I was very hesitant to try a new hair salon, but I do not regret coming here one bit! They were able to fit me into their schedule on such short notice. Granted, it was a bit of a wait, but I didn't have any complaints. Deanna is amazing and actually listened to what I wanted. I wanted to cut my hair a bit shorter, but I'm glad she shared her input as well and suggested that I keep it at collarbone length so that I could still pull it into a ponytail for the summer. She didn't force her opinion on me, but merely shared a personal experience with her decision against super short hair. I ended up getting a wash, cut, and blow-dry all for only $35 (as opposed to the usual $50 I spend at my normal salon). After the blow-dry, my hair looked fabulous, and I got numerous compliments. I love the a la carte pricing. A haircut is just $15 and they won't blowdry and style it unless I actually want them to. Unfortunately, the stylist who cut my hair was not friendly (didn't say a word to me once she started cutting) and did a terrible job. UPDATE: I went back and had a senior stylist (their rates are a little bit higher) give me highlights and a cut and she did a wonderful job! She was friendly and honest. Gave me her opinion but respected mine. And everything turned out amazing! UPDATE: I have gone back several times now (mainly for highlights) and found another employee there who is just as good as the senior designer! (The senior designers cost a little more). But both of these girls were very friendly and chatty (but not too much) and did an excellent job on my hair! For the price, I won't go anywhere else! Oh and they also have awesome hours. I have since increased my review to four stars because I only had that one bad experience with a specific hair stylist and I have not seen her there since. I also wanted to respond to Kisa below. When I first went for highlights there, I told the senior designer that I wanted red and I picked out the color. She informed me that red highlights on my hair would fade fast and that blonde would work better. While I knew what she was saying, I was not interested in blonde highlights. I did have to be more assertive than I should have been but I was firm on my decision and told her that I definitely wanted red. Well, when the highlights came out, she thought they were perfect! And i loved them too. So, while I do sort of agree that they might try to pressure you into something they want -- it's your hair, you make the final decision. read more

This may have been the worst hair cut experience I've ever had. The women there seem to have an attitude and the girl that cut my hair relentlessly talked my ear off. Since she was too busy hearing herself talk, I don't think she listened to what I was asking to have done. I wanted my hair at shoulder length and she cut it nearly two inches higher and made the back shorter than the front and uneven. I was really upset when I got home and I saw how bad it was and had to have another hairdresser fix the bad cut; whom I now use as my regular. This place is a total waste of time and money. Pros: Short wait with appointment PRICE Somewhat friendly, did not make unnecessary fake small talk Cons: Refused to take 5 mins to blow-dry my hair because she did not have time...that's just bad business. Did a poor job of shampoo/rinse (spent like 30s...I had to ask her if there was still soap in my hair) I asked her for hair advice. She responded politely but only gave short, direct answers. I have been here a few times. The 1st chair hairdresser is good but she has regular clients and has never taken me, with or without appointment. The girl on 2nd chair is ok. I go to her for basic trims 2-3 times a year because she does the job and you can't beat the prices. My bangs, which are trimmed regularly, are trusted upon someone else. read more

Usually I always go to the one down the street from me in milltown always great haircuts and always have promotions and accept any coupons I got a coupon for this one for this one and they wouldn't accept it! They said it was from shoprite and I needed the receipt went to my regular one showed them my phone and the print out and they accepted it don't even waste your time going to this one, it's obvious there is no professional curtesy. I rather use the coupon and use the difference to give to the stylist I see why there were one 2 people in there and the other one was packed I have a appointment for 3 with them the one in milltown is the best. Not to mention the way the spoke to me was as if I presented them some fake coupon what's the deal with that super rude, was reading other reviews about the cuts themselves who knows what kind of pride they may even take on their work if they care that much about money. Really bad business move though lose a lot more money in the long run doing business like that. I recently moved to the area and needed a good place to get my hair cut. The hair cuts were decent and reasonably priced. I figured I would give them a try for highlights and was extremely disappointed. The stylist was raving about a new brightener they had just received and decided to use it on me. Bad choice-she used me as her guinea pig and the results were awful! I had to leave town for a few weeks so couldn't immediately get back into the salon. When I called a few weeks later to have someone fix the "bride of Frankenstein" streaks she had put up the side of my head, I was informed that a week had past and they would not fix their mistake. I was encouraged to book another appointment and pay full price for someone to give me more bad highlights versus fix their own horrible work. This is not only unprofessional but completely unacceptable. Ladies steer clear of Sweeney Todd's in Piscataway unless you want to look like a freak. read more

When I went there in past and paid more for a Sr. stylist, I had a decent hair cut. I started getting email with coupons or half off haircut so I made an appointment and went there. In my rush to get there on time, I forgot my coupon and told the girl as soon as I realized it while signing-in the front desk. The person was not so friendly and would not honor the half off coupon rate. I was told with attitude that it clearly says that you must have the coupon in order to get the $7 off. In these days where many salons take competitors and/or expired coupons, I thought it's bad business on the salon's end that they would not honor the half off and let a customer walk away when you a free stylist ...... I went today and aside from it being a bit stuffy inside (the AC was broken), it was a perfectly fine cut. I just got my ends trimmed off, but the woman who did it (didn't catch her name, but she was tanned and had long red/black hair) was polite and knew what she was doing. The price is great as well. I needed a haircut and I passed by this place. I am hispanic and saw a sign that said se habla espanol on the window so I went in figuring they had hispanic stylists...at least one. They didn t ...just white trash. They looked at eachother with a look of dread to decide who was going to have to cut my hair (which is shoulder length and wavy). They decided on a girl shaped like humpty dumpty with some kind of orange hair whose breath smelled like cigarettes. She was ugly. I didn t know how to exit. I was trapped. She did a lousy job shampooing my hair and started to make faces when she put a comb through my hair...like, ewww...cooties. I said I had to go because I was afraid it was going to take too long. They charged me $10 for a shampoo and a conditioner without dryer. The girl tried to lie and say the shampoo was $7 but the only halfway normal one corrected her...I could find out, after all. I left with wet hair. Don t ever go here if you are not white trash. They should remove the 'se habla espanol' sign and put up a Confederate flag as a heads up :-) I posted this on yahoo local and another reviewer had written that they cut her hair uneven. Her avatar looked like a brown person. I said they probably did it on purpose. Trust me, I am not exaggerating. Don't give them your money to treat you badly and mess up your hair! read more
