Our gas company company did riveted a small gas leak while changing out our meter and SWAT plumbing was sent out through our home warranty. They were suppose to show up between 8-12, but Ruben didn't show up until after 1pm. He looked in our attic for a few minutes banged around by our meter and then said the whole main line needs to be replaced and that he had called it in to our home warranty. When questioning this, he told me it was a major gas leak and he would not be able to find the leak since it could be anywhere inside our walls. I asked more questions and was told to call the office for clarification. He took off and never came back. We called the office and was told they couldn't get a hold of him either, but he would call. We never heard back from anyone at SWAT, but our home warranty called and said it would be $3700 for a new main line. We knew there was no way this was right and called another company out. They quickly located and fixed a minor leak (not in our mainline). I would stay clear of SWAT if you have a gas leak. read more

Do NOT use SWAT for any plumbing issues!!! We have a home warranty that provided someone from SWAT to replace the seal that had become rotten over a 17 year period. As soon as the plumber came in he called the home warranty company to see if it was going to be covered. He then gave us an estimated cost of $669!!!! BUT, he said he would waive the $69 service fee from the job. He was immediately asked to leave. We called another plumber. The total cost for parts were $17. The job was completed in under 20 minutes and the toilet is working just as it was before. read more

Was required to use these guys through a home warranty I had purchased. They accurately assessed the problem, but it went down hill from there. If you like folks that overcharge for services, don't inform you of how payment will be made and then require payment at time of scheduling rather than after services are completed, you should by all means use these guys. I prefer to use people that are upfront with everything rather than acting shady. I got the exact same product and service from two other plumbers for 35% less than what SWAT wanted to charge. The pilot light would not light in my water heater. Made and appointment and scheduled someone to come out the Friday before a 3 day weekend. All was good until SWAT called and said they had other emergency calls and had to reschedule for the following Wednesday. I am sympathetic to emergencies but I had been without hot water for two days and they wanted me to wait 5 More. Poor....poor.....poor...customer service. read more

If I could submit a review with no stars I would with this company! I would not refer ANYONE to this company. This company is VERY unprofessional and makes all kind of excuses of why the didn't / can't make their appointments. I was told an after hours service call would cost an extra $200 and that they did not receive the "expedited" service request (that was sent twice) to them and that I would have to call my my home warranty company and get a service order number. Long story short I called got the number and tried to call the owner back to give him the requested dispatch number and got no answer. Left a voicemail to call us back it was urgent we get someone out to our home because the hot water heater valve broke and a portion of our home flooded. Waited most of the night to hear from someone..NEVER happened. So needless to say I got a call this morning stating they got the request and could be out later today. I then ask what happened to you coming out last night? The girl I was speaking with stated she was there in the office when they got the first call and it was after 5 when we called and I proceeded to tell her we called back with the dispatch number that we were told to get and call back with so that someone or anyone for that matter could come out to look at our hot water heater and she stated that she was not saying I was lying but she was there when we called and they didn't have the dispatch number but they had an "expedited" order now and and said they could get someone out sometime today. By this time I was furious and told them to cancel I would go through my home owners insurance for a plumber to come look at my hot water heater. I then called my warranty company and told them to cancel the work order request and what had transpired with Swat Plumbing. And even though I had just told Swat to forget it and cancel the order, they called me again to confirm my appointment while I was on the phone with my warranty company. Are u serious. Apparently the don't listen either and I gave the girl a piece of my mind. My family needed Swat last night and due to their excuses of why they could not come, me and my family and pets had to go waterless last night. Worst company ever!! Took three trips. Second trip was strictly due to employee screw up. Third trip he fixed two issues. The HUGE WATER LEAK IN OUR FLOOR he proceeded to argue and tell us the chimney leaked. Mind you theres been no rain but his reaponse to that... insulation held it and suddenly let 20 gallons leak into the other rooms. His second solution was that out kids filled the tub And left it so the overflow leaked 20 gallons into our downstairs. Refused to look further. My home warranty company asked them to come and give her a valuation on my water heater they told them that you as my water heater was leaking and yes it needed to be replaced however that there needed to be $750 more of bringing this unit up to code and that would be what I would have to pay. I checked with all the codes there are no codes for what he was saying and I finally got him to admit that no it's no codes at all it's just their Request. However he lied to me and he lied to the home warranty company and asked Soum that they have use the same trick on others regarding home warranty repair work that they might've been assigned to. They call the additional work that needed to be done is codes by state or city when they are lying and it's just they want to make more money. Just used swat plumbing services this evening and would highly recommend others, don't use their services. It was a Friday evening and when I spoke with the receptionist at first she quoted $39.99 to come out and inspect my water heater. Once she spoke with the technician he changed the price to $225 just for an inspection. Junior, the technician, came to the house and found that it was the pilot light that was blown out. He said that a couple years ago the codes changed and my water heat is now not up to code and that it needs to be replaced quoting me $1800. I am selling my house and had a realtor come out to my house last week and told me my water heater WAS up to code. Junior and this company is a total SCAM. Charged me $225 to light my pilot light. We were referred to SWAT by our home warranty insurance after another plumbing company could not offer the hydrojetting that they recommended. SWAT required they come out and do their own diagnostic which makes sense. The insurance company approved them to run a cable to determine if the kitchen sink drain was stopped up. They ran the cable and told me it was clear and the sink was draining well. Within a week the sink was backing up again so this was reported and they sent someone out again. He said since it was backing up again it would need to be hydrojetted. They would have to set up another appointment to get it done as he didnt have the equipment. So a plumber came out a third time, did the hydrojetting and cleared the line. It took 3 appointments to fix the problem and 3 separate occasions I had to wait for them to come. They were late 2 out of 3 times, but the office called to let me know they were running late. Fortunately, I only had to pay the $69 fee my home warranty requires one time. It all could have been done more efficiently, but the outcome was good and I am satisfied. read more

This company was dispatched repeatedly by one guard despite the fact they kept screwing up (would tell me I had a 3-7 time frame and then would call to confirm my 11-3 time frame). Not sure why one guard would continue to send the same company out that can't get their scheduling right. I asked for "last appt of the day" since I live in Carrollton and work in Dallas. They called to say he was on his way at 2:30pm which then I had to leave early/ rush home from work. Then the guy shows up and doesn't think one of my toilets has any issues wreaked of smoke. Not impressed. Asked one guard to mark this company as a "never again" for me. **Of note, there was still issues with the toilet and they had to send someone else out and I had to go through all of this a second time! It looks like someone is going though and writing the same, horrible customer service response to each of us on here that gave a 1* review. They wrote below that they waited at my house? No one was at my house before I was. But, you also put that same comment on Suzanne's review. If it isn't working for any of your customers, you should think of changing rather than sticking to your ways that don't work! Previously, for this house, I have had two visit from Atmos Energy, the company that provide gas to the house, and they provided report indicating "possible leak" . I received the email and text from SWAT indicating that their technician , Mr Chris, is on his way to the property at 12/21/2017 11:10 AM. It took more than an hour before Chris shown up. Still it is fair since the traffic at this time of the year is heavy. After explaining to Mr Chris the history of what we have seen/heard for past several days, He prepared the contract and explained that there will be extra cost that I have the choice to sign the contract, at $875, or call another plumbing company to come and fix the leak. I did sign the contract. Chris was very polite and professional, my complement. It should be about 45 minutes to an hour that I received phone call from Chris indicating that there has been any leak found. I was at the house about 5 minutes later. I asked Chris to call the office and ask if the fee could be reduced. It was reduce to $425. I mentioned that I don't think it is fair but to not keep him from his next appointment, I signed the paper and mentioned that I will contact his manage indicating my disagreement for the amount I was charged. I understand that SWAT time is their money but I strongly believe that their practice was very unfair. I sent an email to SWAT and have not seen any response yet. The email was send on December 22nd to Mr. Dillon Paterson, I assume the owner of the company. In the email I mentioned my objection to the charge and asked for a discount to make the service charge fair. Later on I found out that my credit card was charged for $450 instead of $425. I have already disputed the extra charge. Amazing how SWAT is so creative to rip you off. If you do have enough money to burn then SWAT is the company. Otherwise it maybe better to stay away from this company. There are tones of other good companies in town with much better rating. read more

SWAT plumbing put in our hot water heater back in 2016 (which went through our One Guard Home Warranty). This water heater has a unit consisting of a 4 AA battery pack unit - which you have to replace these batteries every 6 months or so and if you don't you will not have any hot water. Never heard of such a unit but you get what the home warranty pays for. It seems every year since have to call to get them to come out and fix it and of course it goes out of hot water during the coldest winter months and on a weekend (and its not the batteries). They are closed and you have to wait until Monday to double check to see if they got the request from home warranty. Again this weekend it went out and again I waited until almost 9 am for a call which never got & I called them. They told me the earliest appt would be 4 days later. Are you kidding me? Wait 4 days for hot water in the middle of winter & being senior citizens? What are you suppose to do in the meantime, go back to boiling water like in the old days? No way, finally the girl put me on hold and after a few minutes came back & said "someone would be out the next day". This is terrible service but you are stuck if you have home warranty. At the end of the phone conversation she had the nerve to say "have a nice day". read more

The guy that came, supposedly snaked the drain for a minute or so and then went out back. He came back in and was like " if it doesn't work, then you'll have to call us again and have us put in a laundry clean out unit for $800". I attempted to get him to return to the laundry room to see if what he did had worked or not so we could talk about further work, but he just kept trying to get me to sign his tablet saying he had been there so he could leave. Refused to really talk about the drain. Of course as soon as he leaves, I check the drain, and no difference. Complete waste of time. One Guard warranty has sent Swat out to several rentals I manage and own. 1st off Swat accepts all warranty requests, but rarely can make it out with 7 days and does a 5-6 hour window. 2nd They came twice to one property that had a sewer drain issue. They said they would have to use a camera to located the issue. 274.00 later they gave us the location of the issue and wanted 2800.00 for repairs. Jamco only wanted 1200.00. The camera work was a waste of money, there bid gave a location of the obstruction, belly or damaged line. They were NOWHERE close to the problem. Dont trust them with a tankless water heater either, 7 times and never figured out the issue, blamed the problem on an electrical outlet. It was a bad circuit board.They have yet in over a year to solve 1 problem at several properties. They are a proven rip off, no fake news here. read more

Swat Plumbing was called by my home Warranty ( one Guard) to help me with a simple faucets leaking. After waiting for hours he showed up in his fancy Van with a lot of tools. My issue was as simple as 2 leaking faucets and a shower head. He goes to his fancy Van to bring more tools, then he goes back again to his fancy Van to bring even more tools. According to him the shower head wasn't leaking but I showed him that it was and he was like ( oh yeah, it's leaking ) Supposedly he fixed it, still leaking. For the faucets, he needed to bring a camera to take pics to show his boss and fix it the next day. That was 2 weeks ago. Never came back or called. Thankfully we have OneGuard so after our one time payment repairs were covered. Their system could be better planned out. I think a 6 hour window is a bit much! Yes, 6 hour! My time frame was from 1-7pm! Also they don't let you know the time frame unto the evening before. Luckily my schedule is somewhat flexible. Despite the office and dispatch dealings the technicians they send out appear to be knowledgeable. Phillip did an excellent job. My issues was resolved. My appointment time was from 8:30-11:30, he didn't show up last minute! Which is always the case when dealing with technicians. DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBING COMPANY. Definitely don't pay cash if you do. SWAT sent a rep Shawn via American Home Shield to fix an issue. The issue was fixed and Shawn was actually pretty nice, however when I requested service from AHS for something else, my account had a $100.00 balance? Apparently, the repairman took the $100 cash and turned in a separate invoice stating I still owed. Lucky for me I still had the invoice receipt. I called and spoke with a secretary or dispatch Danielle (who was terribly rude) at SWAT and she was immediately confrontational. After sending her a copy of the invoice she acknowledged what I was saying was true, but did not apologize. She instead hung up on me. Not sure who is running the show over there, but I look forward to speaking with them. I have asked AHS to suspend or eliminate SWAT from their portfolio. I should actually call the police or the real SWAT to pay them a visit for theft. read more

I had a really bad experience with SWAT Plumbing and DO NOT RECOMMEND working with them ever. Everything starting from identifying and fixing the issue to customer service was simply terrible and the whole experience was extremely stressful. First of all, they deceived me and offered a very expensive repair for the gas leak outside the house replacing the whole pipe system and upgrading all my appliances claiming that it was a City requirement, which is wasn't, so basically they just wanted to charge me as much as possible. Second, while repairing my system they actually damaged the new pipe they just installed, so the gas leak was still happening, and they told me what I also had a leak inside the house, and it has to be repaired also, and only diagnostic would cost me around $900. I had no leak inside, so that was a bad judgment call or they did it on purpose to make more money. Finally, they included extra charges to my final invoice without any explanation and charged extra to my credit card without my permission. All my attempts to resolve it with their customer service were unsuccessful, so I had to dispute the charges with my credit card institution and write this review. The guys did a good job, but it's unacceptable that a week after completion of the job and payment in full, and they still haven't made it back out to back fill the giant hole that is running under our house. We've called to see if they were going to send someone out around 12 today, and still no call back. We did get a call from a woman asking us for our final payment, six days after we had already paid. We asked her about sending the guys out to fill it, and she said she'd get back to us.....she never did, so that's why we called them today. I guess they only call when they want money and not to ensure their customers are left happy. I feel like this company really missed the mark on the customer service end of things.....and the finial completion (filling the hole) of the job we paid for. We'll rethink using them again. This company was sent through my American Home Shield warranty. He took pictures and called American home shield him told him the water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. I agree with that. HOWEVER, he begins to tell the warranty company that I needed upgrades according to codes on my water heater and that it had to be done and it would cost to the homeowner additional $750. The swat person again to told me that all the things on the water heater needed to be replaced because of code I asked him which code he said well state and I said I've never heard of a state having that kind of a coat or no I meant city codes. I said well I don't believe the city has code requirement that no no you're right it's just an hour reason that we do it no matter what when we put in new ones whether it's needed or not. Home built five years ago pipes are the kind that grew into the tank. All the attachments were perfect and he even told they had to replace the foam that is around the two small pipes probably 1 foot to foot mean 4 foot long total for both he wanted $85 when there was nothing wrong with, what was up there he was going to replace the little foam for $85. This company lied to the warranty company and lied to me however I was able to get the truth out of him and I asked him to leave my property. I called American Home Shield and explain to them that what he told them and they knew bad cold that it was cold but it was a lie yeah they would not do anything to them and only thing they would do is maybe give me a cash out for $410. I would not even recommend this SWAT plumbing for anything they are liars and if someone didn't know really about codes then they are really ripping off individuals without them knowing it and as for Home Shield I am very disappointed after being with them for 20 years that they would allow this to happen. read more

Disclaimer: we submitted a service request through our home warranty and the job was contracted out to this plumbing company. We requested service because we had brown water intermittently coming from the faucet in our spa tub. As soon as I mentioned I was concerned that it was the water heater (as someone with no plumbing experience or knowledge.. just my google search) he was completely uninterested in figuring out the problem. He quickly told me it was not covered under warranty but also stated he didn't think it was the problem. The extent of his work was turning on the faucet and pouring some into a glass. Within one minute of being in the house he was on the phone with the warranty company to basically say "the owner says it's the water heater but the water is running out clear now so there's nothing here". I didn't even get to say it was happening intermittently and not every single time. It was obvious I was not the customer and pleasing me was not the priority, the warranty company was. I understand some things are not covered. Even so, this was an opportunity for him to showcase his company and show a homeowner why we should use this plumbing services outside of the warranty. I felt like He thought I was trying to pull one over on the warranty company to get a new water heater. I just wanted a spa tub I can use without the water looking like tea. Plumber was in and out of my house in under ten minutes.. would have been quicker if the warranty company he was on the phone with the whole time didn't have him on hold briefly. I do not suggest using this company if you are going through a home warranty. Hopefully their interest in investigating a problem is better if you call them directly. read more

Very disappointed in their communication and customer service. Plumbers are lazy and won't finish their job. This company was assigned per my home warranty company. I contacted them to set up an appointment as this was an emergency, the earliest they could come out was that following Tuesday. When they arrived the plumber Charles did not find the source of the leak but gave us a quote to what he thought the issue was, just in case that was an issue and we had a general idea of how much it would cost. He also let us know that he did not have the right equipment to find the actual source of the leak, but he would be back with the right equipment to finish the job. (I will also like to add that the restoration company that was present heard all of this as well and this is what he communicated to the home warranty company). He also said that he would have someone email me the quote and information on when he would come back. All of this did not happen. Get this... they invoiced my home warranty company for a job they didn't even complete. I called constantly to get updates and information on what the status of this issue was and every time I would get different answers from Linda. The issue started the beginning of February and it wasn't until two weeks later that I actually got an email quote from Linda. (Which I might add is an opinion of what the problem was...Charles never came back to my house to actually figure out the source of the leak) However, Charles and/or Linda have now closed out my work order and won't have him go back to my house and finish the job... they want me to pay more money to open up another work order so they can go back and finish they job. Linda promised that she would reach out to the plumbing manager since she is not knowledgeable in what is going on and she can only see what the plumber filled out. I have yet to been contacted back. I have been talking to Linda everyday and get nothing resolved. I'm now left with a hole in my wall and ripped up carpet with no ETA of what the issue really is. Very disappointed and frustrated with their work ethic and communication, not at all expected from a company that would benefit in thousands of dollars from their client... if they just were to come back and actually find the source of the leak!!! How do they expect me to approve a job that they are not 100% about!? Also I called my home warranty company and they let me know that Mr. Charles sent them two different reports telling them that he came back and completed everything...which he didn't. They are out here scheming people. What a disappointment. So please, if you are thinking in contacting this company or if this is the company you're assigned to look elsewhere. I notified American Home Shield of our plumbing problem and they had SWAT in contact with us the next day. We had a clog in our master bath sink that drained slow. We were given a range of time that the technician would be by. Leinad was within that range and came in and worked the clog until he got it cleared. He cleaned up any mess he made. Thank you read more
