to have this done. I had 3 other lights replaced which I purchased prior to their arrival, and I purchased a hardwire smoke alarm from them. They charged me $721. That is price gouging. I will say the guys were nice and did try to find a solution, other that what I was looking for. However, I was not impressed. I did call the office and advised of how unhappy I was, they ended up refunding me $240. I wanted to let others know that the office tried to make things right, which I appreciate - however, this should have never happened with the guys in the field. read more

They gave us a bill for $392.00 and left my house exactly as they found it. In other words they did nothing. They then sent an estimate for over $1000.00 To fiix the problem and told us to find the part ourselves. We have since had it fixed. They completely misdiagnosed it. It was a $20.00 part and took less then 5 min to fix. Call someone who knows what they are doing and save a lot of money. I hope they were just incompetent and not trying to rip us off. read more

I called Swartz Electric to have a lamp replaced in one of the large lights in a warehouse that I rent. Bruce was able to come out quickly and get the light up and running very quickly; he was also a fun guy to talk to. While he was there he got me an estimate to swap out the old ballast style system to an LED system. The cost for that days work was less than I had expected and the estimate for the LED system was way less than I was expecting. Okay here is the deal. After reading all of the reviews here I honestly wasn't sure if they were legit or not, because who in the heck has so many 5 star ratings!!!! I have to say they are legit, at least in my experience they were. I called on a weekend and the Electrician I talked to explained to me what he thought was the issue and how much it would cost for an emergency visit and that he personally would wait until a work day to get it looked at. So on monday since he had a cancellation he came out and tested everything in my electrical panel and including all of my outlets. It ended up being something that was wrong on the Utilities side but they won't come out and service it unless he did his checks first. He was done within the hour, courteous and informative. The next closest couldn't get an estimate out for me in weeks. Others just never returned my calls but eventually emailed/texted. Swartz was obviously serious about getting my business. The estimator, Jorge was extremely professional and thorough. Quite honestly, the estimate took my breath away and seemed very high, but we had some extensive work to do including adding four new circuits to our breaker panel and installation of two towel warmers.
