If I could leave a 10 Star Review I would. Jamie and her family did an amazing job with the cake, cupcakes, and cake pops. They were all amazing. The cake was so good that I think about it often and we got married back in October. She did three different favors and Good lord, they were out hands down amazing. Everyone who got married recently before us complained about the amount of leftover cake at their weddings. We could only complain about how little was left over. Everyone loved it and I am counting down the days until we get our one year anniversary cake. read more

The premium pancake option comes with the equivalent of three strawberries and two pancakes with a reasonable dollop of whipped cream and strawberry sauce. Nutella Banana Souffle Pancakes - Roughly half or two-thirds of a banana split in two and appears to have a bit of caramelized sugar on it. There's also one strawberry, a Ferrero Rocher, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce to go with two fluffy pancakes. The entree is definitely well executed and fruits are fresh. Whipped cream is excellent. Overall, this place is a great place to enjoy some fluffy souffle pancakes. There's limited seating and wait times on the pancakes are anywhere between 15-20 minutes, which we appreciate because they do make them to order. The price of $13.99 for two pancakes off the premium menu felt a bit steep for the product. Experience at much better establishments, like Happy Pancake, in Shibuya or Ginza offer three pancakes with a greater quantity of whipped cream and fruits at roughly $8.25 with no expectations on tips. I understand we're in the states and this may not be a fair comparison, but the variance in both quantity and price is steep. Other than that, the product is good and worth a try.

Every time I walked by on both Saturday and Sunday, the line was out the door. After seeing how busy it was on Saturday, I honestly expected better preparation for Sunday -- especially with staffing. I finally stopped by around 8:00 p.m. Sunday night when the line wasn't nearly as long, but it still took over 29 minutes just to get an ice cream. There was only one person working the register and one person preparing all the orders on his own. That said, both employees remained calm and professional the entire time. They did not appear stressed despite the constant flow of customers, and they handled everything with patience. Major credit to them for keeping it together all weekend. Management, however, could have anticipated the volume of a large cheer competition and staffed accordingly. With better preparation, the experience could have been much smoother. Kudos to the two employees for staying composed and doing their best under tough circumstances.

To top it all off, after we got our food and sat down, she actually went above and beyond to come over to our table and check on us just because I had called to thank her for helping me from not leaving to the amazing customer service she provided. I let her know that is very rare now days and not to ever change that! I found out after meeting her that shes about to head out on maternity leave soon and honestly, I'm going to be a little sad when she leaves! She is a massive asset to the Hutchins team and can change the mood just by her smile and friendliness. Not only that, she gave a lot of good recommendations for trying some new foods at Hutchins and every time has been a good call! Give this girl a raise!! I was fortunate enough to have Aamina at Brilliant Cakes make my cake for 2 events - my Mayun and…read moremy wedding reception. Both times the cakes blew me (and our guests) away! For the mayun, we really wanted a cake that was shaped like a dhol. We contacted her just about a week before the event and she was able to work us in. The cake was so artistically done, and came out exactly how we wanted. So many people asked us where the cake was from - it really was quite the centerpiece. Not only was it beautiful, but it tasted wonderful. The texture was perfect! For my wedding cake, we had been considering some other vendors for cakes, but hadn't really been satisfied with the taste of their samples. My mom suggested we meet with Aamina. She was willing to meet with us just weeks before the wedding (thank goodness!!!) and had samples available for us. I really wanted something different, and she suggested mango/strawberry mousse cake. Because I lived out of town, I wouldn't be able to try the cake myself before the wedding. But the way she talked about it, I trusted her completely. I could tell that she wouldn't make a cake for a client until it met her standards for flavor, texture, appearance, etc. I appreciated that and would trust her to make anything, even unseen and un-tasted! She also makes sure she uses the highest quality ingredients. For example, she wouldn't use flowers from florists due to pesticides sprayed on the flowers. This isn't something I thought of, nor something any cake vendor I talked to mentioned. But after she said that, I totally agreed and appreciated her diligence to maintaining the highest quality and safety. We ended up having a dummy cake for practical purposes, and so she made our top tier cake rose pistachio flavored just for us, so we could try this unique flavor out. I was really impressed with how it turned out - even better than I could have imagined. I had a white cake with white butterflies on it, and it fit with the décor perfectly. The butterflies stood out despite the white on white. I think she added something to give them a slight shine. In fact, I went back and looked at the inspiration picture we sent her, when writing this review and realized our cake looked even better (the butterflies were prettier)! Her prices are also reasonable. I got to have some cake the day after our wedding - and it was soo delicious. I'm not usually a cake person, but I had 3 slices of this cake! I still think about it sometimes... :)

We really wanted to love Butterfly Cakery (especially since its so close to our house), but it was…read moreawful. From the moment we stepped in, the vibe was ... nonexistent. With such a prime location, you'd think they'd play up the indoor/ outdoor seating areas, make it cozy, charming music, a place to chill with friends over a cupcake. Instead, the inside felt like a doctors waiting room and the outside was damaged run down patio furniture and occupied with the local homeless. Four bucks per cupcake isn't outrageous, when its worth it. Ours, sadly, tasted like they were thawing out, still partially frozen. The frosting was sweet but didn't deliver a strong delicious flavor, no zip. We normally start saying "mmmmm" when something is divine but this was more like "oh no!" For $4 a pop, you'd expect a little magic and forks. Instead they disappeared into the trash, poof, $8.00 gone! We would have given our feedback to anyone who would listen, but honestly no one cared enough to check on us. I would have asked for a refund ...and we regret the 10 minutes of our time to stop by.
