Now, the repair and parts counter area I have visited a few times and they did get what I needed but they tend to gravitate to the old timers and regulars to visit about Aunt Bea and Opie before acknowledging the more unfamiliar face. When you talk to them it's usually unpleasant as in they are doing you a huge favor by just speaking to you. Moving to the equipment outside. We were poised to purchase several gates and panels however there were no prices to be found on the products and the website is of no help whatsoever as far as pricing of said items go. As far as shopping with Race Brothers in the future, yes we will still come by for chemicals and sprays and the occasional pair of gloves. That said, it is never my first choice due to the issues we have had with customer service, including getting snarled at for an honest, documented return and encountering clueless help in the small engine parts department. Last year, in the middle of growing season, we went in search of some vegetable and flower seeds in this FARM store only to find there were none. After many minutes and much discussion, we were lead to some closed plastic tubs full of mixed seed packets and told we could dig through them if we wanted. Since the packets were not grouped or ordered in any way, it was frustrating to stoop over and try to find anything, but we managed to locate a few things, which we were charged full price for even though by all appearances the seeds were on the way out. Overall, this is a fun store to shop, and if I thought they wanted my business I might spend more time and money here. ****Update 5/8/25**** I dropped one star based on the experience we had a few days ago. We were greeted as we walked in by an employee I had not seen before (common experience here). He then proceeded to "tail" us as we went around the store; I haven't had someone follow and watch me like this in 45 years. He appeared on every aisle we moved to, and pretended to be straightening racks that were perfectly straight- never approaching and asking if we needed help. So I guess we look like oldster shoplifters. Very creepy and a real incentive to shop elsewhere.

On Feb, 19 2025 I purchased a space heater, and at checkout the young lady kept pushing the extended warranty and pushing, I refused it, like I always do, you see I believe that when you purchase an item with your hard earned money the quality of such item should be good enough that you shouldn't really need an extended warranty, these warrantys are a rip off in my opinion. I'm a plumber w a business and if I sell you a kitchen sink, guess what, I'll guarantee that sink as well as labor for a year, that's included, no questions it's automatic and I believe people expect that warranty and expect me to honor it. I do and always have. Common sense right??? Well the weather cools way down so I opened up my space heater, plugged it in and it was hardly moving any air, like there was a problem with the fan or something and it would get hot and trip my breaker, so I wrapped it up in the box and set it aside until I could return it. On the 27 of Feb I believe I gathered my receipt and headed to Atwood's. When it was my turn at the counter I explained to the lady what had happened and said I would like to return the item.She asked for a receipt, and I produced it, after staring at the receipt and checking over heater she says ,Did you purchase the extended warranty? I replied " no ma'am I didn't" she replied," well you have to have the extended warranty before we will return the item," I then saute, but it's only been 8 days and only used 1 time briefly, it's defective and explained what the item was doing. Shaking her head mouthing the word " no" over and over I asked , are you telling me that yr standard warranty that comes with every item sold in here does not cover any item sold in here and we have to purchase a. Extended warranty to be covered??????? She then got confused after trying to justify the policy she is babbling about but at the same time she is not sure how to respond because she is just repeating what someone has put in her head, but she knows I'm right in the common sense I just informed her of, then she points to the next register and say ," you'll have to talk to Bob, or bill, I forgot what his name is, but anyway I pushed my buggy in his direction thinking ok this guy will understand what I'm talking about,,,,,WRONG!!!! He's says you gotta have the extended warranty you will have to send it back to the manufacturer and blah blah blah, he said do u want to exchange it? I said no, he said you should have got the extended warranty your in your own you'll have to deal w the manufacturer, we don't do things like that, it's your responsibility. I then stated so your in store warranty doesn't cover anything for no amount of time and you'll exchange the heater right now but since I didn't purchase the extended warranty, you will not warranty you item I purchased and didn't work???? But if I had purchased the extended warranty, you will exchange the item and you will deal w sending , I remained calm and didntause a scene, but that's it in a nutshell.
