After my previous doctor retired, I started with Dr. Dong. She really goes above and beyond to understand everything going on and spends the time, when needed, to really get into it. I definitely get the vibe that she truly cares and is great at internal medicine. When an emergency came up, and I was hospitalized, Dr. Dong and her team were quick to get follow-up blood work ordered and office visits scheduled to make sure everything continued to get better. I have been to Swedish for annual preventive care for 15 yrs. Doctor retired and was seeing new doctor. Ask the doctor for additional blood test due to high cholesterol in the past couple years but was told that I need to be referred to cardiologists. The office charge for additional office visit for $235 this kind of question. Very disappointed. As a patient I don't feel comfortable asking question or expressing any health concern during office visit any longer. I cannot in good conscience let people ever go see Dr. Wei. His behavior and attitude towards patients is disgusting and borderline negligent. My husband went to see Dr. Wei for intense pain in his knee. On the day of his appointment, the office called and asked my husband if he could come in half an hour earlier because Dr. Wei had a "meeting". My husband agreed, showed up 15 minutes before the new appointment time...and of course, Dr. Wei doesn't actually see him until nearly his original appointment time. Possibly because of his "meeting", Dr. Wei was incredibly short and rushed with my husband. He felt my husband's knee, declared that nothing was wrong and tried to get my husband to leave. My husband explained to him that he couldn't support his full weight with that knee, and that bending down caused him excruciating pain. Dr. Wei LITERALLY SHRUGGED and asked my husband what he wanted him to do. UM HOW ABOUT DO YOUR DAMN JOB?! My husband was shocked and asked him to examine his knee more carefully. Dr. Wei dismissed him, telling him to get some [insert medical name here] before asking "Do you know what that is?" No, we don't know what that is because WE DIDN'T GO TO MEDICAL SCHOOL LIKE YOU SUPPOSEDLY DID! Dr. Wei was like, oh, it's Motrin. Get some Motrin and a knee brace. So why didn't you say Motrin, you smug SOB. My husband asked him if there's any other exams Dr. Wei could do - and Dr. Wei said, what, you want an MRI? Is that what you want? You don't need one. It was obvious that Dr. Wei had more important places to be and couldn't be bothered to take his patient's pain seriously. Let me just say - FUCK YOU DR. WEI. My husband is the best person in the world, literally the kindest man ever, he's served 13 years (and counting) in the Navy and Reserves and because of that, has dealt with knee pain his whole career. How dare you dismiss his pain and act like he was bothering you?? You can count on my reporting you to the medical board and posting this review everywhere BECAUSE NO PATIENT SHOULD BE MADE TO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE A WASTE OF YOUR PRECIOUS TIME. We are lucky that we can (and will) switch to a different provider since Swedish apparently does not care about their patients enough to hire competent doctors. This whole experience just reminds me of the thousands of veterans like my husband who are treated this way with little or no other options for medical care. If you're seen by a physician, they will only let you be seen for a single ailment. As a disabled veteran, my body is pretty broken from deployments, would be great to feel like my doctor cared about my well-being. Just a thought! Every person I spoke with here acted rushed. From my doctor to the receptionist, all around rude. Extremely rude nursing staff. Stay away from this place, it's a toxic environment and an embarrassment to our community. The only reason I come to to office is because it is near my home and work. Parking is easy. The doctors are okay, not great but if you need a flu shot or if you have a minor cold, they can handle that. This is where all the good things about the Swedish Factoria Primary office ends. If you look at other reviews, you will find a common theme. There is unprofessional and incompetent behavior from the support staff. Mistakes have been wrong appointment information given to me, wrong test or labs were ordered, no one returning calls or messages for over a week, etc. The mistakes aren't life threatening, just annoying. I don't if it's a lack of skill level but they also have a lot of support staff turnaround. ALICE at the front desk is the worst. I have heard her openly talk negatively about patients and her peers and she does this in the open area for the entire lobby to hear. This happens every time she's been at the front desk. There have been patients that walk up to tell her that she is being unprofessional and Alice doesn't care instead she just scowls. Alice is always rude to everyone. I don't know how she is the "face" of the clinic since she works in the front. If you ask Alice a question, she'll probably give you the wrong answer and not care or Alice acts like you are a pest because you asked a legitimate questions. There are multiple complaints about Alice in these Yelp reviews so I know I'm not the only person that has noticed. I've mentioned my concerns each time to the doctors I've seen but Alice is still there. I was just in the office and Alice was there and just as rude as ever. She was even rude to patients calling on the phone. I don't think this is a training issue, it's a personality issue. I hope things do improve at this clinic and maybe my review has pointed out some of these areas. I probably should change clinics but I don't have complaints about the actual doctors it's just the support staff. read more

1 star is GENEROUS...I have been a patient for over 20 years...gluten for punishment...OBVIOUSLY. I am only giving it a 1 because I can't give a ZERO rating and I actually liked my doctor. My husband left about 5+ years ago because he had a bad experience, but finding a new doctor is never fun so my daughter and I stayed. I can't tell you how many times I've arrived early and had to wait FOREVER to be seen, however if you are the one that is late they treat you like crap! Doesn't matter if you try to call because you can't get through! One appointment I was late due to traffic and was treated poorly. I was scolded by the nurse and told I was supposed to get there 30 minutes BEFORE my appointment (let's call my appointment time 30 minutes earlier NOT a check in time). I wasn't told the reasoning why I needed to be there and would have dressed accordingly. I have never had an EKG and didn't know all of the area you need access to...FYI they put sensors under your boob, your leg, pretty much all over...Because I was late I felt like I was being punished. They hooked me up to the machine and left me on the table with my chest exposed for at least 20-30 minutes. I had to use the restroom so I took the sensors off trying to remember they they go so I could put them back. As I leave the exam room to use the restroom the nurse realizes (I think) that she left me in the room. To my surprise when I come back the machine is gone! So you mean I payed there exposed for NO reason?!? I almost stopped going after that appointment. But no I keep going because I liked my doctor. Another visit I get there on time and am waiting FOREVER. I finally get a room and the nurse scolds me that the reason why they saw me late was because I checked in late. Ummmm NO I was here on time. She argues with me a few times. I wasn't backing down because of our last interaction I was mad. She told me because I was late they saw the couple that checked in before me. Ummmm...NO that is not right I was here BEFORE them. She looks at my chart and realizes they didn't check me in timely. What's the point of having checkin times and appointment times if the check in time is the only thing that matters. So if I show up at 8AM and my appointment isn't until 9AM I can get in early?!? DUMB!!! Last straw...traffic was TERRIBLY backed up. I tried calling 4 times unsuccessfully. I get there 5 minutes after my appointment time, BUT 20 minutes past my check in time...really check in consists of my name, who am I seeing, have I travelled outside the country in the last 3 weeks... NOT 15 minutes worth of questions. The receptionist tells me oh no you are late. You are 20 minutes past your checkin time. Really?!? Yes you would know that if you actually answered your phone!!! They check with the nurse and she said nope you are too late and you need to reschedule. I walked out...I don't need this bs and stress in my life. My daughter and I will not be going back. All the years I have been going the office staff turnover is CRAZY! I miss the the early days. Now it's a hot mess and your patients are dropping like flies. My doctor delivered my now almost 16 year old and it will be sad to leave her, but not sad to leave this place that could care less about your time and only their time! *Many more appointments that I could comment about, but not enough space or time I want to spend on this crappy office. read more

My husband and I recently decided to switch our family doctor and look for another physician whom we felt would be able to meet specific needs within our family better. We looked around for quite a bit and decided to meet with Dr. Liu for our annual check ups after seeing her introduction video posted on Swedish. Scheduling an appointment with Dr. Liu was easy and without hassle. What I really like most was how much time Dr. Liu cared to spend talking to both my husband and me to learn about any family history/health records so that she could advice or watch out for any potential risks that each of us had. Both my husband and I came from our check ups and felt that we made a really good decision to now come to Swedish to see Dr. Liu. Though we both ended up with follow up appointments due to certain test results, we were glad that Dr. Liu cared enough to spend time talking to us to make sure we are aware of any potential health issues and help figure out how to get our health more on track! read more

I don't recommend this place to other people. The only reason I went to this clinic is because it's close to where I live and I am lazy searching for another doctor. After several bad experiences, earlier this year I finally find another clinic. 1. The doctor you see on your first appointment will be your only doctor, even if he/she is on vacation, you are not allowed to see another doctor. You have to wait 2 or 3 weeks until your doctor comes back. During those 2 or 3 weeks, you are on your own. No one will help you or care about you. 2. Alice -- Dr Ma's medical assistant is very very rude. I don't know if it's because I don't speak her language (Chinese?). Her English is terrible and she treats patients like trash. read more

There are so many disappointing things to say about this clinic. I used to think it was fairly decent - I've been going for 5-6 years. Dr. Bishop didn't recognize me on my last visit. I had already been a patient of hers for approximately 4 years. When I gently re-introduced myself, she stared blankly at me. No response, no apologies. She then proceeded to make me tell her my entire personal history again. Even though she was looking at my chart. Then she staples her card to a form, and says, "Come back for a physical." ?!!?! She came off as impersonal and pompous - not the doctor I first met, years ago. My experience with Dr. Nguyen wasn't much better. She is pleasant enough at first. But obviously doesn't want to spend more than the requisite amount of doctor/patient time. She doesn't like too many questions and becomes curt, very quickly. The facility is old. I had a procedure in a room that was grungy - the floors were filthy. I didn't want to put my bag down. I'm in a paper gown, in stirrups. The nurse pulled a curtain across the door and warned me that other staff MIGHT COME IN during my procedure to look for supplies!!! WTF? My most frustrating experience was when I was caught in bad traffic on the way there. I called and told the receptionist that I was going to be 5-10 minutes late. She confirmed I could still show up. I arrived at exactly 10 minutes late. And they told me I had to reschedule my appt. When I complained and protested, they gave me the number of their PR representative. I'm a very informed, proactive, efficient patient. I rarely need to go to the doctor. This clinic has pathetic customer service and uncaring staff. When you make an appointment, BEWARE: When you are told your appointment is at 2:30, and you show up at 2:30. You will be told you are late and may not be able to get in. Why?? Because you are suppose to know, it is this locations "policy" to have all patients check in 15 minutes prior to their appointment. Oh, no one mentioned that when you booked your first, second or third appointment. Sorry. Oh, your appointment was for a fasting blood draw? Sorry. It is our "policy" that if you are 6 minutes late, you have to reschedule. When I make a dentist appointment for 2:30, I show up at 2:30 and there is not an issue. What a concept?!? So, are senior citizens suppose to remember that at this clinic you are suppose to arrive 15 minutes early to your appointments? I have been going to this clinic over 9 years ( three different insurances) now and I have never had a bad experience.Dr. Xue, is a very caring conscientious Doctor. The office staff are all courteous and very helpful. They are primary care not urgent care and it looks as if some people are confusing the fact. That said they have gotten me in on extremely short notice to be seen when I needed it. When we first moved to the area, we looked for doctors for our kids covered by insurance and not too far away from home. Swedish Physicians fit that bill. I was trying to see how a family physician might be better than a pediatrician, which they'd previously had. So far, I've never had a good family physician experience. This was no different. The staff is not friendly. There are huge waits and you feel like a number. The doctor was plain weird. We had some troubles communicating with their office. I actually think I spoke to someone in billing who did not speak English. I'm glad they had someone for non-English speakers to speak to, but it really ended poorly for me. After a month or so, after both my husband and I got irritated multiple times we left. I still had troubles with the group for awhile after we left. My suggestion? Find someone else on your insurance nearby your home or office. read more

The appointment desk is rude and unprofessional. I asked if there was same day appointment available, she simply told me they were not urgent care. How unprofessional! The doctor I had was friendly, but she let me stay coughing for 4 weeks. They made me go to the clinic THREE times, to give me different prescription each time, at last they finally gave me antibiotics and that's what made my coughing stopped. At first, I was definitely scared to go into this place reading all the negative reviews. I'm sorry they had a bad experience, but mine was absolutely fantastic! I have state insurance, and a lot of times that comes with being treated like you're next to nothing. Let me just walk you through the highlights here: Receptionist was very courteous and answered some of my stupid questions. He took my ID and insurance card and I went to sit down to fill out the paper work. Instead of yelling at me from across the room to tell me he had my ID or to wait until I was done, he stopped what he was doing, came out of his desk area and walked my ID and card over to me...I just thought that was really nice. That doesn't usually happen, especially at a clinic. A kind nurse then walked me through the office, seated me in a room and was very kind the whole way. I've met some rude/impatient nurses at the UW clinic before so this was a nice change. Dr. Ma was very knowledgable, took the time to really answer my questions & confusions, and I'm pretty sure we went over time even though the clinic was closed. She told me to get a blood test and told me to go down to the lab, but I got kind of lost, so the same nurse from before walked me all the way down to the lab, and there was THE sweetest older woman who was there to administer the test. She made me feel at ease even though blood/needles make me nauseous, and even afterwards she walked me out to the correct exit because the building was closed and she knew I would get lost. It just warms my heart to get A+ customer service where everyone here went above and beyond. That's a rare thing to find now. This office used to be excellent, been a patient since 2004. At the time I took it for granted. Now I realize how good things used to be. No more. Today I tried to schedule a simple checkup by phone. Spent about 45 minutes variously on hold and trying to talk with assistants, most of whom were not native english speakers and were very difficult to understand. When my call got dropped midway through a conversation, I hoped the nurse would call right back since she had required my phone number. No such luck. I had to call the main desk again, sit on hold for *another* 15 minutes, and re-start the conversation with a different person. My former doc has left the clinic (and now I know why). Only one doc is accepting new patients, and he had "only" one available appointment -- Friday next week. That's a long wait, so I requested an Rx refill in the meantime. Refill was denied, even though it is medication I've been taking for a decade through this clinic. The new doc requires that I see him first. I was offered another time slot -- the "only" one available, despite what I was told earlier -- mid-day Tuesday next week. Since I have to work in Seattle, that does not fit my schedule. None of the other 8 docs has any availabilty at all. Enough. The headache of doing business with these guys does not fit my schedule either. Time to find a new clinic. read more

Went in for my annual physical. Was trying a new Swedish doctor at this location after going to another location for a couple years. Showed up at 8:17am for an 8:30 appt. Checked in and started filling out the paperwork (just one page, front and back). Then the receptionist came out and sat down next to me to tell me that my appointment was at 8:15 and that I was supposed to have been there at 8am, so I needed to reschedule. This was a reschedule of an appointment with the same doctor from the week before when he had to cancel. So I show up 2 minutes after the appointment was supposed to start and they tell me I have to reschedule. Because it was for a physical I'd fasted for my blood work. Needless to say I said adios and will be looking for a new location. Update: I have to say I'm not surprised with the online response from Swedish. Nothing about the absurdity of turning me away for being 2 minutes late, only focusing on one comment I made. I have gone back to the UW Medicine clinic where they're more focused on patient care than punctuality. Judging by the multiple other reviews where people were turned away for being late you'd think at the very least they'd make it clear when you make an appointment that if you don't show up 15 minutes early you won't be seen. She gives thorough explanations of why she's recommending treatment and let's you make informed decisions about your own health. I went in yesterday for a sudden pain in my wrist and my neck. I had good experience in the past with my primary doctor and a few other doctors. However, this time it is Dr. Esmail... Just as others mentioned, it is hard to communicate with him, namely he keeps talking, like in a rush. I tried to describe my conditions on both wrist and neck. He stopped me and saying that he can only listen to one issue a time and I need to make another appointment for a second problem. Although I felt painful in my neck as well, I had worst problem with my wrist, so my neck is sacrificed. I think all good reviews here are either written by friends or staff. Do not see Dr. Bishop. Her bedside manner is horrible, it feels like she judges you when you ask simple questions. She neglected to tell me that certain things on my blood test were dangerously low. She will send you bills on top of what insurance is responsible for, so you will end up with charge that your insurance simply won't cover because they do not agree with it. Another review on Terrible service for this Factoria clinc. Hopefully Swedish cares about how they treat their patients and looks into this scam of a location. My girlfriend went to this clinic for a standard appointment awhile back. While in the appointment the doctor decided to bring in a psychiatrist (Jacob Bruels), without her consent, who was condescending a rude the entire time. The doctor also failed to inform her that she was being billed for it. After the bill she called the payment services department who submitted "report" about her claims. They denied the claim in a letter for reason she did not even give them and would not provide any proof about furnishing a consent to treatment which we requested. I've been seen at the Swedish Physicians office in Queen Anne before and been satisfied with the care I received there, but seeing as I've already missed far too much work with the Creeping Death that's plagued me for the past two months, I decided to opt for the Bellevue location, since it's near work. First, the good: * Like other Swedish Physicians locations, they make same-day appointments. I called at 8:00 and had a nice range of times that day to pick from. * They're efficient. My check-in time was 3:10, with an appointment time of 3:30, but I was five minutes early, and the doctor actually saw me at 3:18. I was out at 3:36. * They're nice. While the front desk staff wasn't particularly friendly, the doctor didn't seem rushed and listened to me. Now on to the bad: * The doctor didn't communicate very well. After telling me that my symptoms were classic sinusitis, he suggested a CT of my sinuses, although he noted that it was odd that the multiple courses of antibiotics I've been on hadn't killed it. I asked him why he wanted to do it. He said, "to see if you actually have a sinus infection." I asked him if he had reason to suspect anything else, and he said no. Okay, well, if the only thing the symptoms suggest is a sinus infection, and I'm clearly not imagining it, as demonstrated by the fever I'm running, why would you test for something you're already 99.9% sure I have? Just give me the damn superantibiotics already. (Even when I phrased the same question to him, albeit more politely, he didn't seem able to articulate a compelling reason for the test.) Later a friend said that he probably wanted to check my sinuses for abnormalities that could explain why this has gone on for so long. That's a sound reason and one I would have said yes to, and not that hard to explain. * Do NOT, under any circumstances, allow them to use their computer system to fax your prescription to your pharmacy without giving you a paper copy. This happened at Queen Anne, too, but they'd given me a paper copy, and I thought I'd misunderstood them when they said they were conveying the prescription to the pharmacy. The doctor asked what pharmacy I wanted my prescription sent to. I told him the Crossroads Bartell's. He said he'd sent it there, and remembering the mix-up last time, I asked for a paper copy. Which he assured me I didn't need. I pressed a little, but he insisted it would be fine, so I gave in and left without it. Over 24 hours later, after being sent on a wild goose chase that took me repeatedly across Bellevue, I finally was able to pick up my prescription. I'm not sure how much of the screw up was Swedish (they never actually sent it to the pharmacy I'd requested), and how much was Bartell's (one of the pharmacies deleted it without filling it, and wasn't able to explain why), but seriously, guys, it's not nice to torment sick people. * Finally, they get a massive score of FAIL on follow-ups. I've been throwing up all day, which to the best of my knowledge is NOT a normal symptom of a sinus infection, and I called in the morning and asked them to have a doctor call me back regarding whether I could take some prescription anti-nausea meds I have left over from another illness with the antibiotic I'm on. I think I called them around 10:30 AM. It's now 6:00 PM, and I haven't heard from them. Lame. read more

We recently moved to the area and both my husband and I were looking for a new family physician. After visiting this office, we'll continue looking. We each scheduled a physical/initial appointment. We both had the same experience with different doctors. They spent zero time reviewing our medical history that we had to provide on the lengthy paperwork. They asked "what are you here for?" When told "for a wellness check-up" my husband was told by the doctor "you're fine. most guys your age are." And this was based on nothing-- I guess just a brief look at him. No tests, no temp check, nothing. Both of us got a refill for medication and were told to book another appointment for a checkup. For what, I'm not sure-- so we can come again and have the doctor ask us what we're there for and do nothing? Oh, and the best part-- because the doctors didn't do the wellness checkup, we had to pay out of pocket for a doctors office visit. I visited the clinic on Thursday October 20th for a procedure scheduled more than 30 days previously. I arrived 15 minutes early as directed. When I first came in they pretended their computers were "down" and asked me to write down my personal information on a piece of paper?! The person immediately behind me in line didn't have this problem. Next I waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the waiting room and not once did anyone acknowledge my presence. After an hour I asked what the holdup was and was kept waiting another 15 minutes. They have started turning people away if they arrive at their appointment time, not at the check in time of 15 minutes before that. Dr. Lazarous is exceedingly competent, always made me feel comfortable telling her very private information, and I will miss her terribly, but not enough to come back after watching one staff member avoid looking at me as she wrote "late arrival" on a piece of paper and sternly passed it to the person checking me in. There was nothing new on their appointment information to indicate this significant policy change, which surprised several people standing in line for their appointments for 10 minutes who were told they were late and had to reschedule. Yes, it's my fault for not being present for my check in time for 15 years straight, but clearly the new level of enforcement was not communicated well. The insensitivity of the staff's approach to the situation did not help. read more

The good thing about this place is that I've always been able to get an appointment on the same day when I've needed to see someone quickly. Other doctors offices have made me wait for days or even weeks to see someone. The bad... wait times are a little annoying. Why tell you to show up 15 minutes early if you aren't going to be called in to see the doctor until 20 minutes after the appointment time? This might just be bad luck when I went there, but I'm not counting this as a major drawback because this seems to be true for almost every general practice, family , or internal medicine doctors office I've been to in the past decade. Staff are what I would call friendly but not especially warm. My experience with different doctors at this clinic is varied. I saw Dr. Lee for the first time last week and she was really good. Other doctors I've felt have all been competent but l haven't felt as connected to them, or were a little too eager to upset my existing medication that has worked for years. Some of the doctors I've seen have moved their practice elsewhere, but so far as the existing are concerned I would say that both doctor Lee and doctor Esmail are quite good. read more

Dr. Bishop has been my family physician for years. She listens carefully and answers all my questions thoroughly. She is very personable and besides addressing my main concern, offers helpful suggestions in indirectly related areas of concern. I never feel hurried in her office. Plus, her office systems are very up-to-date and you walk away with a summary of your visit for your records. read more

She listens and is very carefully analyzes what you say, discusses options and treatment paths. I drive from Orcas Island to see her. I am very healthy and happy because of her care.
