Extremely disappointing experience. I was refused service by one of the staff members without any valid reason. Got my hair cut by Aarti. She was a very rude and condescending woman. Right as the session started, the first thing she said to me was "Did you even wash your hair?" in a rude manner. During the session, she made several comments about my hair, claiming "it's so rough" at least twice and even muttering "oh my God". She kept giving me dirty looks and made me extremely uncomfortable the entire time. She treated me like a child even though I am well into adulthood. went to go get my haircut at this greatclips. I am the person that just gets a "regular haircut " with no bells and whistles. Price for a regular haircut is 14 dollars. They cut hair alright with no issues, but there is a long wait. Prepare yourself to be there for 40-50 minutes. They may need to hire more barbers to offset the demand. The person cutting my hair seemed very quiet and uncomfortable , but tried to be slow and precise when cutting my hair. Overall, I am pretty happy for the end result + is an ok " no thrills" barbershop, but the long wait time really holds it back. read more

That's a terrible place to take your kids. I took my teenage son when he had pretty long hairs and any good barber could have done a very good cut and style. But these guys kept on asking the number. I asked if they can show some pictures so that I can tell what kind of style we want. But they had none. Basically, all they know is to trim the length of your hairs in all directions. Beyond that, they have no sense of styl. if you want to save money and do not care about the looks then this may be the place for you. But if you care about the looks and style then don't even think about visiting them. On top of all they will annoy you further by being rude. They have no suggestions or recommendation. all they know is number 2,3 or 4 and so on. read more

Washed my hair before going, but when I sat in the chair, the woman taking care of me said my hair is greasy! I told her I wanted a professional haircut and she looked at me like I had 3 heads. So i said I wanted something I could pull into a ponytail, but also wear down and look put together. She said that if I wanted layers, she would have to shampoo my hair; I find that hard to believe. I told her I didn't want it washed again so I did not get layers. I didn't have a picture, but described that I wanted bangs that don't look childish. When she got to cutting my bangs, she said they wouldn't be even with the rest of my hair... um, that's why they're bangs! She seemed really hesitant to cut bangs into my hair, asking me so many questions like I was her teacher! I got sick of it so I just didn't get bangs. Rinsed off all the excess hair when I got home. I have strands that are longer than the rest of my hair! So done with this place! read more

Usually they are really good with their online check-in system to save people time but today was not one of those days. The system wasn't allowing check-ins from before so we called ahead of time to make sure there wasn't a big waiting list and the lady on the phone confirmed it. When we got here, not only was there a huge waiting list but it was standing room only and people were lined up to the door still waiting to check themselves in. In short: when the online check-in system fails... this place can become standing room only with a waiting line out the door. read more

i just had a hair cut on 4/16 around 10:15am on this place and after i shower when i see its at all even on both sides and also some hairs on the sides very longer than others. very bad service. when i called them to complain, the lady who take the call was rude and do not want to tell her name and also told just come back and i need to wait two hours. when i ask her name again she just i dont need to know the name and just hung up. This one really sucks One lady with indian accent told me she needed to shampoo my hair because I had used gel but didnt say she charges for that shampoo. When time came to paying she charged me for that. She could have told me that upfront and be clear whether I still needed a shampoo or if not go somewhere else. Did the online check in thing. Said I was next! We were not from the area (visiting Rutgers) and drove right there. Bottom line: Either they don't know how to work that system or they just wanted to call on all their regulars who were sitting there (place was packed when I got there, but online said I was next). In their defense, a beligerant customer bullied his way into being taken ahead of me because they didn't want a scene. That's when i walked out. Really, really bad management. I had visited the stelton road, South Plainfield Great clips on 11/16 for getting my child's haircut. We regularly visit this place and love the service provided by Stylist Dora and Stephen. On 16th there was a new stylist by name Gabriella whose service was pathetic. We went for the hair cut in the early evening to avoid waiting time and had checked in online. We usually use the trimmers and then the scissors for a closer cut. She refused to use the hair trimmer on my child and went about with the scissors. When we requested her to trim the hair shorter she bluntly refused and said she can't cut any further. We were shocked, been visiting this place for more than 5 years and never had such unpleasant experience. I have visited this place during busy hours of the day and had great service from Dora and Stephen. She was not well trained to handle kids and behaved un professionally. I'm surprised how such people can be rude enough in this profession. read more

Messed up with my kids hair...looks like they don't hire or retain good hair stylists.

I went here a long time ago. I used to not go to salons bc my hair is very long and I usually just need a trim. So why pay salon prices for that? Well this trip is what made me start going to a salon. I asked for a trim, maybe an inch. My hair was probably past my shoulder blades at that time. Fast and careless the best way to describe it. This place is either hit or Miss I tried it 4 times 1 cut was great 1 cut was just OK and the other 2 one of with was done my a manager and it was the worst the other was done by a kid that looked like a punk rocker was almost as bad.
