Special mention for Matthew and his apprentice Mike were cool and did a great job. Overall, my experience with this company was very stressful and frustrating. I was given this company by my home warranty OneGuard, who I'm also very disappointed. They sent a gentleman named Reuben from SWAT to diagnose the issue. Reuben might have been a master plumber with skills and knowledge that are unparalleled, but I would've never known by how horribly he treated us as customers from the beginning. He stood at the garage door as it opened and proceeded towards the water heater as I tried to greet him. His body language gave off that he was in a rush and I was in his way. He looked at my water heater and asked me "do you have a stool?" Now I'm not a professional plumber, but I thought that was a bit unprofessional. No worries, he just proceeded to stand on the base that the water heater was sitting on while holding himself up by one of its pipes. THAT I knew wasn't right. He could've caused further damage to an already damaged water heater. He stepped down and attempted to relight the heater. Two minutes later he exclaims "yup, this one is no good. You need a new one". He proceeded to tell me that it'd cost me like 500, the warranty wouldn't cover everything, it'd take another 7-10 days, and it's an outsourced job-he just diagnoses the issue. He was very frank and I'm cool with that, however I was not cool with how he talked down to my realtor. She was asking about the payment and he showed no patience at all. He'd continue to cut her offend over talk her. That made me decide to call my home warranty company and ask for another contractor, however I was stuck with SWAT. I spoke to a manager (Keith) who said he'd speak with Reuben and that he'd come and install my heater himself today. That made me feel a bit better to have a senior professional come do the job. Reuben's hanging from the water heater had me concerned about the job being down thoroughly. Keith did not show today, however, Matthew and his apprentice Mike did. They were great. They welcomed any question and were cool about me watching. They even showed me a couple things about the heater to look out for. Overall my experience was a 3 of 5 because I felt this company dropped the ball on customer service, professionalism, and on opportunities to make it right. However, they did install the water heater after a a week or so and it looks and works good so far. Again, Matthew and Mike were cool. read more

we got their service through our home warranty company for water tankless heater. technician came and asked us to perform a maintenance and problem will be fixed. maintenance was not covered by the home warranty, we eneded up paying to to home warranty, maintenance coverage which is not covered and issue is still there.. they should not have charged us the maintenance $649. SWAT PLUMBING IS THE WORST. 100% Awful. Shoddy workmanship and lousy communication. They came out to install a new faucet. The plumber they sent, Carlos, some how managed to drench the bathroom in water. Soaked linen shower curtain, soaked towel, Soaked toothbrushes (Gross!) and soaked toilet paper holder with 4 rolls. He installed the faucet without the mechanism that allows the drain to go up or down. He also didn't even bother cleaning up the sink after taking out the old one, he installed the new one on top of the residual plumbers putty bits from the previous faucet. And instead of being an adult and asking for a bunch of towels to clean up the mess he made... he left. We thought he was going out to his truck to get something but no. He left. So I was left with a soaking wet bathroom and a partially put in faucet. I called and told the customer service person the issue. Their customer service is very friendly. So they scheduled another person to come out (Breandon) and complete the project. He showed up and declared he needed a second person to complete the job and left. That was it. So, at this point it has been a week First tech on a Monday, the second on a Friday evening, Saturday I call and leave a message trying to get some information on why can't this get completed. Sunday I get a text out of nowhere saying the tech will be there at 7 am Monday. Mind you I have not scheduled anything with SWAT. Monday total no show. Still without a completed project. Not calling these people again, and I would suggest you avoid at all costs. read more

This company is a total scam! AVOID at all costs. I had an issue with my hot water heater and called the manufacturer who informed me that the fan had gone bad. I was assigned SWAT via my home warranty and relayed the information from the manufacturer. They came out and told me that the fan wasn't the issue but needed simple cleaning. They were here for ~5mins and said they fixed the issue. They recommended that I would need to install a $10K water filtration system due to calcium deposits. The error code was back on the next day. I called to have them come back out and insisted that the manufacturer said that as long as the fan is replaced, the issue would be resolved. They told the home warranty that it's not working due to the need for a water filtration system and the warranty denied the claim. It's obvious that SWAT thinks I'm a sucker and rather than doing the right thing, and completing the work honestly, they knew that they could get more money directly from me if I simply accepted their bogus diagnosis! We pay for home warranties for this very reason and if they don't want to work with a HW because they don't get as much money. Then they shouldn't have the partnership. It's one thing if they want to try and upsell additional products, but it's another to be completely dishonest with their underhanded business practices. The manager was totally useless and just doubled down on the lies that the technician spewed. I'm also filing a BBB complaint! read more

At this time I'm certain I would not use this company again. It took 4 days for them to get out to me, to even review the situation! I called and left a message asking for a return call to schedule an appointment and had to call twice more before they would set an appointment. The plumber that came was nice enough but I now know his work was subpar. Very poor service and workmanship. I had another plumber out within 2 days, who used a camera to confirm main sewage line breaks - there were 2. Their plumber did not do this and he did not fully unclog the pipes, as he should have. I saw pictures and I know his work was shoddy and not thorough. Once he deducted what the problem was (again not confirming the location of the issue) he was aggressive & pushy, attempting to get me to pay half of his bid estimate of $5800 right then, stating they would not be able to do any work until I gave him that. When I stated no and that I needed him to fix the clog to start with, he said he would fix that but couldn't guarantee it wouldn't clog back up again in a day or two ... well of course it will - if you don't actually clear it out! SWAT has a terrible scheduling dispatching department. I found this agency through a home insurance company. The technician was not able to make repairs and submitted requests for replacement. It took me sending them a message two weeks later to remind them of the repair waiting for them to return and complete. Their dispatching team finally called to make the appointment with a SIX HOUR window. On the day of the appointment the technician never showed, and didn't have the supplies to make the repairs during the six hour window. On top of that, we didn't find out until almost an hour after the scheduled window. Dispatching never called to inform plumber was not going to show. They made sure they went home on time while my husband and I waited for them for eight hours. Is this the best response and consideration of time this company has after payment is received? read more

I called on a Thursday afternoon (to my home warranty company) about my water heater not working. They got me in touch with Swat Plumbing and the next day we made an appointment for the following week. There was a part that needed to be replaced, and it took them 3 days to get the part (a gas valve). While installing the part, it broke. It took another week to get another part out and my hot water heater still did not work for more than an hour. Two weeks AFTER the initial call, I was told I would need a new hot water heater and that they would be there "first thing next week to do the job." They came on Monday, installed a new hot water heater and THEN informed me of the nearly $800 I owed them. One of the items was a drain pan, which was nearly $100. The gentleman worked with me and gave me $200 off of the cost, the installers left and an hour or two later, again: no hot water. They tried fixing this new one, which was a Bradford white (great reputation for being a good water heater). I climbed into the attic to relight the pilot and the igniter wouldn't light and I noticed my OLD drain pan was still in place. I was furious. It took another week of trying to fix the new one to no avail. Finally, 3 weeks and a day after the original call to SWAT plumbing, I had hot water after they installed a 2nd NEW unit and a new drain pan, which I was told I had paid for the week prior. Neither Swat plumbing nor my home warranty company gave me any notice that I would have any financial responsibility beyond my $100 deductible which I paid to the warranty company. Here are the photos of the install of the FIRST new one that they installed. I have consistently requested an invoice from them to no avail. I'm thinking that if I disputed the charge on my cc, perhaps I will finally get their attention on that invoice they're hiding from me!!! Notice the dangling pilot ingnition switch and the OLD/dirty drain pan I was charged for. I will have the inspector check closely when they come to be sure everything listed on the invoice is in place as it should be and that there are no additional or outrageous charges IF I have an invoice by then!!! read more

The experience with Ruben G from SWAT plumbing was an absolute nightmare! Ruben completely disregarded the information I provided when he arrived at my home. He used a router tool in an attempt to clean a drain connected to a sister sink and rammed through the pipe on the other side. All the water poured out from the now broken pipe into the master bath, through the floor, staining the ceiling of the room below and partially flooding our den where a 4, 8 and 12 year old were sitting watching TV. He fixed the pipe but had an attitude of indifference for the chaos he created through his ignorance. I will never use SWAT Plumbing again. He offered a free home restoration service to come in to use fans and dry the flooded areas. I never heard from the restoration service and Swat never returned my call regarding resolution to this matter. Customers Be Warned!!!! read more

The second time they moved our appointment, it was to fit someone else's appointment in. With our house on the market, we had a very specific window that we were clear with them about we needed the service done. Though they were apparently willing to work with their other client on availability, they had no flexibility with us and wanted to move our appointment with no flexibility to our schedule. Not sure how qualified these guys are considering I saw them working on my neighbor's house yesterday only to wake up this morning with our water shut off. The ironic thing is I asked my husband yesterday why the SWAT plumbing guy was near our water shut off and my husband said that since it was near the street you typically share it with 1 or 2 other houses, but that it is very obvious which water shut off belongs to which house. I chastised my husband for not telling me this in case I ever need to shut off the water, and his exact response was "I didn't tell you because it is literally idiot proof." So I've left a review previously on this company and decided to update. SWAT came back to our home on a recall. They looked at the leak from the HOT water reroute they did over a year ago, that burst and flooded on Christmas Eve. Now they are saying we need a reroute of that area (which they rerouted over a year ago). I had a different plumber come out and he informed us that SWAT TAPPED INTO AN EXITING PVC pipe that was NOT the grade needed for hot water ( CPVC). The piece they installed melted! Now why would the not replace it a year ago when doing the reroute? And they send an update to the home warranty company saying it was due to weather which is NOT TRUE. It was not freezing on Christmas Eve. This company is dishonest and does not follow through with faulty work done by their employees. This is the second time their work has flooded this area of my home. Now I have to have all new floors and thy still did not fix their mistake. read more

I have American Home Shield and the first company that came out wanted to charge me over 500 to clear a slow drain in master bathroom. I requested a second opinion from AHS and SWAT was the plumbing company assigned. Tommy was the plumber from SWAT and he was very thorough and he explained exactly what he was doing and went the extra mile by crawling in my attic to find the drainage hold to clean out vs. the other company that didn't even try to go in the attic. I'm not being nit picky, but they over charge their customers. $85 for pipe insulation!?! That's a $2 part that literally takes 5-10 seconds to install. $125 for a $20 drip pan!!! And to add insult to injury they said I needed a special "slim" heater because my old one wouldn't fit through the full size attic door. The door has a 23" clearance. The standard water heater is 21". After all their mandatory upgrades the bill was $2k! For a $300 water heater! In short, I called a reputable company and they charged $650. read more

My hot water heater stopped working. The home warranty company I recieved upon purchase of a new home called SWAT plumbing to fix my water heater. The SWAT plumber came to my house and replaced the thermostat. He told my wife the water heater need to be replaced. He set the thermostat to 180 degrees and left. Luckiky, the water contimued to drain thru the relief pressure valve. He did not reset the valve during his visit. I called home depot to replace the water heater. I did not use swat because they wanted 1550 to replace the current water heater. The home depot plumber adjusted the temperature to a normal water heater setting and re set the relief pressure valve. The water heater works fine. Apparantly the only fix needed was the new thermostat. Surprised and disappointed SWAT plumbing trie to swindle me. read more

What a joke. All the bad reviews are spot on! Plumber comes out the first night and cuts out my sheet rock in the ceiling without putting anything down to cover my furniture. He leaves without cleaning up his mess. Comes back 4 days later to fix what he couldn't fix the first night. Says 5 words to me in the beginning of the night then disappears after he "fixed the pipe". Never walked me through what he did or to show me that it is fixed. Still didn't clean up his mess from the last time. Oh yeah./.. they give your info to a restoration company to call you before they come to see if you have water damaged to be cleaned up. The first night they tried to schedule an appointment between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM, but never arrived and ended up canceling on a phone call around 7:30 PM. I don't review much but I called out Swat Plumbing to make a very basic repair to a leaking pipe that is very easy to access. Would have needed $10 part and 10 minutes to replace. They quoted me $450 and wanted me to prepay so they could come out the next day (in an 11 hour window). The tech said he couldn't do it the same day he was there because he didn't have the part (a single 3/4" nut) despite driving a large service van that I can only assume was for parts. Michael initially walks in with a phone on hold in his pocket playing hold music. Had no tools or way to diagnose anything, other than a smashed up iPad. He actually held his keys in his hand the whole time showing us he had no intention of staying long or repairing. His vehicle blocked our driveway so my son couldn't even get out for school. Michael checked 2 faucets only, then looked at heater. Literally though a home sprinkler system was a tankless water heater. WOW!!!!! Complaint was: getting luke warm water vs cold out of each faucet. Literally interchanges warms warm and luke warm. His findings after 4 minutes: I feel hot water and then when i change to cold, it puts out warm. But good news is it doesn't get any hotter. I agree it doesn't get cold, but it doesn't get hotter! It's not normal, but your warranty won't fix this. They fix it if you basically don't get water at all. That's it. When he left, I proceeded to contact a company who told me to feel the intake at the water heaters. I did. They were very warm which told the technician on the phone that we have a convection issue, where there is a failure in the heat trap. Hot water is rising into the intake pipe going to cold water outlets. I had mentioned this to Michael, who ignored the question and kept going back to "it's not heating the water any more as I let it run". When asked why this would happen, he proceeded to walk out the door and stand in driveway talking while walking to vehicle. Resident faucet specialist? If that's their "specialist", god forbid who you might get. DON'T CALL THEM. USELESS WASTE OF MY TIME WATING FOR THEM TO COME. read more
