Amazing!! Walking in, I would have guessed this place was opened in the past two years. It has one of those modern retro vibes. I was shocked to learn it has been in business for over 30 years. My in-laws absolutely love this place and have been going there pretty much since it was open. First of all everything is squeaky clean. Not a crumb on the floor. The decor is extremely cool with a rock 'n' roll vibe and music playing over the speakers. Staff was super attentive and friendly. My wife has food, allergies, and they went overboard, accommodating her every request. I had the clam chowder which was a 10 followed by a roast beef sandwich, another 10, followed by strawberry ice cream, hot fudge with bananas and whipped cream. Absolutely wonderful. Our choice for drinks were a dirty vanilla chi latte and a London Fog tea (I think that's the name) and we chose to have soup, Chicken Soup and Lobster Bisque, both delicious! We came here for some brunch while visiting family on a Sunday morning. It was a very quiet morning amidst the rain outside. They had just opened and we were promptly seated. Upon sitting, we were told their oven wasn't working but we can still have our foods heated. I got the California BLT, while my partner got the Grilled Chicken Pesto, each served with a bag of Lays potato chips. My sandwich was pretty good, but cold and bread was a bit dry, his chicken came out warm and juicy. Background and first impressions: We visited as a family in early March (before the pandemic announcement) and were welcomed in in the later afternoon, when there were few people around and when it was a little chilly outside. The interior is really cozy and charming, and we felt at home - the lady at the cash register near the front confirmed with us that we were eating in, and she showed us a nice table for the six of us. Our waitress (super nice, with glasses) came by to drop off the menus and gave us some time to think. Menus and food: We were hungry from hiking around the Poconos area, and the menus listed lots of options! My parents are vegetarians, and our waitress was happy to point out their options. We split some appetizers (the loaded nachos are incredible, the cheese dip was delicious), got a hot or cold drink each (the dollops of whipped cream on top of the hot chocolates are generous and tall!), and a sandwich (came with chips and some pickles) each. The food was fresh, the greens were crunchy as the chips, and everything delicious and easy to put away. At the end even though we were stuffed, the ice cream flavors were too interesting to pass up - our server suggested we get the sampler platter where we can all share little scoops of SIX flavors! Dessert: We all were able to enjoy the ice cream at the end of our meal, and when the server asked us which was our favorite, we realized most of us chose a different favorite from each other, which just goes to show how good the ice cream is that there truly is something for everyone. (my favorite was the pistachio.) In conclusion: Although it was a slower time of the day and the sun was setting, we never felt rushed and yet also felt very much taken care of. We didn't mention it at the time but we were in town to celebrate my father's 60th birthday, and he surely enjoyed this part of the weekend as a great memory. read more

Ice cream is among the best. Very special. Even the chocolate chips in the mint chip tasted special. The gentleman (guessing proprietor?) was there by himself in what used to be a dining-room turned storage/renovation project during covid (guessing). He was only taking orders through a sliding glass window like some kind of ice-cream pushing street dealer. He was also handling a larger food order so kindly shooed us away from the front of the store for thirty minutes while he worked on it. First reaction "ugh!", second reaction "if there's a wait there's a reason". We walked around town and went back in thirty minutes. The menus are taped in the window panes on 8x11 papers. They had a selection of by the scoop/sundae/shakes, and a longer list by the pint for take away. Since this place was so challenging to get an order in, we ended up adding on a few more things to the ice cream order - like a fig "pizza" (kinda a flatbread) and Arnold palmers, it was a hot day and they were refreshing. It might have been fresh squeezed lemon juice. And added some dog ice cream since my dogs are my babies now that kids are in camp. The dog ice creams (bananas, cream, peanut butter) were frozen solid even by the time we made it back to my friends house 20 minutes away. Food all looked interesting. This gem is a little advertising and an employee or two away if it can find good people from being a destination worth the trip. But for now, it's quirks are just fine. I have to imagine the pandemic criminally crippled a gem like this so I am happy spending whatever I can to help with a turnaround. Sweet Creams has wonderful and healthy lunch items in a fun environment, which usually includes some great art. The staff is always wonderful and quite speedy. It's just a liiiiiiiittle pricey, but its great for lighter fare. They have sandwiches that are killer, coffee drinks for all types, and a whole litany of other food items that rock. I'm always so busy with the menu I forget that they have numerous exotic flavors of homemade ice cream. The room feels very intimate and cozy, but on busy days can feel a little small. It tasted like straight vanilla. I asked my mom and brother to taste it and they both said it was just vanilla. I politely brought it back thinking it was a mistake but they angrily said that they tasted all of the flavors themselves and it was indeed strawberry. They said they use real strawberries so that why it was faintly there. Either there was no strawberries or there was a minuscule amount of strawberries in what was supposed to be strawberry ice cream. Cute little cafe on Main Street in Stroudsburg. The menu was limited to appetizers, salads and sandwiches and of course homemade "sweet cream" ice cream creations. I had lunch there on a chilly rainy day so soup was on my radar. Italian wedding soup was the soup of the day by cup or bowl. I ordered a cup thinking it to be a standard diner cup size but to my surprise it was served in an oversized mug but only half filled. It was tasty with lots of round pastry na and Italian style tiny meatballs with spinach. The was no trace of any chicken meat as is often found in this soup. It was hot so I was happy. My sandwich choice was called a Smokey Mountain and was served on the crispiest croissant I have ever had. It was sufficiently loaded with smoked turkey breast and smoked Gouda,and plenty of crispy bacon garnished with lettuce and a ripe tomato and an onion mayo which wasn't overpowering. Served warm , it was very tasty. Having saved room by taking half my sandwich to go it was time to try a dessert-Ice Cream! I ordered the Brownie Sundae with Butter Pecan ice cream, hot fudge and of course whipped cream with a cherry on top. All I can say is "sweet cream goodness!". It was creamy, the brownie was a real homemade brownie and the hot fudge sauce was actually hot! Perfect ending to a really enjoyable lunch. First came out the "breaded mozzarella" which was breadsticks with mozzarella cheese on top, and canned tomato paste to dip it in... which was cold AND the bread had green mold on the bottom with mold spores. When we went back to the window to inform them we didn't want any more of our food and to show them the mold they caught real shitty attitudes and proceeded to say they couldn't say that it was mold. Well no need to say it, I said it for you. From someone that worked all through red phase wake up and get with the times or close your doors for good. We stopped here on a road trip because it is just off of exit 307 on I-80. We purchased a sandwich and a salad with basil lemonades and we genuinely enjoyed every bite of both meals. The basil lemonade was so fresh and tasted like summertime. The salad was masterfully executed and every bite was the perfect combination of fruit, spinach, romaine, and cheese. I wish we lived closer because this would absolutely be a regular hangout for us. Our meals took 5-10 minutes from order to table and our waitress was attentive and quick to provide recommendations and got us in and out in 30 minutes. We grabbed two ice cream cones for the road and the ice cream we tried (blackberry with chocolate chips) was creamy and smooth with high quality dark chocolate chips. The cones were fresh and the scoops were generous. If you're near exit 307 (Stroudsburg) and passing through I would urge you to skip the McDonald's/Wendy's/Panera's and check out this quaint little spot. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and leave a little more refreshed than you came in. Parking is around the back of the building. Could be challenging to park if you have an oversized vehicle.
