I was disappointed that I could not get our one year anniversary cake in the flavor that I wanted in time for our anniversary , after calling within the time that an employee suggested. We opted to not have our cake in time, so that we could get the flavor that mimicked the top tier from our wedding. The owner was not willing or able to budge on that. Best tasting cupcakes in the area! Having a bit of a sweet tooth, pick up cupcakes regularly. These have always been fresh and moist. The frosting is good without being overly sweet. They always seem to have good frosting to cake combinations. We loved Girl Scout week! How they were able to match the frosting to taste like the cookies is a mystery. I visited this restaurant and had the Kale Salad and a brownie. They were both fantastic. My niece is a vegan and we are planning a bridal shower for her and wanted to get some ideas of what I could have at the shower that is vegan. I called to inquire and was told the person in charge of this would call me back. 3 weeks later and no call back, I called them back. Could not get any straight answers from anyone. Didn't get the impression they had anyone who took charge in the planning of events like this. All I was really told was to come in anytime before 3:00 and try stuff. Wasn't helpful at all. The cake was a big hit at the wedding. It looked beautiful and tasted great. After booking we had some communication issues with Sweet Art and were kind of on the fence about using them, but they came through in the end and we are happy we went with them. We had a McKinney wedding and wanted to use local vendors. I was living overseas at the time so I was only in McKinney for one day. I'm not sure if they do cake tastings or not, but they definitely were not able to do one while I was in town so I was told to buy cupcakes if I'd like to try their flavors. We ended up booking them. It's a small business and seems like there are only 1 or 2 people there that know about their wedding side. I initially paid the deposit and discussed cake options in person over a year out from the wedding. Then went into the store a month or so before the wedding to make the final payment and finalize the cake choices. A few weeks before the wedding we emailed asking for cake stand options and to see if we could get photos. They replied back a very nondescript response with no photos and also said that I needed to finalize my cake choices, which as I mentioned, I had done that in person previously. Calling didn't seem to work well so we make a long drive to go in person to actually get the full information. The staff didn't know anything about the stands so we had to wait a bit for the owner to arrive. The stand options weren't really anything we wanted so we ended up supplying our own. It seemed like it was always a big issue to communicate with them about wedding things specifically. In the end the cake was beautiful and delicious. They worked really well with our florist (The Stalk Market, McKinney). It was touch and go, but we are happy that we went with them and would hire them again if given the chance. read more

Absolutely felt right at home, everything was fresh, extremely helpful, gave us ideas, went over photos, really listened to what we were looking for, gave us ideas on what worked best, I couldn't have asked for an easier cake tasting. Lots of laughs , and amazing flavors. We were even given 6 cupcakes to take home. We can't speak for the cakes but we did purchase a couple dozen cup cakes for our daughters birthday. They were average at best with the cake a bit dry and tasting exactly like boxed cake mix. (We purchased a mix of types) The frosting was okay but nothing to write home about and the decorating was reminiscent of what you'd find at your local grocery store. Absolutely not worth what we paid for them. As a proud resident of McKinney I truly hope that they either fix these or get out of the cup cake business hopefully focusing on something they may do better like cakes... read more

I've gone a couple times hoping for a better result, but they really are just okay. I haven't tried any of their other food, which I hear is pretty decent. Sadly my daughter and I took my granddaughter to lunch for a treat. I asked about a basic BLT and if the bacon was crispy. I was told it was cooked in the oven and they get it as crispy as possible. My granddaughters was ordered with cheese no L/T. My daughter ordered the buffalo chicken on a croissant. The bacon Was cooked in a microwave which technically could be called an oven but can't make beautiful crisp fully cooked bacon. The buffalo chicken sandwich was also horrible. We thought there would be redemption in the cupcakes. We each ordered a different kind. I'm a Pastry Chef and don't like shortening in my frosting. My first question upon choosing a cupcake was do you use shortening or butter. I was told both. Usually when someone say cream cheese frosting on a red velvet you expect to taste cream cheese. It too was mixed with shortening. This was information not given to me by the young woman behind the counter. The frosting was a white dollop which should have triggered me to ask a second time. However, the gluten free cupcake was dense but decent. The wedding cake and red velvet were terrible. It was the worst $11.50 for lunch and a cupcake I've ever spent. The food left on all of our plates should have spoken for themselves when you asked if everything was ok. Please stick to cakes and save your money on the cafe product that will cost you dearly in the end. That type of quality is why the fail rate for restaurants is so high. See the cakes are beautiful and fun. Tasty? You should just expect pretty. It seems to be very common that people don't know what real butter cream frosting should taste like. Cake should be flavorful, moist, tender, and topped with real cream cheese frosting, chocolate, or butter cream. No shortening or imitations will do. Your body doesn't know what to do with the plastic it's eating. Sorry Sweet Art. Our experience was anything but sweet. read more

We spent $80 for a birthday cake which this bakery said would be Black Forest. It was a chocolate layer cake with much too much and much too sugary icing and a can of cherries. No whipped cream, no Kirsch, no flavor. How they had the gall to charge that much for a layer cake with a can of fruit is appalling. Never again. read more

A girlfriend took me there for my birthday lunch and it was really disappointing. I was happy to try it because it is right near my home and would be convenient. The service was absolutely awful. The two ladies working were completely disinterested in our business. We tried to make light conversation and it was clear that was NOT to be a part of the experience. We both ordered the chicken salad croissant and side salad....save your money and go pick it up from Sam's Club or Costco yourself. At least you will not have it served by people who do not want your business. We had one red velvet cake ball each that was decent but that is all that I can say good about this place. Purchased two birthday cakes for my kids and nobody liked the taste. The artwork on the cakes was just average. One of the cakes we ordered was strawberry and we believe that the cake and the icing were actually store bought. There were no real strawberry pieces or bits in the cake. There were just small pink dots of strawberry flavored crumbs in the cake and it had an artificial pink coloring. I make strawberry cakes using cake mixes all of the time and the cake brought home from this bakery was no different from what I would do myself. Save yourself $35 per cake and find another bakery. We never thought to ask whether or not the cake would be made from scratch so we've learned our lesson. We will be putting the leftover cakes in the trash because the kids won't eat them. Brought in a photo of a cake design. The staff helped suggest modifications for a smaller version. They listened attentively to my color choices, and helped me select the flavorings. The finished product was true to the design, moist and flavorful. For a two-tier cake and the complexity of the design I thought the price was reasonable. Since it was a busy weekend for us, with many house guests, I also bought several kolaches, muffins and pastries. These were great also. The only negative is the bakery does not deliver. It would have been a great time saver for me if they had. I'd be willing to pay more for delivery. Will go back again for the next specialty cake. read more

The cake, cupcakes and Oreo pops were great!!!!! Customer service was not so great...... I placed a custom cake order two weeks before I needed it and paid it in full. A few days later, I ordered 30 Oreo pops and a dozen custom cupcakes. I noticed that they were offering 10% off of orders for customer appreciation week and asked if there was any way I could get 10% off of my previous cake order (which I was not scheduled to pick-up until 1/11) and was told no. I figured, but it never hurts to ask. Again, I pre-paid my order in full, and was given 10% off. While I was being rung-up, I was asked if I would like a cupcake. I thought that it was a nice gesture, since I was not given the 10% off for my pre-paid cake order. However, much to my surprise, I was charged for the cupcake. I spent about $200 here, and paid for everything before I received them. I didn't need to be sold anything else. I am really disappointed that they felt they needed to make a few more bucks off of me. Not sure if I will be back...... read more
