Ended up getting the pistachio and Dubai chocolate croissant. As for the drinks, we got the matcha and the Hojicha with espresso shots. They serve coffee from Hatch (which is probably one of my favourite back in Toronto). Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the croissants fresh but they were still tasted buttery and flakey. The flavour and sweetness was the right amount (perfect for my Asian tastebuds). The drinks were also really good! It was pretty busy inside but there's plenty of seating (might not be great if you want to chill and study but great for hanging out with friends). Service was good, staff is friendly and our order was made fairly quickly. I would come back and try other things on their menu if I'm ever around the area.

Plus, their croissants are big in size and are great for sharing. Their place is beautifully decorated with lots of seating. The workers were kind and friendly. We ordered the Croissant au Pistachio Rose and the Dubai Chocolate Croissant. Both had the perfect amount of flakiness and softness. The Dubai Chocolate was decadent while the Pistachio Rose was nutty with a delicate taste of floral.

They are my favourite Italian pastry. So I had to try it at the newly opened Dolci Sapori. They just opened in August 2024 in the space where the short-lived Pho Bo Le was (it was the Asia Pacific restaurant before that, and where Hung Sum relocated to before it closed for good). They've really converted the space into a beautiful cafe. They had lots of pastries and sandwiches too. However, I had my heart set on the sfogliatella, so that's what I got. It was $4.80. The outside was flaky and crispy and the filling was rich and creamy. It was fantastic! And it was a good size too. My husband and I shared it and it was the perfect snack. Service was courteous. They were fairly busy. Most of the tables were full. I am thrilled to have this new bakery in the neighbourhood. We walked there, but I think there might be limited parking at the west side of the bakery (previous businesses had a few spots there reserved for their customers). Otherwise, there's street parking. We tried the tiramisu cup, raspberry gelato, and pistachio affogato, each one fresh, rich but light, and flavorful. The pistachio affogato? AMAZING! A must-try if you're in Ottawa! You won't regret stepping into this shop that wraps you in warmth and welcome from the moment you walk through the door. I cannot wait to return to try more!

Update after another visit:…read more I decided to give D Spot another try tonight, hoping for a better experience than my first visit. While the food was much better this time, the service unfortunately still left a lot to be desired. We came as a party of seven. When we walked in, the person at the front desk didn't even look up or acknowledge us. We basically had to wait for him to finish what he was doing before being greeted. What surprised me even more was that more than half the restaurant was empty, yet we were still asked to wait because they were "busy" and couldn't seat us right away. After everyone had arrived, we waited over 15 minutes before anyone came over. We asked to order drinks first, but were told they'd come back to take the whole order instead. They never did. Another server eventually took our order, and one of the drinks was still forgotten. The tables and seats also weren't very clean. There were crumbs and even hair on the seating, so we ended up wiping everything down ourselves. On top of that, there were fruit flies around our table throughout the meal, which was pretty annoying. To give credit where it's due, the food itself was good this time and we had no complaints about what we ordered. Unfortunately, the service and cleanliness still didn't match the quality of the food. Original review (1 year ago): My experience didn't leave the best first impression... To summarize, my rating is mainly for the beautiful decor inside and the comfortable spacious seating. The desserts were average, my request for adding blueberries turned out to be blackberries, and the crepes were surprisingly crispy rather than soft. We arrived about an hour before closing, ordered two crepes, one waffle, two drinks, a hot dog, and poutine. Our server was friendly, but we were surprised she didn't have to write down our order at all. To our disappointment, all desserts were served first, only to find out about an hour later our poutine and hot dog were never entered into the system. When we asked if they were on the way, we were told the machines had already been shut down. (The only things we thoroughly enjoyed were the drinks.) We stopped in for a late-night snack and dessert as I'd been wanting to try this place every time I passed by after the movies, but it turned out to be a bit of a letdown.
