Unfortunately, this location was a very different story. I booked a wash and blow dry appointment for 6:45 and arrived early at 6:30. The entire reason for this appointment was simple: I have work tomorrow and needed my hair blow dried. I clearly stated this and received a nod of agreement. My hair was washed and conditioned, and I thought, great, we're off to a good start. That optimism lasted exactly five minutes. What followed was thirty minutes of detangling... and while I understand detangling is part of the process, this was slow, uncomfortable, and completely overtook the appointment. I stayed quiet at first, assuming we'd move on shortly. Another 30 minutes passed. At this point, I gently said that my hair didn't need to be perfectly detangled, my main priority was the blow dry. It was now 7:18 PM when I was informed about an optional deep conditioning treatment that supposedly makes detangling easier. I'm still not sure why this wasn't mentioned before we spent an entire half hour detangling. Then I was told that if I chose that option, my hair could not be blow dried. Pause. Because my appointment was for a wash and blow dry. I declined and reiterated that I wanted my hair blow dried. I was told "okay." Perfect. Except then I was informed: after all this time.... that I would be charged a detangling fee. When I asked why this hadn't been explained beforehand (especially since budgets are a thing), I was told the fee would be $85. Please imagine my face. At this point, a manager became involved, and unfortunately the outcome stayed the same. By 7:30 PM, I was told that I would not be receiving the blow dry I booked. I work Monday through Friday and simply wanted to leave with dry hair. Instead, I left wet, frustrated, and in a damp shirt. I was offered a return visit the next day for them to finally blow dry my hair, but by then the damage was done. Playing with someone's hair in a world where appearances matter this much is wild, and it's not something anyone should have to experience. This location was incredibly disappointing. BEWARE!!!! Stylist took a break from dying my hair to go in the bathroom and do drugs, came back high as a kite and ruined my hair, I sat in the salon for 7 hours while they tried to fix it. The owner was aware of the situation but never came to the salon, although she was asked to, and said on the phone that she would come but instead she asked the previous owner to try and resolve matters My husband went to the salon in Milltown where the owner was working to ask her in person why she didn't go to help and she refused to admit she even owned the salon then called the cops on him. Worst place to work at. Sanitation sucks, as well as appointments. Why would you do appointments if you would take a walk-in 2 minutes before the next client WITH APPOINTMENT is about to walk in? The people that work here are really fake and two faced. They talk shit about each other in their backs. And let's not even talk about how things used to break and the girls here would say that Deanna was the one that did it. The owners are straight up shit, mostly Michele, she talks down to you and then expects you to be nice when she decides to talk nicely to you. Also, they love getting involved in your personal life :), great right? their work is OK, but it can improve. At last, when I stopped working here my life became so much better. I had a root color and hair trim scheduled with Sue on 3/7. (Scheduling over the phone is preferred.) I arrived a few minutes early and was seated while Sue finished with another customer. The layout of the seating is socially distanced, and everyone was wearing masks. When Sue was ready for me, she had me place my belongings in a plastic bin at the booth I was sitting at. She took a look at my hair and went to go mix up the dye. She also came back with those plastic ear covers that are supposed to protect your ears from the dye, but I could tell they had been used on another client because they were stained. Another thing I found odd was that she didn't brush my hair (typically you would expect that for even color); she just kind of freehanded it. But, whatever, I would wait for the final result. After the dye, she walked away. No communication, no timer set. I just took out my book and started reading because I expected to be sitting for about 20-30 minutes. She returned around 30 minutes later and rinsed my hair. Before I sat down in the chair, I pointed out to her that I had a new piercing in my ear so she would be careful. She washed my hair and I think she left in conditioner (didn't rinse it out). Then she started towel-drying my hair and hit my piercing hard, causing me to bleed. She did apologize, but come on.... She brought me over to a drying machine and had me sit there while she worked on another customer's hair. At this point, I was nervous about getting my hair cut by her. I waited until my hair was dry enough and I told her that I changed my mind about cutting it. I didn't even want her touching my hair anymore. When I went up to pay, I heard her tell the guy at the desk taking my payment to charge me $80 in Korean (I speak and understand Korean but I don't look it.) I just thought that was an absurd amount of money to charge for a root touch up, and especially since she wasn't careful with my ear. I tipped her $10 because she did SOMETHING, but gosh it wasn't a good experience at all. I won't be returning.

After my wash, she asked me if I only wanted a haircut....in english.... I was then charged for this wash. Then I showed her a picture of the cut I want, which is shoulder length. She cut my hair so short it's about 3 inches away from my shoulder. While she was cutting she seemed distracted by a conversation another hairstylist was having with her customer. She had just used it on another customer next to me and didn't clean it out before using on me, I could see there were still hairs in there and nothing was disinfected. Disappointed and won't be going back.
