SWAT Plumbing said I must use their excavation crew or they wouldn't be liable. Because of this, we went with SWAT's excavation crew, even though it was several thousand more dollars than we would have paid. SWAT repaired our waste water line. SWAT demanded payment and charged our credit card without authorization BEFORE work was completed and THEN damaged the fresh water line during backfill of trenches, causing a water leak. After telling me on the phone that it would be rectified, I was ghosted, I have yet to receive a return call. However my husband did get an email, days later, saying it would be an additional $900 plus excavation but would not include backfill - to repair the damage that this company caused to my fresh water line. Over $7,000 has been paid and this company refuses to repair damage caused by the work of their representatives. Altho I cannot definitively say that the damage this company has caused was intentional, it does not take a rocket scientist to know that 1 + 1 = 2; or in this case another couple thousand dollars. If you are looking for professionalism and integrity from a company that you hire, don't hire SWAT Plumbing. read more

Do not use this Company is a scam, they just try to rip off customers. A plumber was assigned to my house through my home warranty company AHS, the issue I have is a small leak in my kitchen faucet that only drip some water by the side when I turned on the faucet, based on my research and advise from other plumbers. It just needs a gasket change inside the faucet. Since I am not an expert doing this and since I have my AHS account, I decided to call them. they assigned this contractor SWAT Plumbing. When they came to my house, they did not even try to fix the dripping faucet, they went straight to check the water pressure and advise my AHS company that the reason my faucet is dripping is because my water pressure was above normal and need to install a prv and expansion tank which is $2.3K estimation cost not covered by the home insurance. First time in my 20-year owing a house and dealing with repairs, that a simple water leak in my faucet will cost me $2.3K to be fixed. Of course, they say they cannot fix the faucet until the expansion tank is installed. What a rip off company just trying to make money from residents. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Plumbing can be challenging. For me, the important things are that the technician communicates well, finishes the job, and is pleasant to work with. Despite some issues on my end, SWAT did a great job and the technician was extremely nice and professional during the work. read more

If you can use someone else, use someone else. We went through the ringer with this company. If they had fixed our leak on the first visit we wouldn't have any issues. But the first technician out left while our faucet was STILL leaking. We were charged for a new basket strainer but to my eye nothing in the sink looks new. So I'm very concerned if that was just a bogus charge. It took another 6 weeks of back and forth with my home warranty and SWAT trying to set up a return visit. 6 weeks of phone calls, voicemails, asking for a call back. So many excuses I started to think they were intentionally leading me on. Finally a second tech came out and fixed the leak in 20 mins. Eddie did a great job, but the entire process with swat was a daily head ache for months. We will absolutely never used them again. read more

I've used SWAT now 3 times. I've been in my 25 year old home now a year and half and all my issues seem to have been plumbing so far. I always request Carlos because I developed trust with his skills, his professionalism and kindness. This latest issue when I scheduled service, SWAT sent out Rhett and he was able to quickly diagnose that my irrigation valve was old, broken and needed replacing and explained to me about the city permits will work. Rhett was very knowledgeable, also very kind and professional and was quickly immersed in this larger scale job with the valve permit, and how he tested everything after he was finished to double check nothing else in my plumbing system was broken (Carlos did this as well). It poured rain this morning while he was outside working but that didn't slow him down. I will keep on using SWAT based on these two professional and licensed plumbers who are not just there to put a bandaid on an issue but really are thorough and do things right. I highly recommend both Carlos and Rhett and applaud SWAT on the talent and skill levels of the plumbers they hire. read more

We had SWAT come out due to a hot water heater going out. The plumber told us if the home warranty wasn't going to cover the replacement, they would charge us $1,000 to replace it if we purchased the new hot water heater. Then we are told, great news the home warranty is going to cover it. I get call while I am driving with loud kids in the car to pay the out of pocket amount. I heard $140 out of pocket for code updates. After the hot water heater is installed and I am signing that the job was done, I see an amount for $1400! Our home warranty buys the hot water heater, it is sent to us, then also pays for the installation and up to $250 for code updates. I called and said I never would have agreed to pay $1,400 had I realized that was the price when I was quoted less to pay for everything myself. I was then told that the $1400 was for code updates so I asked for an itemized bill since that seemed outrageous, in which they said they couldn't provide one. The code updates were a plastic pan was installed under the hot water heater with a water sensor. I have called and emailed requesting an itemized bill since the total charge to and paid by the home warranty for the installation was only $700. I have asked multiple times how my out of pocket is $400 more than if I paid for everything myself without the home warranty. I want to know how they came up with $1400 out of pocket for code updates and they refuse to respond or show me how it came to $1400! They have admitted my only responsibility is for code updates, but yet can't tell me how they came up with the amount they charged me. I will be reporting them to BBB and to the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. I would NOT recommend this company! read more

On May 13, 2024, I received a message from my neighbor, in the condominium next door, that he had to shut my water off because water was coming into his garage from my side. I immediately called my home warranty company to have a technician come out to check my hot water heater. I was assigned a technician from SWAT on 5/14 and was able to make an appointment with SWAT for 5/20. I was given a 12-hour window but was told I would get a call from the technician when he was heading to the job before me so I would have a smaller window. Ruben called and advised that he was at the property waiting on me. I advised him I would head that way and be there as soon as possible, but I was expecting a call prior as advised; he said, "I don't know what to tell you." When I arrived, he had taken pictures of the water shut off (he confirmed it was shut off) and said he just needed to look at the water heater. I opened the garage door, and he took a few pictures and videos. After 10-15 mins, he said that we needed a new one and he would report his findings. He never touched a tool or manipulated anything except ripping the insulation off part of the water heater. He told me I would hear back within 48 hrs. After about 4 or 5 days I called my home warranty and they advised that they had not received anything from SWAT. A week after Ruben's visit, we received the information; I was told that he had gone on vacation and forgot to turn in his report. We received the quote for work on 5/29. A few days of back and forth asking to get a second opinion with the home warranty. The quote was accepted 6/3. The quote stated it was valid until 6/12; when I called the office to accept it, they told me it was already closed out and would need to reopen it. A continuation of SWAT's miscommunication. My appointment was finally made for 6/10, a week after the quote was accepted and 3 weeks after my initial visit. I called the office to see about getting a smaller window so I could ensure I was there. After many calls to the office and being told they were 30 mins out, the technicians arrived, in an unmarked van, multiple hours after the time window I was given. He apologized and told me the office sent him to another job and he needed to go pick up another hot water heater, from the warehouse, 45 mins away. I overheard one of the guys say to the other that he could not tell if the water was off or not because water was still dripping from the water heater. After confirming the water was off, they made the discovery that there had been a constant drip and now black mold was growing. I asked how long they thought it had been growing and he said he would guesstimate 2 or 3 weeks - the mold started growing while we were awaiting their technician, who went on vacation without turning in the work. No responsibility was taken by SWAT. They advised me that they would not be able to put a new water heater in until the mold was removed but great news SWAT has a mold mitigation department. I called and they said they could come out the next day, 6/11. Again, I lost half a day waiting; they arrived and took pictures of the affected area. No work was done...On 6/13 they were supposed to mitigate the mold (cut out and clean) however after waiting half the day it turns out they made MY appointment but put someone else's address. So, they never made it to me. They also never called me to let me know the mistake was made. It was not until I called the 3rd or 4th time that I was told about the mistake after previously being told he was heading my way. I was told the demo & restoration would need to be rescheduled and it will be a 2-day process.They finally came out to demo on 6/24. The technicians on every previous visit took the payment prior to completing the work. I tried to pay the demo cost and the technician advised me that he does not take payment, but they would not start until the cost was paid. So, I called the office and was told, in a snarky tone, that "of course the technician isn't going to take the payment!" How would I know that when EVERY OTHER TECH HAS!?!? She got a big attitude on the phone while taking my payment. They came back to finish the work on 6/28. The restoration quote left off the piece of wood the water heater is supposed to sit on; they took care of the cost instead of changing my quote. At this point, the water is still off. The new water heater was finally installed on JULY 10th! We mentioned that the water had been off since May 13, and they told us that the water could have been turned on back in June when the old water heater was taken out because they looped the line; we just would not have had hot water - that was NEVER communicated. read more

Swat plumbing was fast and on time. That is the only thing good about this. The service tech only spent a few minutes at our property attempting to diag a leak. Without using any tools to verify what he thought was freeze damage on an outside wall hose bib was actually not the problem. He closed case with home warranty company since they don't cover freeze damage. After two calls to Swat asking to talk to a manager or supervisor no call returned. Had a second opinion company come out and verified what Swat said was leaking actually turned out not to be leaking. Unprofessional tech, management and company. Would never contact them again for anything. read more

Had to go through this company because of my home warranty. My main line was leaking and they wanted $1500 to dig a 2' x 2' x 2' hole that my home warranty wouldn't cover cause there was grass on it and then charge my home warranty company for the repairs. I called another plumbing company I have dealt with I. The past and they did the whole thing for $780 including digging, fixing, permit and filling back up.
