Our server was friendly and continued to check on us throughout our meal to make sure we had everything we needed. My companion got a vegetable omelette, which, as she described it, was more like a mess of veggies held together with a little egg and cheese- it looked wonderful and she said it was tasty. It came with a side of grits which was large enough to be a meal unto itself. She asked for hot sauce and they brought some over- they make it in-house (and you can buy it to-go if you want it for home). It had delicious authority! Hot but still very flavorful. I got a grilled cheese with spinach- it was delicious- very cheesy but also very spinachy and not too greasy from the skillet. The highlight for me was the maduros (plantains)- they were just the right combination of crispy from the carmelized sugars and soft but not squishy, and zero charred taste (which can happen if you are not careful). If I still lived locally, I would be in here frequently- we both left very satisfied and the portions were large enough that we brought home some omelette and some maduros for an afternoon snack. Well done Leo's!

The location…read morewasn't too difficult to find thanks to the map, but it is slightly off the beaten path for sure. The guy working in the kitchen was very nice and recommended a cheesesteak for lunch. Amoroso rolls were what he told me they use for bread. They have several tables for dine in and the place was well heated for a cold winter day. It was simple and clean inside. My cheesesteak was average, it was pretty greasy and flavor wise wasn't bad. I'm not a huge fan of amoroso rolls for cheesesteaks, the grease also soaked into the roll quite a bit. The portion size was small, but the for the price I think it was on par. I think I paid just under $6 for the sandwich. I'll have to return for breakfast which seems to have much better reviews!

The GPS will direct you to take the unpaved ominous looking road of 'Calcon Hook' but it's not the only way in Chester Pike to Sharon Avenue is an alternative. Once you locate the restaurant it will remind you of a trailer, in a movie about construction workers. Inside it's spacious with plenty of seating and fairly clean considering the age and lack of updates. On this date I'll give a little leeway to service because the cook was in the hospital and the lady 'owner' was alone. But I'm here to tell you she worked that grill, those phone calls, the counter and tables! I ordered the hungry man special 3 eggs, home fries, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 French Toast and 2 pancakes all for $6.99! It was good and plentiful. Each item was enjoyable. I have to say I had several cups of coffee and it's some of the best around. Next time I'll bring a book to read as I sip my coffee and wait!

This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. Now I just need to plan out my flights so I can come get breakfast here again and try one of the sandwiches, or omelettes, or maybe get French toast again...

Today was no exception. Their grilled chicken sandwich was not what I hoped for. On the plus side, it was a generous portion of chicken, most of which I took home. As a negative -- at least for me -- I like a flat filet, with grill marks. This was "chunky," rendering it clumsy to eat. It simply didn't taste grilled at all. And the chicken was dry. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) I asked if Greek lemon soup is ever on the menu. She said that the owners are Turkish, then gave me a rundown of their specialties, all of which sound delish. (Alas, no avgolemono.) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Folcroft. The menu is diverse, the restaurant is clean -- as pointed out by another Yelper AND our waitress. If you order the right thing, you'll no doubt be pleased.

She picked this place and we headed over to West Philly to check em out. The restaurant is situated at the corner, with signage that makes it noticeable enough so you know where it is when driving up pr passing by. Inside it is to large, but the setup is in a way that doesn't make it feel crowded - some cafe wooden tables (a few two-seaters and a couple four-six seaters) and some countertop seating like a diner. The staff are all cool, down to earth people working hard to serve the people and give the best service as possible - we had a fun moment with two of them and they made sure to check on us throughout our meal.. As for the food - it was very good and I was happy with my choice. Because they had a specialty menu based on one of my have artist (Jay-Z), I had to get something off of that menu. There were a couple of chickens that caught my but I ended up going with the "Lobster & Scrimp" which was a shrimp and grits entree that also included lobster. My friend also got the #3 option from the specialty menu (think of his song about certain people in a French city ) which was a variation of a French toast. Our food was served at the perfect temperature, good portion size and had a good flavor/taste to it. For drinks, she got the Peach Lavender Lemonade and I ordered the complimentary drink from the specialty menu - the "D.O.A" which was a dragon fruit and orange aperol spritz. I'm not normally a spritz person, but this one wasn't bad and I actually enjoyed/drank it all; I think the dragon fruit taste added something extra to it for me. Good spot for brunch/breakfast. Look forward to coming back to try out more dishes from here.
