I've been to Ron 3x now and will keep going back. I have naturally very fine hair that has had some major ups and downs after a car accident that required stitches in my head and then years later a major weight loss journey that definitely took a toll on my hair. I've had stylist that promise "light layering" for movement and volume and when I walk out it's good but the moment they aren't styling it my hair looks choppy and thin or like I let a child cut it. But not w Ron!! First visit was my first cut after loosing 60lbs and some hair w it. We removed some split ends gave it some shape kept layers to around my face and OMG so gentle and relaxing with the wash and comb out. With how fine my hair is it's not uncommon to have a few hairs snap during detangling. NOT A ONE. And the best part my hair looks just as amazing when I style it myself at home bc the cut is great!! I'm VERY hesitant about haircuts due to a lifetime of bad experiences so when I find someone that I feel comfortable and confident with trusting my hair to I will sing their praises like a gospel choir. This time there where 3 other stylists in the salon w appointments as well, all seemed to be regular repeat clients and one from what I overheard had gone somewhere else closer to his part of town and has now returned to Sweet 200. Super chill fun friendly vibe. I found this salon bc I like to spend my money as local as possible to where I live. Even if I moved to a different part of Dallas I will be booking here. read more

Ron is incredible! Originally I was looking for someone close by to just style my hair after a shoulder surgery in 2021. But Ron quickly became a delight to be around, a very calming and relaxed experience. He surpassed all expectations, reimagining this Dallas blonde with color, cut, and now extensions! Fast forward 2+ years later (plus moving zip codes), Ron is the only person I will let touch my hair now. :) Not to mention he has taken on some extra challenges with my partially shaven head after a brain surgery too. I'm used to having full trust in my hair stylist, so I was nervous about trying a new place since I moved that wasn't an aveda salon, but Annette made me feel right at home. She started by asking me some questions about how I normally get my hair highlighted and I honestly couldn't tell her (like I said full trust!) but she made the right decisions and explained everything she was doing and why she was doing it. It was so evident that she was an expert and knew how to do blonde hair right! They offer complimentary drinks while you wait and get a service, the place was clean and efficient. Ron did a great job on my hair. I have curly hair and have been wanting to get it back to the norm, which Ron gave me some style help and materials to use. The overall experience was great! The only thing I did not like which I bet he has no control over was how pricy it was. I understand the location in Bishop Arts, I get it. WORST haircut ever. After growing my hair out for 7 MONTHS I went in with a simple request to cut long layers. After Sarah sabotaged my hair I left with an uneven and unflattering HACK job. I've had better cuts at schools and seriously could have cut my own hair better than this! I specifically told her to not cut my bangs because I wanted to grow them out. Instead she cut my bangs in a million layers and made them impossible to style or fix. Now I will have to grow out my hair for another 6 months and have to use bobby pins to conceal the damage When I told her that I was unhappy she was uncaring and unprofessional and blamed me for having a bad cut before. It's clear she doesn't know what she is doing. I question a salon that would employ someone so talentless and unprofessional. read more

Upon the advice of a friend whose style and judgement I totally trust, I made an appointment with Sara Hernandez. I am so glad I did!! The salon fits right in to Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts - cool vibe, laid back and not at all pretentious. Which I love, because I don't want to feel like I have to get dolled up BEFORE I go to the hair salon! Sara's work is amazing - I have (highlighted) long, blonde hair that Sara always finds ways to keep interesting. Everytime I leave the salon, I get tons of compliments on my hair! I went in last night to be the model for a haircut class. I just love this place. I love its location, so happy to have something so awesome in the OC hood. Anette has a great vibe to her and is a great teacher from what I saw and I think the student, Stefani will do well once fully trained. They also have these adorable cupcake bath bombs for sale in there and I got one to try out... they are delightful. I had a wonderful bath. And I have a good styled hair cute too. Melissa Joy is AMAZING! I've been going to the same hairdresser for 8 years in Austin and when I moved to Dallas I was so nervous to try someone new. I really like this salon. It's casual and comfortable, but still professional. Tammy has cut and colored my hair twice now. I like a LOT of layers in my long hair and other stylists would never give me enough, warning me that we don't want to "go overboard." Tammy gave me all the layers I wanted and my hair looks fantastic - exactly how I envisioned! Tammy also cut my boyfriend's hair. He could never understand paying more than $15 for a men's cut, but now he does...he loves his hair, too. :) We went at the same time and she cut his hair while my color was setting. Worked out great! Oh, and if you want your car washed by hand (inside, outside, or both), there are a few guys in the back that will take care of that for you while you wait. I got a hair cut and it was done nicely. So then I decided to go back again to dye my hair. And the work was done nicely as well. The atmosphere was very edgy. But they don't honor the free styling product like its says on here. They say's it just something yelp does, and they don't give you nothing. read more

Sweet 200 is a very cute, clean, and well kept salon in Oak Cliff. It is easy to get to and the staff is so nice. My stylist, Amy Marshall, is THE BEST!! I followed her here from another salon because she is so talented. She is honest really cares about her clients and makes sure that you are happy with your hair. After each session with Amy she always lets me know if I have any problems with my color or see something that needs to be fixed just to call and let her know. I have never had to take her up on it, but it is good to know that she cares so much. I have been to many hair stylist in DFW and I always find something that I don't like about my hair. Not with Amy, I am always in love with my hair and have received so many compliments. read more

I've seen Kristina at Sweet 200 several times now, and I have to say I'm very happy. She always gets my color just how I want it no matter how many times I've decided to change it. My hair feels and looks great and I get lots of compliments. The salon is gorgeous; great music and a friendly staff make it a real treat to visit. Finding a stylist to stay with can be hard, and I have had many different ones over the years, but I think I'm done looking. I'll stay with Kristina. She's a badass. read more

I started going to Sweet 200 about a year ago when I was looking for a new stylist after moving to Dallas. I wound up with Ron as my stylist and am so happy I did. Ron is the real deal. He listens carefully to what I am looking for, and gives good advice. He's a true artist and he takes a lot of time and care with my hair. I have fairly thin, fine hair that I wear on the short side, all of which makes it pretty unforgiving of bad cuts. But Ron's cuts always give me a boost. His prices may higher relative to some....but they are on par with other stylists who take a lot of care with their work. You really can't go wrong. Highly, highly recommend. read more

This gem in the Bishop Arts District is the best. The salon was renovated by the owner, and she did a beautiful job with it. I love looking at the ceiling tiles when leaning back in the sink. Ashley Harris is so talented with her craft. She is a master of corrective color. I saw her for the first time a year ago when I was growing tired of the brassy tones I was getting from other stylists. At first we went lighter, but I soon found myself wanting to go dark. She did terrific with both colors, and was patient with me the whole time. Ashley is also very chill which I really appreciate in a stylist. See her if you need someone to fix your color nightmare! or give you a new look. Either way she'll craft something beautiful! I wouldn't recommend going to this salon for any service.. Unless you would like to hear inappropriate conversation, and trash talk about other clients as well as stylist. While I was in the chair, my stylist and a previous client of hers were the topic of conversation. She didn't seem to mind it, although I was very offended and wondered what the stylists would say about myself when I left the salon. When I go in to a salon I expect not only good services but a nice experience, and this experience was not nice or enjoyable. It was unprofessional to say the least. I begged my stylist to find somewhere else to treat her clients. Unbelievable. read more

Lydia is always in the know when it comes to new styles, colors, and products. I was concerned about getting gels initially because I worried that the color would be impossible to get off, but I must say that I am completely hooked! Gels make my nails feel so strong, and the color/shine lasts for weeks! As far as gel color removal, Lydia is a pro. It came off quickly and easily. I'm still amazed. She truly personalizes the experience for you, with a clean, comfortable and inviting atmosphere. She is happy to walk you through what she is doing step-by-step. She has a wide variety of colors to choose from, and can order just about anything under the sun. The sign of a great manicurist is her nails, and Lydia's always look great! I'm so excited to support Lydia as a local Oak Cliff businesswoman and resident. She is passionate about what she does, and has the talent to back it up!
