They also brought 2 generators for my home and my neighbor's. We decided not to use them, it was only 5+ hours. We were informed not to open our refrigerators, to keep our food cold. THE WORST!!! Calls not returned; cannot get thru to a human - and when you do it's not the right human. Even if you know who you need to talk with you can't. Their AI answering system routes you to someone who needs to take a message because they cant transfer you to the person you really need to talk with. You leave a message and cant get a call back or even if you do, that person cannot help you and you need to wait for another call back. Their technicians wont stay because customers are so angry about the horrible communication they take it out on the technician (who is really nice and competent) - but the technicians are given the wrong orders and arrive at your site unprepared and have to reschedule. Oh my gosh! I've never seen such a cluster #*¥! In communication before in my life! Who cares about the technician when you have a heart attack just trying to communicate! I had to wire my basement for a bedroom and bathroom with electrical panel work. Before the job was done they wanted 100% of their money and failed inspections! Never ... ever ... again! Once this job is complete I will never use this company again!!! read more

Called them in to help for some basic wiring. While they did run an extra wire and performed some breaker panel upgrades, I was drastically up sold and ended up paying over $8000. I expected it to be done right but I had to have another electrician out to correct a mistake they made for another $1200. Overall, really disappointing and I wish I would've gone with someone else. read more

Install a replacement light fixture to ceiling in a closet after I had spent 30 to 45 minutes attempting unsuccessfully trying to do it myself. I called Wire Nut and Jared Hanes came soon and completed the installation in about 5 minutes and the light works quite well. read more

At 2:00 of said day I was told they could not come and when I called to reschedule the only appointment they offered was one week later. I previously left this company a good review, because the majority ofnour experiences with their staff were amazing and also because the employees themselves mentioned how it is a great company to work for. However I am now going to leave another review which reflects as a whole my entire experience of several appointments over a few month period. Beginning of the year had our furnace serviced, as it is rather old but a top brand and has been running well without issue. Our thought was that we want it to last several years more, so we will do whatever is recommended to keep it going. The technician said it is in excellent shape and aside from needing a cleaning and a new capacitor, there is nothing wrong with it nor worn out. We had the cleaning done and the capacitor replaced. It continued to work as it had been previously. At this appointment it was mentioned how filthy our ductwork is (which was not deniable due to live camera scoping.) It was explained that cleaning the ducts would help to lengthen the life of the furnace. We therefore scheduled it and had this completed. It costs thousands of dollars, but the team did a very good job and we were happy to have taken care of it. Unfortunately, later after the team had gone, when the furnace was turned back on after this cleaning, it sounded terrible. Not only was it twice as loud, but there was a high pitched shrill vibration which you can actually feel if standing near it AND it rattled like there was some sort of loose part. We waited a couple weeks to see if this would subside, as I thought perhaps there was residual dust that needed to settle, even though i had previously specifically asked if this would cause any strain on the furnace when so much dust was displaced, and was told that was not a concern. After over a month, we were extremely tired of listening to the terrible furnace noises and super regretful that we had the ductwork cleaned. We called the company to request they come out and see what was causing all the noise. A tech came out and firstly claimed that he didn't heat the noises we were hearing (while we were standing there listening to them) and then upon opening up the furnace made some claim that he had found a loose screw that just needed tightening. Firstly, if there was a loose screw, that is on them since they were the last ones in the furnace. Secondly, nothing changed after the screw was tightened. Nonetheless this tech claimed "everything sounded good to him" and charged us a $90 trip fee and left. There is nothing else to be done at this point but we would NEVER have cleaned the ducts had we known this would be the result. We've considered selling our place recently, but I'm not even sure anyone will buy it with the noises coming from the furnace. If I was considting buying this home, I would require a new furnace after hearing the sound of this current one. read more

Less than 4 years ago Wirenut installed a brand new water heater. (They were chosen by the previous home owners). Last week that water heater started to smell like melting plastic. The technician came out and told us the water heater we had (that THEY installed) was known to be defective and would need to be replaced. Because it was less than 6 years old it was covered by warranty... except it did not cover labor. They quoted us $2,000 for the install. Which was $500-$1,000 more than the quotes from other companies quoted for labor. But here's the kicker: Wirenut got the original water heater from the Home Depot Warehouse in Aurora, whereas everyone else gets theirs from Rampart here in town. This meant no other company could exchange the original water heater under warranty. So we were stuck with Wirenut even though they significantly over charge. They got the water heater in the next day which was fine but they left our house TRASHED. The carpet in the room next to the install space was soaked. The wood floor in the install room had standing puddles of water. There was dirt and debris all over the floor. They used OUR roll of paper towels and left the used/dirty ones on our area rug upstairs. Overall it was a nightmare dealing with them and hopefully we will never need to again. Definitely shop around for quotes. read more

After the last hard freeze, we returned to our home to find our basement flooded. We called several services but none had a plumber to send until the next day. Howeve, WireNut did. Nick and Chris came out much quicker than expecte, located and repaired the issue in a short time. In addition, they pointed us to a restoration company to help with the cleanup (lots of mud and other stuff), haul away all of the damaged items from the flood, etc. Totally satisfied with the level of service we received on short notice, on a very busy day. read more

Carter was here yesterday and installed a new can light in my kitchen. That light has been needing repair for quite a while. On Wire nuts last service call here they attempted to repair it but also told me they believed that we might need to replace it. And indeed we did. It's really nice that that light works again. So we had Wirenut quote a project to run electricity to our 2 sheds, and based on my initial experience with the person who came to estimate the job, I contracted with them. We had a few small issues between the estimate and the job itself, and it did take twice as many days than the two they said it would take, but at each turn they did right by us. Their crew was very capable and good to work with, and the result is worth it. We have plenty of power to my workshop shed and the one my wife took over to store and work with her vast library of educational materials (that are no longer taking up and entire room in our house!). The following are those who worked on our project (and my rating of them individually)--thank you! Chance Seymour *** (three stars)--I thought him knowledgeable and competent, and while the small issues we ran into along the way appeared in part to come from ways he communicated the scope of work to the team who did the work, he steered us well overall. Paul Torres ***** (five stars)--resolved the issues well when he encountered them doing everything he could to make things right and did a great job! He had the customer's back and is a credit to the company. Taylor Hughes ***** (five stars)--worked hard without complaint and was clearly an asset to her crew and great to work with for me, the customer. Also a great credit to the company. Liam Boyce **** (four stars)--also worked well, but was only with us for two of the four days, so I did not interact with him much. Nicholas Olofsson ***** (five stars)--came in to finish the job after Paul had to leave for a trip and, with Taylor, drove hard to finish well. Kept me well informed. Great customer skills and competence. Also a great credit to the company. We will certainly consider using Wirenut for future projects, the next of which will be making a laundry room out of the room that used to hold my wife's ed stuff. read more

Technician came out to do a so called A/C tune up. Was told my unit was to old and needed to be replaced for $11,000. A new blower motor for $1800 dollars. A 60 volt converter for $700. However, the until still works just doesn't get really cold. I guess if you have a car over made before 2005 and the A/C doesn't work you need to get a new car??? Another company quoted me a new A/C installed for $6000. read more

I was able to make an emergency appointment as I had water coming out of the valves and shower head. Jason V. came out within an hour and found the leak and redid some piping that had been damaged. We were able to turn the water back. We appreciate all his hard work and his dedication to the quality of work that was done. All the while cleaning up after himself & taking the trash with him. I had a terrible experience with WireNut. I thought I would give it a day. Give it some time before I posted my review. After being bumped from the schedule two weeks prior, the tech showed up. He came in and proceeded to take photos. First, lets look at your electric panel. Click. First photo. We went down to the furnace. He took off the door. Click, click, click, click. How old is this furnace! Seven years. Who sold you this furnace? This furnace is filthy. I said I have it serviced each season. No one has told me this before. He said it would be $800 to clean. I said please close the furnace. We are done. It was the strangest service call I ever experienced. Wth happened to WireNut? I felt like it is all about the money. I know the money is important, of course it is. That's cool. But this was more than that. I use to have a great relationship with them and really liked the techs. This time I felt it was more about how much can I squeeze out of this homeowner. We are going with a small local company. I will pay them for what needs to be done. Fair and square. I'm writing this to warn anyone needing a electrical panel replacement about Wire Nut's questionable ethics in pricing. I have a 50 year old home in SE Colo Spgs, with a Federal Pacific panel, notoriously dangerous for not tripping, which can cause electrical fires. It's bad enough that the building code waives mandatory items such as outside cutoffs & other items in new installs, to make it more affordable. It's a $2-3k difference, but my quote from wire nut didn't even tell me about this option. In recent text conversations with Colleen in customer service, she said they know about the building code special rule, but could not explain why they didn't tell me about it. She "rejected my opinion that it could only be due to unethical and greedy business practices", but offered no other reason they would withhold this info. If someone in my area needs to replace this brand of panel to make their home safer, and the county has a special rule to make it financially possible, who is wire nut to not disclose that?!! They seem to value profit over the resident's family safety. read more

I had WireNut put in a couple of electrical outlets, install a toilet and change two shower heads. The three technicians that worked on these projects were all competent and very professional. However, the cost was $5,000. My internet search for typical cost for the similar services indicated my cost should have been at most, about $2,500. Total technician hours on the job were about 15. Material cost was less than $250 and I bought the toilet myself. The technicians appear to be trained to persuade you to "upscale" your projects to more expensive ones and/or to do projects beyond what you requested. The booking process is smooth and they were able to come quickly. I was under some time pressure which is the main reason I did not more strongly resist what I think was exorbitant pricing. Bottomline, the work was good but the pricing was high. read more
