Dealing with Shannon at Swedes Real Estate was a waste of time. We reached out with a straightforward inquiry about a long-term beachfront rental, and instead of doing her job and actually helping, she told us to just "look on the website." When we followed up for clarification, her response was dismissive and basically boiled down to, "we don't have what you're looking for." That's not customer service, that's laziness. Shannon made zero effort to understand our needs, offer alternatives, or even pretend to care about earning business. Honestly, if this is the level of "help" she provides, I'd question why she's in real estate at all. Either she can't be bothered, or she simply isn't capable. RENTERS BEWARE - Recently rented a property off of VRBO that was managed by this group. Because the location was further down the beach from the rest of our group I had to cancel. On VRBO it states that you will receive 100% refund if cancelled before a specific date. I cancelled a day after I made the original reservation, and well before the May deadline. They kept almost $100 of our original deposit and will not give the full refund. I will never rent from this company again, and neither will the other 250+ members within our Jeep club. Absolutely disgusting way to take advantage of and steal from hardworking families just trying to enjoy a vacation with their friends. Note, they received 1 star because I couldn't give it ZERO! Edit after their response - attached is the only cancellation policy I saw, and to keep almost $100 for a booking that was cancelled less than a day later is a sh*t policy and not renter friendly regardless. The email I received after booking said they would keep a fee but it NEVER stated how much. Regardless, our Jeep club will never rent from this group, and if you do, just make sure you really want it, and don't mind paying extra for linens for the house, those aren't included either..... read more

We used VRBO to book a Swedes owned rental property on Crystal Beach. The property itself was nice, kitchen was fairly updated, and living room was comfortable. The linen company and policy in place sucks. They deliver linens to the property (for an additional fee) and leave them inside for you to distribute throughout the house and make your own bed. The comforters and throw pillows are already on the beds upon arrival, so you have to take off those, put on the sheets and pillowcases and then put the comforters and throw pillows back on. When we were making one of the beds at night, we noticed they had left a stained fitted sheet on from a previous renter. The stain had leaked through to the mattress cover, which was also gross. The dishwasher had not been emptied from the previous stay. To top off our stay, the patio entrance to the master bedroom didn't lock. The door didn't align properly so there was no way to lock that door from the inside or outside. When my husband discussed these issues and complaints with Swedes, there was no offer to compensate us. read more

Worst rental company ever! We rented two houses close together for a family reunion and other relatives also rented in same area so we could all be close together. We checked in to the bigger house with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths which was awesome inside, but AC was not working. A part had to be ordered and it would be Wednesday before they fixed it. The other house we rented was not in such good shape,but we were going to try and squeeze 7 more people in that house. Luckily Cobb had a house which was 10 minute drive and was smaller, but very nice house and top notch furnishings,etc. The bad thing was we had already moved all our suitcases in the first house and then Swedes did not even help us move our stuff to the new house or even check with to see how the new house was!!! The second house, A Wave from Everything, was nasty, pillows were stained, roach droppings in bathroom drawer, front door was disgusting, picnic table on front porch was falling apart. Kitchen had hardly any pots and pans and not even enough silverware for 14 people(which is how many the house could accommodate.) I also had to call to let Swedes know the water was not working in the shower and they said they would have to call the owner. The garage was unlocked so my brother was able to get it on. Never once did anyone from Swedes even call back. The next morning, we tried to wash a few towels and washer did not spin. They did get that fixed! The place did not even have a dust pan. I went to swedes to talk to the manager and told her about all the issues(we had also reported that one of the light switches in living room was broken and also burn in kitchen floor next to sink). I felt that I deserved some type of refund for all the issues we had and she was going to talk to the other manager and I have yet to hear back. I own a beach house in NC and my rental company would not even let me rent a house in that condition and I know the owners of the first house have insurance and were reimbursed for loss of rental income. I hope I do hear back from Swedes, but at this point I don't think so. Horrible and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Rented Crystal Key the weekend of March 26th for my Dads 78th birthday. The pics on the site looked awesome and actually the price wasn't too bad. When we arrived the trash in the kitchen was full, the grates in the kitchen sink had mold growing on them, the floors were dirty, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the BBQ pit was full of ashes, and nails sticking up in the deck seemed to be a safety hazard. We cleaned everything up and went and had a great weekend. A week later I am being billed for a dead bird in a box in the laundry room. WTH!! We didn't even go in the laundry room because Yep we paid extra for the Linen Service. Renter beware!! read more

I have used Swede's several times over a good number of years. In most of my transactions I was pleased. The last property that I rented had some major problems, though. A two story house and heat was not working in the downstairs. Also, water heater was out for most of the time. NO HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS, BATHS. They sent out someone to reset the water heater, but whatever had tripped happened again. After having to deal with problems for most of the time we were there, my nerves were shot and we decided to leave a day early. No refund. Property owner had already been paid. Also, no one from Swede's ever tried to contact me with any alternate arrangements or some way to compensate. What we had hoped to be a relaxing getaway turned out to be anything but. read more

When checking in the office staff was friendly and helpful. Arriving at our location Pirate's Cove, was not the cleanest. Gum on one of the bunks A/C filters had not been changed in months, they did send maintenance tech to clean, still did not cool effectively and certainly did not cool the loft areas at all, if you plan on someone sleeping in the lofts take FANS, better yet take lots of FANS !! Pots and Pans most disgusting and certainly not enough to prepare for large groups TV's not working and no remote controls, we did get these issues fixed when tech arrived to fix A/C unit Had to make all of the beds, then make sure all were unmade with linens and towels in a certain spot Shower downstairs not working so we could rinse off after the beach, called several times on this issue, no return call was told they would need to get with the home owner. Upstairs shower started leaking mid week into the 1/2 bath, we called about this as well NO return call on this issue at all. This home has several weak spots in the floor, needs lots of TLC and maintenance, with the price they charge it should be in prime shape, clean and no problems when a customer arrives. read more

We were very disappointed with the property. We stayed in "the sandbox". We have rented through Swedes for many years but will be going through someone different from now on. The rental was DIRTY! There were roaches and the floor hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. My husband walked around barefooted for only an hour or so and his feet were black. So if you're going to stay here bring slippers or flip flops to wear in the house. -NO WASHER OR DRYER (makes it difficult if you have to rent for a week... and you do with a beach house) -The pictures were very misleading. -Some of the furniture was not the same as in the pictures. -The television in the picture was not the same one. When we arrived we found a computer monitor that was rigged up to a rabbit ear antenna. There was also a DVD player that was not plugged up. I don't even know if it would plug into the computer monitor. -no Internet was provided... At every other rental we have had in the past there has always been Internet. These days this is a must especially when you have kids! thank God we brought our fire stick and a mobile Internet device just in case. PROS: Well... The appliances worked and the air was nice and cold. The neighborhood was fairly quiet. That's about all I can say. it's a step up from a hotel because you're actually getting a house and you can save on food because you have a kitchen and can make your own meals. If you were looking for a place to stay that's a walk from the beach that there just isn't much to it but gives you more room than a hotel... Then this is the place for you. If you want more comfort than that... I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

We rented Crystal Tide from Swedes and we were really excited. We have rented from them In the past (my family has but I guess management has certainly changed because standards have clearly declined). Walking up the boards are loose, the lawn isn't mowed (we booked in advance) it is covered in stickers. The house smells heavily of cigarettes, dogs, and mold. I mopped, I wiped down cabinets, walls, I bought candles from The Big Store, we bought incense when the candles failed, and glade sprayed--the house just stink unrelentingly. It seeped into our clothes. We had to rewatch even clothes we didn't wear when we got back home, it was a chore. The cabin was dirty, there was trash under the comforter. The kids beds have brown stains on the pillow cases for the comforters (we brought our own comforters and pillows but it is gross to see that they are not maintaining anything.) There wasn't toilet paper in the cabin, I left some for the next unfortunate booker, a courtesy that should have been extended by the rental company. The trash can had gelatinous fish under the bag, the washer had clots of hair and mold. The fridge is dirty too and has an odd smell to match the rest of the cabin. The couch doesn't stay together, and none of the living room remotes work, nor is wi-fi available. Swedes did not seem shocked to hear about any of this. I went in person to tell them of the issue. They did not offer to reimburse for any part of the filth that we had to endure. They really need to keep better maintenance on their properties, it is sad that they no longer have pride in what they do. read more

We have rented homes at CB for years. Swedes is our go-to company that we always go through and we are always happy with our vacation. I love that they have a linen package made fresh for each guest. That insures us that they are clean and sanitized., We used to travel abroad but with the way the world is right now, CB is our home away from home. I've rented from Swedes over the past fifteen years. Sadly, over time customer service has become non-existent. Three years ago I rented Four Palms and the owner was there with the intent to stay. She was unaware the cabin had been rented, so it was not ready for us. Swedes blamed her and did not apologize or give us a discount for the inconvenience. Two years ago I rented Sunkissed with the expectation that it was one king size bed with three queen sized beds. The other three beds are full sized, not queens! Again Swedes did not apologize nor did they offer us a discount for the discrepancy. Today I called and I asked for some assistance in finding a cabinet that would accommodate a disabled person IE a cabin with an elevator or a cargo lift. The person that answered the call seemed reluctant to help me and explained that a search would be time consuming and she wasn't sure when she would be able to give me that information. That was four hours ago. I called back and was put on hold for seven minutes before I hung up. Really!? read more

Most awesome experience with Swede's RE. Beachside home could not have been better. Had a blast. Of course, most the people using the beach were great, but as one would expect, there was also the usual trashy riff-raff who blare crappy music into the wee hours and who leave garbage. The 3rd time they called, I told them I would handle it. Now this year they black listed me and did not rent out my beach home, costing me money. I terminated my services. First of all, I never give anyone or anything five stars. That being said, my family has rented beach houses from Swedes Real Estate for over 30 years, and we love them. If there are ever any problems, they are johnny on the spot to fix it. We had an air conditioner stop around 6 PM one evening. It was after hours, there was nothing anyone could do. We were pretty miserable, but the repairman was there in the morning at 10 AM. We will never use another company. I would even use them to buy a beach house, if I ever win the lottery!! read more

Good customer service and reliable listings! My family and I have used this company for over 15 years. Every year we go back to crystal beach for a little holiday and we haven't had any big complaints. 2008 was the best, when we rented a house that was in the shape of a geodesic dome! Unfortunately that house, and most every other one we had stayed at, was destroyed in hurricane Ike. The house we stayed at this year was the same one we stayed at the year before, although it was much cleaner last year. I like this company but I wish they'd give even more details about what exactly is in the house (i.e. a large pot if you're planning on cooking spaghetti). The only complaints I really had this year was the cleanliness (there was trash and people's forgotten belongings in the closet, under the bed and under furniture...peeping out for my dog to find...). I also don't think the comforters have been washed in quite a while, so if I were you, I'd bring blankets/bedspreads. We'll be using these guys again next year, but will def stay in a different house (as now this house is on the second row since the first one got rebuilt)! read more

We had a house rented with them for a weekend. We were going to Port Bolivar for a wedding. Due to Coronavirus the wedding was postponed. It was a destination wedding, so everyone was coming from out of town, and had to make accommodations for all guests. We would be traveling with my 94 year old grandma, and my 6 months pregnant sister - so amid COVID-19, there was no way we'd be able to go even if the wedding weren't postponed. We contacted the group, and they refused to give us any kind of refund! Not even a portion! If we were just doing a last minute cancellation it would be different, but we cancelled weeks ahead of time and we're in the middle of a PANDEMIC! This is clearly extenuating circumstances that need to be accounted for, as the world has NEVER had a panic like this since 1918, and even then maybe. Very disappointed with this group, they'll swindle you if they have the chance. read more

Our family has been renting from Swede's since approximately 1996. We've always been pleased with our various beach house rentals. This time was no exception. We rented Sandy Blue Heaven in the Sandy Shores subdivision. Beautiful home in a great location...probably the best beach area we've ever had. I would have given it 5 stars except we weren't able to flush toilet paper. Swede's told us the plumbing couldn't take it after we arrived. In a one bathroom home, with 5 adults and 3 kids, this is highly inconvenient and gross. Never had that issue with any of our other rentals. Other than that, everything was wonderful. read more

To start off the Tiki Time Too property was nice. However this review is on how dirty the place was. When we first walked in it's smelled unclean and there was some sort of animal hair on the couch. In the corner of different places in the house there was balls of dirt/hair. Not to mention under the beds there were previous guest items left (ex, water bottle, sandals, socks, and a balled up dirty shirt). When it was time to put my sheets on the bed. The comforter that was on the master bedroom was filthy (hair all on the inside bottom of the comfort), then on the mattress protector small specs of black dirt. When I looked closer to examine there was a small worm-like bug moving on the bottom of the bed. Since it was late, I had to call the 24 hour triage number. Someone that managed the property did call me back with a few minutes. However, his response was that he could not accommodate our needs since it was 10:30 at night. They did don't accommodate our needs at all. Any families with our without kids DO NOT rent from this rental company! read more

Fabulous beach house ruined by horrific management. What a shame! The place was disgusting -- dirty underwear from previous guest in the bedroom; dishes put away in the cabinet with old food stuck on them; dead bugs in the coffee mugs; old food can lid still hanging off the electric can opener; remnants of old food in the fridge; dirty oven; built up crud on the cabinet doors and handles; food crumbs in the folds of the couch; so much filth caked on the blades of the ceiling fans that we didn't want to turn them on for fear it would be flung all over the living room. And, the HVAC didn't work the first day. But we were okay with all of that because the location is so great and (once we cleaned it and the HVAC was repaired) it's a really great house and we loved being there. The tipping point for us, however, was the staff of the property management office -- rude, aggressive, deceitful and just plain mean. We were there during the record breaking deep freeze in Texas. The power and water went out; it was 12 degrees and snowing. None of which was anyone's fault. However the Swedes staff did everything they could to make a bad situation so much worse. They gave us no instructions and never checked on us. There were no candles or flashlights. We left to stay in a hotel and did not hear from Swede's for three days. Then, on the day we were supposed to check out of the beach house they began harassing us with threatening texts to come get our belongings because we were in violation of the contract. Even though the pipes were busted and they had no other bookings anyway, they texted every twenty minutes or so screaming at us to get our stuff. When we called they hung up on us. They changed their deadline three times - making it earlier each time - even though we told them we were still looking for someplace else to be. We asked more than 20 times to speak with a person and they refused -- insisting on communicating only by text. When we met their deadline and left the place to settle nearby, the plumbers and maintenance people that were supposedly waiting for us to remove our clothes (for reasons no one could explain) never actually showed up. The staff lied to us repeatedly and took a nasty hostile attitude from the start. Luckily the rest of the community was pulling together and helping each other out in a crisis. read more

I have used Swede's for years and have never had a problem till this last rental. We rented Pompano Pardise. This house needs a lot of work on it. Microwave, TV in Master bedroom broke, the fridge leaks, air filter hasn't been changed in a long time. Floors are filthy when we went in on first day. Could not watch DVD's on TV in LR. Tried but could not get it to work. Two windows in LR had no blinds. Anyone could see right in. Electrical plug downstairs on post shocked my husband. Not grounded correctly. Bench on the picnic table is close to falling down. Could not use. CAlled swede's the first day and told them about the microwave. They were going to send Maintenance out. He showed up on Thursday and took pictures and my husband tried to show him the other issues, but he was not interested. Overall it was a good family vacation but very disappointed in Swede's customer service and Rental. WOULD NOT rent this house. read more

So there are several reasons me along with the 15 people we had with us are unhappy with our stay with Swedes. First, we arrived after 5 hours of driving to find no linens were provided. Meaning no bath towels, hand towels, and in our very disappointing case...bed sheets or even pillow cases. We then reached out about these and we were then told in the confirmation email it states you have to purchase the linen package for these items. We then looked at said email and found BURIED in a slew of polices and legal jargon a small sentence saying linens were not provided. We then asked if we could purchase the linen package and were told they did not have enough linens available to purchase at that time. All of us were left to sleep on mattress protectors and bare pillows with multiple, visible stains on them. Second, we then heard a very loud alarm start to go off. After reaching out we were told this was a septic system alarm and I was asked to "go check toilets, sinks, and showers for any issues." This not being my job as a tenet checked and found no issues, I was then told a maintenance worker would come and look at the alarm. The maintenance man arrived and shut the alarm off also showing my husband how to shut it off (this would include us getting a ladder which we don't have and climbing up and purposely putting ourselves in harms way). We finally escaped our "vacation house" and went to the beach. Arriving back later tired and ready to sit and enjoy a nice evening the alarm was again blazing. We reached out and again the maintenance came and shut this off, but 5 or so minutes later it sounded again. (We have recordings of how loud this really was) I reached out again and then got told to shut it off ourselves. Again putting ourselves in danger and messing with someone else's property we expressed to Swedes how unhappy about this we were, but we finally figured out how to get up there to shut it off. This happened a total of 8 times and then got told "this will happen every time you flush a toilet". Now, again let me remind you we had a total of 15 people. Lastly, with a giant 6 bedroom house that should be known for housing many people at a time, we only had 1 roll of toilet tissue in each bathroom. With only 3 bathrooms and only 3 rolls for 15 PEOPLE...it was just the icing on this very disappointing cake. Needless to say we along with all the people we were with and any people we know that come down to Crystal beach will not be booking with Swedes ever again. read more

I emailed Swede's reality February 1, 2014 inquiring about several different beach houses. I didn't hear anything back so on Tueday February 4, 2014 I sent another email to follow up and find out why i hadn't heard anything yet. As of today, February 28, 2014, I still have not heard anything. No one ever called me back or emailed me at all. Luckily i found other companies in the same area and have already booked a beach house for the summer. I am very dissapointed with this company. We have used them twice in the past and always had a great experience. Management must have changed or something but I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

So we booked a beachfront rental with Swedes online, four days later we received a call that the home was double booked and they were trying to "figure out what to do". We asked if there was a home that was similar to the one we rented. They continued to send us houses that were too small or were not in the same...class as the one we had booked. Finally the "manager" called us back and stated that if we did not like the 3 bdrm homes that she sent us then she would just have to refund our deposit. We explained that this trip was planned between three families and that we needed at least a four bedroom. She said she knows this and that this is why she started the refund process! We hadn't even gotten off of the phone or confirmed that we did not want one of the houses. Worst customer service I have ever received. I would never recommend this company to anyone, horrible, horrible service. Now we have a few days to find a new rental without getting over charged and it is looking bleak!!! Okay, so I'm a owner of a beach house that I listed with Swedes. They are terrible. Could care less about your property. The reason why the properties are dirty is because the cleaning up is terrible and I do not believe Swedes inspects the property at all to see what if any damage have been done by the previous renter. They rented my house 4 times and I inspected myself twice and it was terrible. Dirty and damages. I took pictures of what the cleaning people left for the next renter to walk into. Swedes has still not answered my emails about my A/C being left on 61, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, light fixtures still broken (but Swedes charged my to fix), etc. OWNERS - DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE HANDLE YOUR HOMES. read more

Rental at Crystal beach was in poor condition and very dirty to the point of being unsanitary. Furniture old and broken ( unuseable) and deck had spongy spots along with missing baluster on the deck rail. Told the agent about the condition and I'm not sure they even cared. I have mixed reviews. 1st.. I've been renting at Crystal Beach for only 5 years, so I'm not seasoned YET, but I've done it enough to know that Swedes truly has the lock on rentals at CB. With that being said, I think that they know it. Before the hurricane, I swear customer response and attitude was much friendlier. I get that they answer the same questions 100 times a day, and probably do their jobs in their sleep.. I get it. But dont treat my $1000 (minimum) as such. When you know that they dont care about your hard earned $1000+, it sucks. I called to inquire about having a wedding on the beach there, since we loved our 2011 trip to CB, and it was somewhat shot down. I have family coming in from all over the US, so we NEED to make reservations for things like flights and sleeping arrangements, but it was very much "oh well we cant rent until this date", no matter what. I understand that they are bound by the properties they manage, and those owners calendars, but who wants to book a flight and just HOPE that they'll have a place to stay.. or fight any other caller on the "approved" day to call about properties available to rent. Its nerve wracking. BUT, we LOVE CB so we go back. They, along with many of the other beach property management companies, CATER TO WEEK LONG RENTALS. DO NOT expect to rent a weekend until the Monday before you'd like to rent it. Do you know how much that sucks... We watched the calendar for weeks.. and dont you know the house we wanted was rented out a few days before the "approved Monday" so we missed out on the 4 bedroom that slept 14, and had to settle for 3 bedroom that slept 8.. BIG difference. Moral of the story, call around. There are other companies thatll rent a weekend to you. They DO have a higher deposit, but they will do a weekend in advance time for you to PLAN a trip. OR, plan accordingly with time and money, and do a week. Which, all in all, if you are driving 3+ hours to get TO the beach, we've come to find that a weekend just aint enuff-- so next year WILL be a week. Yay! My advice is to get further away from the Ferry. We've stayed on a few spots of CB, and this past weekend we were TOO damn close to the Ferry IMO. I was hella disappointed that the stankin ass port-a-potty and HUUUUGE dumpster was something that was left on the residence side of the beach, and therefor something that you were forced to look at while sitting on the porch enjoying the ocean.. Total turn off! It was full to the max- the dumpster. Literally, the walk from the beach to the house, 2nd/3rd row, was littered with trash and stunk. As soon as the smell went away, in came the zombie/piranha mosquitos that we were told NOTHING about in preparation for our weekend there. Im in Austin. As my credit card states.. I know NOTHING about the mosquitos that coastal Texas gets after a rain, but the folks that took my $ did.. IJS. We got out of the car and were attacked. I was pissed. I would have loved to have known in advance so I could score some citronella at a decent price, rather the beach price. BUT, you live and you learn. Another NEW thing we were hit with this last trip was the parking permit required for the beach??!!! This is our 4th time staying in CB and this was the 1st time being told we had to have a parking pass. It was only $10, and its good for a year, but the fools selling and ordering you to have one are A TRIP!... I asked when that started, and was told 2007. Again, another something Ive NEVER heard from the folks @ Swedes. I went back and read thru my rental agreement just to make sure I didn't pull a "moment", and nothing. Will I be back. ABSOLUTELY! We LOVE CB. We love the privateness that CB offers. Its NOT Galveston, so its nice and perfect for families. Could Swedes tighten up on their communication and customer service, I totally believe so. I DID talk to the owners son, I think it was Leo... I was luck to have talked to him one day when I called about some properties and he was SO FRIENDLY!!! He took his time, he didnt rush me off the phone and he was just perfect.. When I tried to call later, I was told "oh, you can talk to me, anyone here can help you"... Well, I asked for Leo... Like I said.. Ill go back because I love the beach. They have some AWESOME properties to rent, and their website is awfully comprehensive! I like the comments below the pix on their website, and the calendar seems to be updated immediately. Never again!!! Huge disappointment......Rented the Coronado's, cable TV didn't work, floors were sandy and full of dust bunnies, but we were instructed to sweep up at the end of our rental! Ants in the kitchen, broken coffee maker, lights in closets didn't work, animal feces on the back deck been there for days. Cooked food left in BBQ pit, insulation falls on carport because birds are making nests in the floors of the house and knock the insulation on top of your vehicles. Worst part is Swedes customer service just doesn't seem to care if you are a repeat customer or not. Felt like more of an inconvenience to complain. They made notes of the problems and that was all! We rented the Pineapple Paradise home on Sand Dune Drive and it was spectacular. The home was super clean and appeared to be newly built. It was full furnished with three large rooms, Direct TV in all rooms and free WiFi! The views were spectacular from the two stories of decks. Me and my wife and a few friends stayed at the Aria beach house. one word!!!! BEAUTIFUL! the deck is big and close to a store if you need stuff. AMAZING time and Beautiful area. Also the house is just far enough away you can hear the beach people. VERY NICE read more

we got home 1 week ago we rented sea sprit it was the second time we have rented this cabin last year it nice but this year it was dirty a lot of hair all over the furniture it was not dog hair it was very long .we could not get the key to work in the front door there were bees and a hive by the back door when I called to report it they told me someone would come the next day we stayed for a week no repair man or bug man ever came will not use this real estate next year no body called to see if repairs were made we love the area it is worth a 750 mile drive but I will look some where else read more

We have used swedes for our crystal beach vacations for several years. They have a very good collection of properties, and the area is really delightful. However, the last time there was not good. In fact, it was very irritating. First of all, the house rented had not been cleaned. On arrival, the floors were dirty, bathroom dirty, previous guests things here and there. Called the following day and a housekeeper came, I asked her to mainly do kitchen and bathroom since I was not feeling well. The rest of the time I was upset about the mess left behind. Upon checking out I told the reception people about this and they were not helpful. I wanted my cleaning dep. back. Never heard from them. One more story...on another visit, at a diff house the owner decided he needed to do repairs and yard work while we were there! Noise, intrusion. Again, I told them this was our time. No response...get it together swedes. Very surly staff. read more

Most rude office staff I have ever interacted with. Here is an idea, if you hate customers so much, sell your properties and fire your staff. This alone, along with the frustration of even renting the place, gets this a 1 star review. I would rather hang myself or talk to time Warner support for 3 days straight than ever deal with these jerks again. read more

Mother's Day weekend 2017 we stayed at "Somewhere Be On the Sea". It had everything we needed for a home away from home vacation by the beach. Check in and out times are great (12 and 4). Bright decor, clean on arrival, plenty of space, helpful staff who are accessible whenever needed. Short walk or drive to beach access on a family friendly part of Crystal Beach. We rented Davis Beach and the house is definitely a great 4 bed beach house. A couple of negative issues the back yard full of stickers cant walk barefoot , beach access was full of knee high water which smelled of sewer and mesquitoes were so large and so bad i literally had 15-20 on me just taking trash out. We went thru 6 cans of outdoor fogger not real helpful. Talked to locals at store and they had battery powered fogger which seemed to work wished we wouldve know this before arriving or if house had already there would have been nice. read more

We were at a cabin that some friends were renting from Swede's for their daughters bday party. Swede's sent one of their maintenance guys (who was wearing a company shirt) by to fix something. As my wife and I were leaving with our two kids I realized that he was just barely blocking me in so I went up to him and politely asked him if he could pull up a little. I'm not sure if he heard me or not because he just turned away and walked to the back of the truck. I asked him again and he just said "In a minute" in an extremely rude way and turned and walked back to whatever it was he was working on. I followed and asked him more forcefully if we would just move his truck for us and he turned around and literally yelled "I SAID IN A MINUTE!". I didn't want to get into more of a confrontation with my wife and kids sitting there so i got in the car and just decided to try and squeeze by his truck. He saw this and came sprinting up yelling and cussing me. He was screaming "You better not hit my f****** truck! Over and over. I rolled my window down to tell him to move it and he came over and stuck his head in my window and continued to yell and swear at me in front of my wife and two young kids. I rolled my window up and he finally went to his truck and moved out of my way. As we were leaving our friends that were renting the cabin called and asked us what happened and after we told them they said that when they initially talked to him he had been one of the rudest people they had ever dealt with. I was obviously upset over this so I drove straight to Swede's office to talk to someone. I spoke with the owner of the company and she said that she had already talked to the employee and she frankly didn't believe what I was telling her. I asked her to call the people that were renting the cabin and speak to them. Several people saw what happened (including kids) and could attest to what I was saying. She flat out refused and just kept saying how nice of a guy he was and how he would never do anything like that. She even went so far as to tell me that I was at fault. One of the most surreal experiences of my life. I've never seen an employee act like that and then have the owner of the company refuse to do anything about it or even look into it. If I ran my business that way I would be run out of town. We rent cabins a couple of times a year and I would never use this company. If you are thinking of looking for a rental then go to one of the other companies that know what customer service (and safety) is and let them treat you right. read more
