Jamey's House of Music - Suyun's Famous Shrimp Fried Rice (mild)

I had the pleasure of experiencing this cozy, rhythmic lounge on Friday night. I have driven past…read morethis establishment more times than I care to say but I always thought... I'm going to check them out one day. I'm grateful I finally made "one day" happen. I received the weekly email reminder that The Larry Price Quintet was scheduled to perform. I read the bio and really liked that Larry Price had his students accompanying him. The Venue: Intimate and cozy with a fantastic sound system. The Cuisine: Asian fusion with healthy portions that are huge on flavor! What We Njoyed: Deep Fried Wonton Strips - w/sweet and spicy Asian dipping sauce. 5/5 Suyun's Famous Shrimp Fried Rice (mild and medium) the medium has jalapeño heat and it definitely has a little kick. 5/5 Jamey's Special Wild Caught Rock Shrimp Tempura w/garlic chili aioli, broccoli florets and jasmine rice. 5/5 Lemon Drop Martini and Mitchell & Mitchell Cabernet Sauvignon Everything was delicious and I'm not sure what they season their broccoli with but ummmm yummy! The Performance: Superb.... Standing ovation!! As Jamey mentioned when he introduced Larry Price, "He's been around the world more times than Santa Claus"! Mr. Price certainly has Santa Claus energy and magic on the saxophone. He has to be an extraordinary educator as well since the 4 young men that made up the whole of the quintet sounded as if they have been playing for decades. I wish all of them much success in their future endeavors! The Staff: We were greeted by Jamey when we walked in. The gentleman working the bar, the lovely waitress that single handedly worked the entire venue and the Chef's were all delightful and a major part of why I'll return. If you enjoy live music, great food, great people and a cozy lounge atmosphere, treat yourself to a show at Jamey's House of Music. [895] 4/7/2019…read moreJazz music.. amazing!! Since Jamey's offer a Sunday brunch we decided to check this place out. We parked across the street. There is also plenty of parking next door at the train station so don't let this busy street stop you from coming in. The music was awesome. Sounds like it is a sign in and play day. The talent was AMAZING!!! The stage was large with tons of seating. You can see the top notch sound system on hand. We sat in the front area (sounds like there may be a back dining room as well). There was 8 of us in a room that seats about 12. The food was amazing (check out my pics)!! We loved every single bite! Not a single complaint from any of us... My only issues were that the food took forever to come (over an hour but not a big deal in the scheme of thing). From the dining area we could not see the talent but we enjoyed the sound. They need a TV screen so we can watch from the dining area. The waitress was a teen that was DEFINITELY not properly trained. We had to go up and get our own napkins, forks, spoons. etc... And we cleaned up after ourselves. The friendly teen was definitely overwhelmed as there was a customer coming to complain about wait time. They had an older lady that was near the sign up that was doing nothing. She saw us going to grab silverware and didn't offer to help.. just moved out of the way so we can help ourselves. No smile when I paid (over $100 for our crew). I also came with my own "Birthday" table sign and wore a birthday sash .. one would think ONE person would say happy birthday or acknowledge our large table? nope The place was packed by the time we finished eating so no place to sit and watch the talent. So for next brunch.... I will order.. then sit and watch the talent and take my food to go... . The food and music is so worth it... I will also come back on a paid talent night. .I can only imagine how cool that will be. I'll definitely be back.

I'm giving 5 stars cuz I love the giant hot bar. It had a Chinese section w meats, noodles, egg…read morerolls. Then it had 2-3 sections of prepared food choices like turkey, ribs, meatloaf, fried foods, various steamed vegetables, rice. No onion rings tho! I was told there was a cold salad bar but I'm sleepy today and didn't see it. The cashier almost bit my head off when I asked her about it. So def stop in, it's a great store w unique areas I've not seen at other stores but don't ask questions. Just get your groceries and get in and get out. Cashiers are slow as mud. But I'll be back and I signed up for the card too.

At times the lines are long because there are no other registers open to help get the lines down. You end up having to bag your own groceries all the time. They don't say hello nor greet you when you get to them. There is nobody not even security to greet you at the door. It's hard to find good ppl that know where things are in the store & they work there. They need to do better with their reward system. Ppl don't want to have to spend a certain amount of money to get something free. They should be able to earn points to get stuff free. I think from now on I will be sticking with shopping at Giants.
