I had the pleasure of eating a wedding cake and cupcakes from sweet Heather and at a wedding that I attended at the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield. The cake was truly beautiful and more importantly, and unlike almost any other wedding cake, it had such amazing flavor. It was Wonderfully moist and had the most fantastic raspberry filling, and I mean made from raspberries not vaguely raspberry sauce! We got a blueberry pie (freshly baked), an apple strudel and half a poppy seed strudel (both frozen). You can get the strudels either freshly baked or frozen to bake later; same with the pies, I suspect. The pie and apple strudel are the absolute best I've ever had, and I grew up with a grandma who made these desserts! The poppy seed strudel was also very good, but it has raisins, which is traditional, but I personally don't like very much. The apple strudel does not have raisins - yay! Gretchen does heritage baking, hence the desserts are not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. They are perfect!
